Good For Painting Walls Over Steps

If you are reading this you are probably trying to figure out how in the world to paint a section of wall above steps that you otherwise cannot reach with a conventional ladder. Here's what I like about this product.....first off I successfully painted a 20 foot section of wall over steps and lived to talk about it. Seriously though, this product fit snugly against my carpeted steps and didn't slip. It has grippers on the bottom to keep it from sliding which I definitely appreciated. It is well built and solid which gave me some sense of comfort being high up on a ladder. I watched several YouTube videos and thought about trying to build my own platform out of plywood and 2x4's and I am happy that I bought this instead. Yes it is a little pricey but other than renting scaffolding or building your own platform you don't have a lot of other choices.

Not sure when I bought this if it would turn out to be a cheap, plastic flop. Just the reverse! It's very sturdy and well-made. The non-slip gripping surfaces work well, even on my slippery wood floor. It also holds the ladder feet well - I felt steady and balanced while on the ladder in my stairwell. The task was painting, especially edging where the wall and ceiling meet. I was able to concentrate on my painting while using the pivit tool and my 20-foot ladder. When I started, my husband stood next to the ladder in case it started slipping. After 5 minutes, we realized that I could carefully go up and down rungs and shift the paint can from one hand to the other...in other, normal movements one would need to make...without having any issues. After that, I felt confident not having a spotter. Obviously, you wouldn't want to jump up and down or try some of the Cirque du Soleil acts on the ladder unless you are a certified professional...but for your everyday person, this is an extremely handy tool. Well worth the price.

Where has this thing been my whole professional career? I've seen it over and over in specialized paint stores but wasn't sure I'd really use it. I finally came across a situation that stumped all of my usual tricks to reach high places in a stairwell so I bought one. Problem solved - and in a way that makes me want to smack myself for not getting one much, much, sooner. The unit is well built, solid, and doesn't feel at all questionable while on it. If you're looking at this product, you're obviously in the know regarding the stairway challenges we face. BUY IT!

Extremely useful for more than ladders on the roof

I'm doing a big siding repair and painting job on our second floor, so there will be lots of time spent on and near the roof. Today this thing proved it's worth before I even stepped on the roof by providing a flat surface for tools. The cordless drill, scrapers and accessories all fit on this thing and nothing slides down the shingles. The large end is open, creating a perfect compartment for the little tools. I stood on a ladder 10' up for more than two hours with this thing next to me on the roof, and I never had to worry that something was going to slide down or roll off. Can't wait to move onto the roof and use this some more. 100% happy.

A must for anyone needing a stable ladder

I bought one for my husband for Father's Day - he'd never seen it before, and approaches everything with a LARGE glass of pessimism. Well, he likes it, and asked be to get him another one so he can set up 2 ladders at a time. He's hard to please, and he's pretty happy!

My husband used the LadderTool extension to hang lots of art going up the stairs. We had art high

up on the second story portion of the wall, and it could not have been done without this stable platform for the extension ladder.

First, let me clarify my "low" stars on the easy to use and light weight ratings. Those are both GOOD news! It is not "easy" to get this on the roof or re-position it due to the weight but that makes it much more stable while in use. I am 69 years old and used this with a 4 foot stepladder to re-side a wall above a steep 8/12 pitched roof. I did wear a harness and safety line but it never came into play since the Pivit tool was stable and did not budge while I was on the stepladder even while hammering nails. The ribbed rubber grips on all corners provided great slip resistance which was even better when my weight was on it. I should mention my roof shingles are brand new so I can't speak to its performance on older shingles. At first I felt the price was somewhat high but I imagine their product liability insurance premiums must be thru the roof, no pun intended! And it also likely saved me several thousand dollars over having to hire a contractor to do the same job.

This is a tool that most people scratch their head and wonder how it can be useful. Well I love it, on the roof , on a hillside and the stairs for leveling my ladder or for standing. on. The tool has great grip on shingles and won't slip, gives you added confidence. I now have two of them , used recently on a roof with an extension ladder to give me greater security.

If your trying to paint over stairs.....

We bought this so we could paint walls over a stairwell, worked out great. Still made me a little nervous to see my husband up that high on the ladder but it works great if you just don't watch😉. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is it is a little pricey for what it's made of. Otherwise, it gets the job done!
