decent battery storage solution
by Informed Consumer (4 out of 5 stars)
June 13, 2016

I bought this unit to replace another model of the Range Kleen battery organizer I owned. The reason being that this unit sacrifices several slots of lesser used battery types (like 9v, C and D) for significantly more AA and AAA slots (which I consume more regularly). On the whole, this unit is comparable to the older unit with a few significant differences to point out.

First and foremost it seems this unit has fixed a lot of the issues the older unit had with vertical wall mounting. The batteries now sit at a slight upward angle as opposed to 90° horizontal, making it significantly less likely (almost impossible) that the batteries will slide out and fall to the floor. Secondly the disk battery storage solution has been improved by replacing the old tray with a new basket on a swivel post to ensure they are always upright. It's still somewhat awkward to use, but definitely an improvement over the old design that was a nightmare in the vertical mount position.

Aside from that the unit's construction is a little beefier than the old one. It certainly seems there is more material used here as the batteries sit about 1/4" deeper in slots than on the previous model. Also the mounting holes, which were a major concern for me as the older one always seemed a bit weak, have been recessed into the battery slots where there is more supporting plastic.

Overall it seems this unit is intended more for vertical mounting whereas the other unit had flaws in that area. Both are good units and I would recommend both. In fact, I will still be keeping the other unit and simply using it in a different location.

Bottom line, if you're looking for a battery storage solution, be it in a drawer or mounted on a wall, this is a good option

Very Happy! GREAT GIFT for New Home or Weddings
by Donna Jean (with Troy),Top Contributor: Pets (5 out of 5 stars)
May 28, 2015

Purchased this item on May 14, 2015.

So very happy with this purchase!

I read nearly ALL reviews before purchasing, and am very happy I did not let the negative comments sway me away. Upon re-reading reviews AGAIN, I've noticed that the majority of negative / neutral reviews (3 stars or LESS) were "older review" dates. If you review by "most recent" you'll see satisfaction is GREATLY improved in more recent year/s. Obviously, the design has been greatly improved / modified in more recent year(s) vs. reviews as far back as 2006 to 2012 (+/-) which had the majority of the complaints.

Please note that the dimensions posted (12" x 12") is NOT correct - image clearly shows rectangle shape, not square. Mine measures 11" x 6" - was a pleasant surprise for us as it fits inside our "battery drawer" with room to spare to keep our three rechargeable battery chargers. Tho, hanging on the wall would work nicely for us, too. NOTE: I would not hang it onto a cabinet door, as a loaded battery organizer is quite heavy & could cause damage to the hinges.

Battery Organizer is designed to hold the batteries at a "tilt" (slightly aiming upwards) and when hung at the 90-degree angle (flat against wall) this allows for secure retention of all batteries. I'm not good with "angles" but I'd estimate that when I held the rack tilted forward to approx. 75-degree angle, that's when the 9-volt batteries would slide out - others still remained. So I feel confident about hanging this organizer on the wall, but still would not hang on a door (or cabinet door). To do so would risk the possibility of batteries falling out with the motion of opening / closing the door. Would be horrible to have a battery fall unnoticed onto floor & have someone slip on it - especially if near stairs. Best to be "safe, not sorry", right?!

Battery Organizer comes with three screws & three anchors, and you'll find the organizer is designed with three screw holes: top of rack (tester = top) has two holes found inside the top AAA row (far left & far right spots), the third hole is found within the bottom AAA spot, located between D & C battery areas.

Battery Tester is a handy little feature - mine works well for my desired purpose: to check if battery is usable. Sometimes we have 'slightly used' batteries mixed with the new; sometimes 'dead' get added in there too; and for rechargeable battery testing too. Sometimes a battery is still usable but doesn't have enough charge left for a "big draw item" (small clock vs. large mechanical item) - tester allows me to see if there's still some charge left to be used. Also, I've found rechargeable batteries to be a huge nuisance... until now! Are they charged? Did they take or hold a charge? Is it the battery or the item that is faulty? With this handy little tester, which is readily found & easily used (removable, too!), it removed all the guess work! For example, found I had one rechargeable AAA that wasn't taking a charge. HOWEVER, if you're looking for a professional / commercial grade tester - this likely won't fit your needs. It met & exceeded my needs & expectation.

Organization; Safety; Convenience; Great Price (under $15); Practical; Useful - what more could you ask from such an item?

Adding this to my GREAT gift-able item list...

great for Father's Day; House-warming / New Home Gift; Wedding Gift... really, just about ANY occasion and for ANYone! Loved the suggestion another reviewer gave: "filling with batteries" as part of the gift-giving. Tho, my budget likely swing only "partial fill". ;)

UPDATE: October 31, 2016 - only one new complaint - this handy organizational item is making it much to convenient for EVERYONE in our household (and some of our visiting family members, too) to locate and take our batteries! LOL

Has been utilized for just over 17 months and it's still working great. Only tiny issue, one of those "visiting family members" didn't realize how the tester was to "slide up & off" the top of the organizer, and used too much force (man-handled!) pulling it off. Nothing broke, but they did separate the tester into two parts. Simple fix, just glued it back together - still works just fine. Guess it's time to find a new "hiding place" for my battery organizer!

