Great toy for creative play
by Amazon Customer (4 out of 5 stars)

My 5-year-old loves anything that he can use to build/construct. These are a good alternative to Legos because the pieces fit together differently and they're large enough that I don't have to worry so much about them being a choking hazard for little ones. He is younger than the recommended age, but doesn't have a problem fitting them together or coming up with new creations. My 3-year-old, on the other hand, is not strong enough to fit the pieces together. I gave this product 4 stars because I've found that the instructions are difficult to follow. The 5-year-old has no problem sitting down and following the instructions for Lego projects that are aimed at children much older, but I've found that the Zoob instructions can be difficult even for me to follow. For the most part this isn't that big of a deal, because they're mostly used for imaginative creations, but sometimes he does get frustrated when he wants to build something that he sees in the instructions.

Great size for little hands!

These building pieces are fantastic! I love how they are able to be moved around yet still stay together. One of the problems with LEGO pieces is that once they're assembled, there's really not much ability to be able to move the item around. LEGO pieces are basically incredibly fragile once assembled and for my 5 year old that loves to play with LEGOs once they're built...that can pose a problem. I don't feel that way about pieces assembled using this product.

There is a Science Center for Kids near my house that had a TON of these out for the kids to be able to experiment with and my son fell in love with them. I had no idea they were available for purchase until I stumbled across them on Amazon and decided to scoop them up for a Christmas gift. He loved building with them! Now they may not be a permanent replacement for his LEGOs, but they are a nice change for him when he's in the mood for something different.

I highly recommend this product!

Zoobs are a good addition for any builder
by Avid Reader (5 out of 5 stars)

Zoobs are a good addition for any builder. My son LOVES to build, we have lots of different building sets. We now own three sets of Zoobs. This one, the 75 piece, and the fast track. This set gives you plenty to start with and maybe not even add further to. The 75 piece is a little small for a starter. The fast track is nice to add wheels to an existing set.

pros-

Zoobs are really great, you can build tons of things, they move, they are chunky which helps little hands. They are a different type of building toy at a really great price and go on sale often. The zoobs stay together and do not fall apart unless you are trying to dismantle it, this is great for builders that might knock their piece over. The clicking noise the toy makes when moving or bending is perfect for kids and not annoying to adults. This toy appeals to all age levels. The mini booklet of ideas has a very cool and detailed dinosaur build in it and it shows you how intricate the zoobs can be, we are still on necklaces and cell phones. :)

Cons-

The container with this set is top heavy so spills happen. The toy is a little tough to pull apart. It is not as hard as trying to get a little tiny Lego off another Lego, but it is a little tough. Children will get the hang of it just like they did when they started pulling apart Legos.

You should try this toy if you are looking for a new building set. We have Magformers, superstructs, Tinkertoys, quercetti, all different Legos, wedgits, and blocks. These are up there on the list of toys my 5 and 7 year old will play with. They did not fall flat as some other building toys did. Great gift too.

Amazing

Love these!! I wasn't sure how most of my kids would like these. We have kids from ages 2 to 14.

I thought they looked so nest so I decided to buy them anyways.

I'M SO GLAD I DID. They were a hit.

My kids love them. It comes with instructions to make some really cool things along with basic ways to fit the peices together.

There are instructions for easy things and advanced. And it's just enough to get them used to using them and letting their imagination go.

My kids love to build and br creative. If that yours them they will love these.

I can't speak good enough things about them.

Love zoobs. I have 5 kids from 4 months ...

Love zoobs. I have 5 kids from 4 months to 10 years and they all love playing with Zoobs. They are organized by color so the child knows if they need a piece with a certain end on it they can quickly find it. Lots of ideas and instructions for building in the books that come with it. The books progress in dificulty beginning with how to snap the Zoobs together and use them to their full potential, unlocking creative play for the child without always needing patterns and instructions. Highly reccommend.

I can't find anything negative about this product

It's unique and my four year old and five year old love it. We just got it so maybe it's the "new" factor but I don't think so. We bought four of the various sets so they would have lots of wheels, the robot parts with pullback wheels and the remote control bug thing. The pieces are easy to snap together and separate. They're brightly colored. They foster creativity. The mobility of the finished designs make for a different kind of block set. I highly recommend this.

Wonderful way for children to stretch as they play.

I bought this to give a 6-year-old as a birthday gift. The set was an enormous hit, not only with the birthday child, but also 8-yr-old sibling and all the neighborhood children, including one about age 12. Unlike other building kits, this allows the user to be creative, imaginative, and to have fun, rather than putting together a set design. There was a great deal of competition among the children for the various pieces, and the only problem was each builder wanted his or her own kit. I have since purchased four other ZOOB sets as gifts and I may even get a set just for me and my husband to play with.

My kids love these!

This is a toy that is played with by them daily and I love watching them create new things. Our son is 5 and has come up with some pretty awesome and amazing creations, he loves to go through the guides and try and replicate them and he does quite well. My daughter who is 2 and half can't follow the guides but loves to try and create what her brother has made. Neither of them really struggle to use the pieces, I was actually quite surprised to see her so easily popping the pieces on and off... Now this might sound confusing but I say this because the pieces don't just easily come apart but when you are trying to build it's relatively easy to pop them on and off. But when they are together they don't just easily come off unless you are trying to take them apart.

If you are on the fence about these pick them up they are great!

I am the cool uncle for having these at my house when he comes over! It is the first thing he asks f

My nephew absolutely loves these Zoobs. The things that he creates are insane and he has such a blast doing it. He is 5 years old and when I dump this box out, it keeps him occupied for hours. It is so fun to watch his little mind work and to see the ideas that he comes up with. Great way to spark creativity! I am the cool uncle for having these at my house when he comes over! It is the first thing he asks for.

Creative building for builders 5 and up
by P. SOO (5 out of 5 stars)
January 1, 2011

We bought these for our 5 year old son on his birthday. It's been two months and he still loves to play with them. This is great for kids who love to build and enjoy the challenges of building. My son is big on building things - he started with Mega blocks a 1, Lego Duplo blocks at 3, the smaller Lego blocks and Magna Tiles at 4, and Lego Hero Factory and Zoob at 5. we've always encouraged him to learn how to build on his own. There was a little bit of a learning curve at the beginning since these connect differently then blocks, but he figured it out. He's built the t-rex, mtorcycle, bug, crown from the instructions as well as his own stuff. He also plays independently. So, if this sounds like the kid you're thinking of getting these for, go for it! If the child isn't quite ready for independent play, you might not want to get these unless you're ready to constantly help them wit these.

Pros:
-Nice colorful instructions with varying levels of difficulty so the kids can gradually grow in their building skill
-Many different attachment possibilities
-Fairly sturdy pieces. None have broken so far
-Can make accessories for pretend play
-Good amount of pieces to build with
-pieces are large enough that littles toddlers can't swallow. We have a 14 month toddler who would put them in her mouth. Pieces are about 5/8" x 2".

Cons:
-Storage container may be cute and strong, but not shaped for optimal storage and has sharp edge. We quickly moved the set to a store bought box. Maybe the coainer can serve as a narrow trashcan.
-Pieces require a considerable amount of force to click together. Thus it is not appropriate for kids 5 and under. They may get their fingers pinched ( happened to our 3 year old).
