Not very bright, replaced my old 24 inch which was much brighter. I bought a cheap 18 inch Black light bulb and light fixture and it's twice as bright. Lights up a very small area.

I purchased two of these thinking they would be exactly like the awesome ones I had as a kid in the 1980's but they ARE NOT! They are HORRIBLE. I purchased them back in August but didn't open them until September. I was planning on using them to decorate my 1970's themed basement recreation room and was waiting for the weather to cool down before installing them. When I opened them THE FIRST ONE DIDNT WORK AT ALL, no light, no nothing. The second one lights up but it's NOT LIKE A REAL BLACKLIGHT AT ALL, it's EXTREMELY DIM, and the bulb DOES NOT GLOW THE AWESOME PURPLE COLOR THAT MY OLD ONES DID back in the day. I know what a blacklight should be and this isn't it. It has this reflective shiny plastic behind the bulb that's supposed to help it glow but it doesn't show up much at all. ALSO, the thing is a fire hazard. As soon as it's plugged in it starts to get hot. I wouldn't trust it for 20 minutes plugged In let alone leave it unattended. This was mentioned in a few other reviews but I naively purchased these without reading the reviews (huge mistake that I'll never make again). I had no idea it was possible to screw up the making of a blacklight but I was wrong.

I bought this black light to help restore color to my fading video game consoles, The black light didn't even light up and after 5 mins of being plugged it began to smoke, I had to quickly unplug it take it outside. faulty wiring? The light fixture housing is so flimsy made out the cheapest plastic ever it seems like it was going to fall apart just taking it out of the box. I bought this 4 months and just got around to taking it out the box so I don't even know if I can still get a refund. I would just avoid this product all together, its cheap but you get what you pay for.

Not as described!!! Cord is not 6 ft.

This it works fine, my complaint is the description on line is not accurate. On the features it clearly states 6 ft power cord, but the actual power cord is only 4 ft. I specifically purchased this item because it says the power cord was 6 ft and I needed a black light that could reach that far from my outlet. If you only need a power cord that is 4 ft, then this black light works perfectly. If you need a 6 ft cord, DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!!! Attached are images showing the false listing info and an actual picture of me measuring the cord length.

Super short cord, light not very "strong"

The cord on this light is so short...probably about 3 feet. It would barely reach from the top of a dresser to the outlet. To hang it on the wall, we had to buy an extension cord.

It's also not very bright/strong. I remember them engulfing a room with purple light as a kid. This is really weak and doesn't make my son's stars glow that bright.

Great product! These arrived quickly and intact, and were packaged very well. We ordered three to use as hidden lighting in a display cabinet which shows off our depression era vaseline glass. It works like a miracle! We don't plan to leave the lights on all the time, of course, but it really does make a wonderful statement!

I have a 18 inch black light that's probably 10 years old that puts out twice the light that this 24-inch one does I wouldn't call it junk but I don't know what his problem is you can hardly tell it's on poor purchase......

Arrived damaged

The inside box was crushed which broke the back side of the unit. The outside box was undamaged which proves they placed it inside knowing of the defect.... And thr bulb will not turn on. It just flickers...

Okay product is great and for the price you cant ask for anything more... the poor rating is because i ordered 2 one came with a crack the other came shattered the replacement then came shattered. The next replacement was fine my only issue then is that all the fixtures haves so many scuffs and scratch marks like it were dragged around on the floor by my 4 year old if you get the product in good condition its a 5 star item. AlsoVminovations was very good at handling the situation so 5 stars for them

Okay...I've tested all kinds of black lights. Fluorescent, LED, whatever. If you want TRUE...black light, fluorescent is the ONLY one capable. I have both LED and fluorescent, and UV sensitive colors are SO MUCH BRIGHTER in fluorescent than LED in comparison to wattage. You get MORE regular illumination with LED, more "purple" light, but NOT true BLACK light illumination...there's a major difference.

Those stating LED is brighter...yes, it is. However, it doesn't illuminate UV sensitive objects as vibrantly as fluorescent. Period.

Combining LED and fluorescent is pretty wicked...
