Amazing, a must have for any Doctor Who fan, like myself ☺ The book is quality, seems to be very well put together. Love the way it's goes through the characters, makes me want to rewatch the show yet another time! Only bad thing is, there is some slight damage to the top binding (picture). Still, being the Whovian I am, love it!!

Very nice book has a lot of characters and good write ups about them. Nice color photos throughout. A few spoilers if you haven't watched all the shows. My daughter was excited and enjoys looking at it from time to time, learning new things.

Doctor Who Character Encyclopedia

I am a huge Doctor Who fan, but I don't think I can consider myself a Whovian only because my knowledge of this series is so limited. Hence the purchase of this book. And from what I can tell, this book has it all. Everything from all 11 Doctors to Doctor Who's granddaughter Susan Foreman to the new companion Clara "Oswin" Oswald. I really like the glossy hardcover with text in a shiny metallic silver and the page layout which looks clean and simple. There is tons of color, the pictures don't seem to have any visible upscaling and look detailed and sharp. There are even sections on each page to show which Doctor encountered said Alien/Monster/baddie. If you are a hardcore Whovian there probably isn't much information in this book that you don't already know. But the super low price and great quality would make a great addition to any Whovian's collection of any and all things Doctor Who related. I am loving this book and you may too. FULLY APPROVED.

This book is perfect for every Doctor Who fan. It's packed with heaps of information about each monster, villain, companion and people the doctor has come across on his travels. I will be using the Daleks as an example. With brilliant pictures and information about their home world, special abilities and appearances over the years. Although I would like it more if there was some basic information about what episodes the Daleks are infamous for, every bit of important knowledge you need is there. There are 203 well written pages and some great lab led pictures. The quality of the book is not great as I have had it for about a month now and the spine of the book is broken but I think that is due to the amount of times I have read it. As far as I'm concerned there are no great characters missing form the vast selection but the book only goes up to Matt Smith or the 11th doctor so characters featured in the 12th doctors episodes and non-existent. But that is to be expected.

I truly recommend this book and maybe even a Tardis backpack to complete the package.

Not exhaustive, but definitely worth the money

This book is a nice size, not too bulky. Great page layouts with clear photos & useful information in similar format on all pages. Characters are helpfully colour coded by type: Time Lord, human, humanoid, robot etc etc. As a fan of the new series I enjoyed reading about the characters and companions from the "old" show, (Doctors 1-8), it's actually why I got the book. There is a good balance of old and new characters.

Sometimes the character bios seem a bit off-topic or miss out on important aspects of the characters. Martha's entry, for instance, seemed to focus mostly on her feelings for the Doctor instead of the Osterhagen Key, her walking across the world etc. Some entries could have been more concise. There are definitely many spoilers about important events relating to certain characters, which may bother some people. There are some characters that are not in this book, mostly because their parts were too small to merit a full page entry, but it would have been nice to have at least a short explanation/definition of who they were. That's the only thing keeping this book back from really being an "encyclopedia."

Overall, it's a great buy, definitely worth it for new and old fans alike. I learned a lot and am glad to add it to my library.

It is full of fun and interesting information

My daughter bought this with her Christmas money and I must admit, I grabbed it first. I tried to read it all in one sitting, but failed. It is full of fun and interesting information. If you are a Doctor Who fan and want more information on all the seasons, not just the most recent, this is a fun and informative way to do it. I liked the history behind all the characters. I thought it might be overwhelming, the way it was played out, but I was wrong. It's a lot of fun.

A MUST if you are a fan of Dr. WHO

This book is an absolute MUST if you are a fan of Dr. WHO! I only recently discovered this delightful show. My grandson and his father watch it all the time. I bought the book for my grandson for Christmas and could hardly get him to look at the rest of his presents afterward! :) He looked through the whole book, chatting with his father on different characters before he put it down to move on. I highly recommend this book. I am a new fan of Dr. Who, and have to admit, I read a lot of the book before I gave it to my grandson. :)

This book is beautiful, full of facts and characters, with full color pages and a nice hardcover. I am absolutely blow away with the price for such an amazing book! Doctors, Villains, and Companions go back all the way to the 1st doctor! A great way to introduce the original series with the new generation of Whovians! A must buy! I'll be keeping my eye out for the next edition!

Husband loves the book!

Bought this for my husband for Christmas. He loves Doctor Who & watches it every day. He was so happy when he opened it & saw what it was. He didn't get it for Christmas Day but it arrived a few days later which is ok cuz it was a nice after Christmas surprise.

More popular than the 10th Doctors Sonic!

I got this as an almost consolation prize to my younger child because the older one got the 10th Doctor's sonic. Well this book was a real hit with both kids. What a great companion to have on the table while watching Doctor Who! The series has so much context in the 50-years of history, you really get value looking things up, learning about the history of characters and how it calls back to seasons past. We just watched the 10th doctor battle the Sontarans and we could see that they have a rich history.

An excellent companion - lots of pictures for kids. Everyone's there. Be careful about spoilers, but that hasn't been a problem, other than my 10-year-old *insisting* on telling me how each Doctor regenerated and why...
