The cover design must invoke some kind of marketing voodoo that I don't understand (so don't judge!), but aside from that this book is awesome. It's full of mini-craft cocktails. In other words: shots that don't suck.

There are a handful of notable bartenders in each town that you end up hearing the names of over and over, and in Seattle Andrew Bohrer is among them. I'm 33 and haven't had a mixed shot in perhaps a decade, but I poured a few rounds of some of these to my friends and was greeted by surprise and awe rather than the laughter guaranteed to me had I proceeded unaided by this text.

Some have quite a few ingredients, but many don't - so if you have a decent bar set up at home and wanna have some fun pick this up.

I've tried several of the shots that we could make and they were not that impressive. Most of the shots in here use liquor that is not very common and most bars don't even carry them. I'm not going to buy a unique liquor just make these shots.

I ordered this book based on Andrew Bohrer's outstanding reputation and work in the Seattle bar scene. The book is thicker and more interesting than the cover may suggest. I wasn't expecting to be so blown away. You need this great little book in your bar collection. It's packed full of colorful, beautiful pages and pictures. Fun reading, and incredibly fun, classy, and tasty shots! Can't wait to host a shot party.

I like the pictures. My brother is a bartender so he will know if they are not tried or common. I wouldn't, however, I liked some of the names and maybe they will try some with the new shot glasses I got with the book :)

Love this book, so many tasty drinks. This aren't your typical shots, more like mini cocktails. Well balanced, interesting ingredients,and written in a witty, charming manner...what's not to love.

Like other reviewers have mentioned, this book has many great shots that resemble (and often are) mini-cocktails. There are interesting facts at the bottom of most pages and the pictures are lovely. Most shots do not require too obscure of ingredients.

The last chapter, "Shots of Last Resort," is a fun read but I wouldn't recommend trying too many of them.

Overall, a great book that stands out from the plethora of cocktail books out there.