Wow! You read my complete review? :D

No battery tested included and seller unresponsive to requests for replacement!

I received the item and was OK with it except that it didn't come with the batter tester. It said in the description that it included the tester so I turned the box upside down looking for it. When I was satisfied that it hadn't fallen out, I contacted he seller asking to send me just the battery tester. Five days later, still no response back from the seller and I have no choice but to return this item.

Be careful if you buy this product. It is not returnable. My battery tester missed from the order. I have to buy a battery tester.

Fabulous, Fabulous, Fabulous!
by LiviLooJ2 (5 out of 5 stars)

Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous! This case is fabulous. The fact that it comes with a battery tester makes it even more fabulous. It fits perfectly in a flat document storage bin I own, and has totally eliminated the perpetual question of whether or not batteries are still good. I used to try to keep brand new batteries in their packaging to help distinguish them from the used batteries that are left around the house from time to time by the kids. This organizer allows me to just throw all of the batteries into the storage case and test for charge just before putting them into a device. I use more button cell batteries than this case will hold, so keeping the battery storage case in a document storage bin works perfectly for me and easily integrates into the rest of my office supplies. The battery storage case even comes with wall mounting screws and wall anchors. I didn't use the screws and anchors, so i can't comment on how sturdy they are. They look like your average screws and anchors though. Securely packaged and arrived on-time. I would definitely recommend this to friends and family and would buy again if needed.

Something So Cheap and Little Made Such a HUGE Difference!
by Amanda S. Michniewicz (5 out of 5 stars)
November 2, 2013

Something so simple saved me an entire drawer's worth of space! I can't believe how simple it was to install (did it myself instead of waiting for my husband to cross it off his honey-do list)! We had a battery drawer in the den desk, but it was a mess! Opened battery packages, half of them had new batteries, other batteries floating around loose in the drawer all willy-nilly, all different sizes and brands mixed together. It was an eyesore, and a pain every time I had to look for batteries. Now, thanks to this little helper, our batteries are organized and easy to find and grab, right inside the basement stairs doorway. The wattage tester is super helpful, and I was able to toss out half of the batteries we'd had that were dead or nearly dead from being old or accidentally put back with the new batts instead of into recycling. It feels a little thin and flimsy, but it just holds the batteries, you don't move or bend it, so it's moot. So glad I bought this; it's fantastic!!

Unit was not as advertised. Beware of possible bait and switch.
by Lisa List (2 out of 5 stars)

I'm a bit miffed because I paid $20 all together for what was supposed to be an 82 slot organizer but was quite surprised to have received an almost identical looking 66 slot. I might not have been so disappointed but the 66 slot unit wastes valuable space with 9 volt slots and a button cell drawer. I brought it up to the reseller but they dismissively brushed me off and said I should contact Amazon because it was Prime fulfillment. It looks a lot like false advertising or bait and switch to me. Also, the reseller should care about whether their customers are actually getting what they pay for regardless of Amazon Prime fulfillment. At the time I couldn't even exchange it because the 82 unit was supposedly "out of stock."

I really needed the 82 unit, didn't want to return what I received because it was needed right away even if it was inadequate for my needs. The seller was As Seen on TV Guys, they don't appear to care about my transaction nor do they seem concerned about customer service. From their responses I would have to say that the reseller doesn't care one bit about the transaction, they got their money, that appears to be all that matters to them.

Buyer beware. My unit was clearly marked 66 on the packaging but I paid for an 82.

Organizes batteries (tester sucks!) see video
by Taylor (5 out of 5 stars)
October 11, 2016

The battery tester that comes with it is crap, do NOT buy this thinking you're getting an organizer and a battery tester. I already have a battery tester I trust, I just wanted the organizer. See video for demo of battery tester.

Plenty of room for everything except D batteries, but most people probably don't need tons of Ds so 6 is plenty. Besides, more would take up more room than it's worth.

I put used batteries in upside-down, just a suggestion.

Good Case, Bad Tester
by Aaron (3 out of 5 stars)
February 16, 2019

This is a nice, compact way to store a bunch of batteries in a fairly small place. The storage unit itself seems pretty well thought out, and I think it should be durable for it's intended purpose. The battery tester, however, is pretty bad. My first one showed up with the tester missing entirely. My replacement came with the bracket that attaches it to the holder broken off, and the tester loose inside the shipping bag. I ended up just gluing/fixing the second just to be don't with the hassle of returning until I get a good unit. It also seems to be inaccurate as it shows my freshly charged new batteries as "low". I really didn't care about the tester anyway, and just wish they made a similar product without it for a little less money. If you like the idea of this case, but don't care about having a tester, I guess I'd still recommend this because I currently can't find anything better for the money.

I love it!!
by Metlcrash (5 out of 5 stars)

I got 1 of these today and hung it in the laundry room. I tested every battery for miles!!!!! I love it. I just ordered another one to put right beside it since I still have batteries left. I even bought an 8 pack of 9V since i didn't have any and I couldn't stand looking at the thing without any in it. I need some C's.

I sure hope the one 1 just ordered looks just like the one I got today. Mine looks like the one shown in the drawer in the main photos of the item. I read some reviews that said batteries fit too tight. That is not a problem with any of the slots in mine. I could not be happier.
