Works Great for Large Grey Maine Coon, Not So Much with Small Black Cat

While this automatic sensor works perfectly with my huge grey Maine Coon Cat, it does not detect my smaller jet black 5-month-old cat. Even if he does get bigger, I still don't think this sensor will turn on when he goes under it because of his black fur. It is disappointing because he loves to drink from it so I have to trigger the button on for him and turn it off when he's done drinking.

Update 7-13-18: While the sensor still doesn't work for my black cat, I learned that I can push the button to turn it on and it shuts off on its own after a few minutes. It's still disappointing that it doesn't work for both cats (I hope the manufactures can work on fixing that) but at least I know it will shut off after a while if I forget to turn it off when the black cat is drinking from it.

More about the cats. They have a fascination for the faucet. They turn their noses up at the water bowl after its been sitting a few hours. (WHAT, did it get stale already??) So I thought, ok, instead of standing here like a moron attending to the dripping faucet so I don't forget to turn it off after they are done drinking, Ill get this. Because once I actually stood there like a moron with my hand out letting water collect in it so they could drink from my HAND. It had gone too far. So I figured this would rescue me from my subservient moron-hood.

It is solid and well made. It works. it works too well. Puss, puss, puss, puss and puss (there are 5) learned to use it right away. The first day they were happy to drink from it. The second day they would go turn it on whenever they would get bored laying around or trying to bum food. So EVERY TIME any of them were bored they would go turn this on just to watch it. They wouldn't drink, they would just keep sticking a paw or nose under it, 'making it go' and then watch the water. Then do it again. And again. I felt bad our cats were so bored they resorted to watching water run. I took it off the downstairs faucet and put it in our bedroom bathroom instead. Where --I-- am using it, muahahaha.

So for, so good! My husband installed, so it must've been easy! My cat took to it immediately! The only way he will drink water is from bathroom faucet and this is perfect.

I bought this to use for my cats. They LOVE fresh water. I kept turning it on for them...then leaving the room, and forgetting I left the water running! As if that wasn't bad enough with regard to water loss...the worst came when one of my cats learned how to turn on the faucet himself! So...in sort of a panic, I began researching possible solutions. This faucet has solved both issues. 1) They can drink WHENEVER they wants to. 2) Even when the the one cat moves the faucet handle, the water won't run and run. It does change the water pressure (and temperature, as he turns on the hot water), but at least it's not constantly running. My ONLY issue with this faucet is that my cat is mostly Black fur. Because if this, it seems sometimes the sensor doesn't sense him. Luckily he has some white across his face/cheeks, and his paws, so he is learning how to get around it...and knows which way to position himself to get his fresh water serving!

On demand Cat fountain.

Purchased this for our bathroom to save water when giving our 4 cats a drink and now they can have a drink on demand. Works great! Needed to adjust install procedure. It came with an additional thicker washer that was required for our faucet but had to remove the installed washer with screen. Simply dropped in screen and thicker washer on top of screen and used included wrench for tightening nozzle. 1 year warranty will see how it goes.

Got this for my silly cat, who ONLY drinks from the faucet, or licks the tub after a shower. It has been entertaining training him to use it, but so far so good! I've tried everything else to get him to drink more water, to no avail....The unit was easy to install and set. I'm curious how long the batteries last with normal use.. I'll report back in a few months.

I bought this so my cat could have a drink of fresh water whenever he wanted. It sits too low in the bathroom sink for Paddy to drink from so I had to move to the kitchen sink. Not an ideal location but it works. The only issue is that it makes a noise when it senses and that startles Paddy and he sometimes hesitates and walks away. He's getting used to the noise so he'll sip longer now.

Easy to install and works great. However, I'll be returning it since I purchased it for my cat and she's afraid of the clicking noise the faucet makes when it turns on. I'm really bummed out about it because this would be a purrfect solution for her drinking from the sink.

It works as expected, however I didn't see the fine print that dark colored objects won't activate the sensor. I have an all black cat and it does not activate when he is near it at all. However, there is a feature that if you press the button it will run for 3 minutes. I can at least turn it on and not worry that I will forget to turn it off.
