Good, could be better

I've used these several times so far and find them useful and fairly accurate as to the "done-ness".

Couple of critiques:
- I wish it showed actual temperatures on the dial, it just gives a range from "rare", "medium rare", etc...If you're looking for precision, look elsewhere.
- The stem is very long, I've had some of these button ones in the past with a much shorter stem. The long stem makes it tricky to ensure you are in the center of the meat except on very thick cuts (over 1 inch).

Overall, for around 10 bucks, I'm pleased.

Disappointingly Inaccurate

I picked these little bad boys up because a family member had something similar and they worked and they were awesome! His steaks are perfect everytime. Unfortunately the version I got here are disappointingly inaccurate. We have ruined more steaks by over cooking them based on the inaccurate thermometer than we had ever messed up in the past. I'm going back to the time method, vs thermometer.

The photo and description of what I ordered was 4 Steak buttons. I ordered 5 packs of 4, expecting 20 steak buttons total. Each package contained 2 poultry buttons and 2 steak buttons. The order options do not provide an option to contact the seller or ask for a replacement. So my only option is to return them. It's a shame because I know this is a good product. Just wish I could get the items as described.

I thought I was ordering steak thermometers for my family members who liked them grilled to different degrees of doneness. But of the 4, 2 are for poultry, and I only cook that in the Instant Pot. Oh well. They seem to work well.

I received this product today and the instructions are backwards on the box and I wasn't able to read it. Also, I used it and it did not work properly. I am returning this product ASAP.

These are just what I wanted. I bought them for a friend, who BBQ's just about everything and he uses them on our steaks. Everyone wants their steak cooked, rare, medium or well and we are all happy with the results. They are pretty much and instant read, but I've seen him leave them in the steak until it read what he needs.

Does the job well. Maybe a bit on the conservative side -- that is, when it gets to the "done" line the chicken might be a tad overdone, but better safe than sorry. My only problem is I keep losing them!

Readings are random. Does NOT work!

Would be great if it worked. Temp readings are all over the scale and in no way accurate. No matter where it is placed (following instructions or even randomly placed) the readings will bounce from zero to max to halfway back to zero. Completely random readings. Junk!
