Does the job, but hard to clean

Works as advertised. Very handy for cooking veggies on the grill. But it's a major b***h to wash. Food stains stay on, and don't wash out.

The right size for three burner Webbers
by outwest (5 out of 5 stars)
March 25, 2016

There are quite a few veggie grill baskets out there, even from Webber. Some cover the entire surface of the grill making cooking anything else difficult. Some are too small to fit a decent amount of small things. This one hits right in the middle. I have a three burner webber, which is not huge.

This grill basket is just big enough to fit long things like asparagus, high enough to hold a volume of stacked things without stuff falling out, but is still small enough that it covers only about 1/4 of the grill. See the pictures. What I really like is that this lets me run the front burner on high for searing meat, while leaving the back burners lower so I do not totally char the veggies. The slots on it are also nice: they have many openings, but with the slit-like openings allow for minimal droppage while still being sturdy.

In all, the perfect size webber grill basket for my grill.

The best for grilled veggies
by Andrea (5 out of 5 stars)

Love it. Put this on the grill to heat up. Cut up into large pieces onion, zucchini, mushrooms. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic salt. Drizzle with olive oil and toss well. Take the veggies out to the grill and dump them into the basket. Turn heat to medium. Close the lid and check and stir every 4 or 5 minutes. Remove from the grill when veggies are tender and onions beginning to caramelize. I transfer the basket to an old cookie sheet using pot holders to carry it into the kitchen. (The basket is hot and oily and messy). The veggies taste great and are so easy. Clean the pan in the sink and you are ready for the next time. You will not regret it. My basket has a gold patina from the heat and the oil which is not a problem for me. the holes let the heat in but are small enough to keep the veggies in, especially if you chop coarsely.

A great way to cook healthy
by Jeanne (5 out of 5 stars)

I'm still gearing into using this but it's a great piece! Definitely pre-heat the pan before adding your veges/meat but don't spray the pan after it's been pre-heated on the grill. Non-stick sprays are a bit flammable spraying on top of the grill (my dumb). I was surprised at how little oil was needed to cook my vegetables and I had no sticking problems at all with this pan. It cleaned up nicely but it did darken a bit after the first use. This held more than I thought and if you're using it to cook veges as an add-on to your grilled meat, I estimate that you can easily get enough in this pan to feed 6 as a side dish.

July 2019 - This pan has been such a hit with all the dinner guests that I ordered a second one because our numbers often exceed 10 for a meal. The patina does darken but I don't consider this to be a problem. I also don't find it necessary to spray the pan as there is no sticking when using olive oil/vegetable oil when roasting vegetables. The vegetables roasted in this pan always get more compliments than the rest of the meal. Go figure :)

Great griller

I absolutely love this product. Unlike some of the other reviewers I have not been able to keep it in pristine condition. Mine has developed a patina from a lot of use. This is not affected the performance in any way. This is a great tool for grilling of vegetables. I actually prefer it to a regular saute pan, as it permits the juices to drain out the bottom so that the vegetables actually Grill and don't boil. This gives it a unique flavor that can't be beat.

Great product but measurements wrong
by J Walk (4 out of 5 stars)

The dimensions given in Amazon's detailed description (13-1/2-inch by 15-inch by 2-1/8-inch) are the same as on Weber's product packaging. But both are wrong. The actual dimensions are quite different: at the bottom it measures about 8-1/2 by 8-1/2 inches and at the top (excluding the handles) about 11-3/4 by 11-3/4 inches. Adding in the handles adds about another 2 inches to the length of one side of the basket, bringing it to about 11-3/4 by 13-3/4.

It would be a good idea for Weber to change the information on its packaging and for Amazon to correct its product description. We almost did not order it because we thought 15 inches might be too large for our grill.

That said, we are very happy with the product as it is. So our rating for the product is high. Would have been 5 stars if the product information had been correct.

The perfect grill pan!
by Casey's Mom (5 out of 5 stars)

This is the perfect size pan. I have the smaller Weber 2 burner grill (Spirit II) and this fits on one side and leaves room for a couple burgers, etc on the other side. I also bought the smaller pan and a larger one, but this one is the size I reach for most often.

It holds a ton of veggies. I roast veggies in the oven all the time but nothing compares to the smoky flavor from the grill! I toss them with olive oil and spices first. And sometimes sprinkle parm cheese on them. Yum. If I'm in a hurry sometimes I just partially defrost frozen veggies and throw them in with olive oil and spices and they come out fantastic too. I've also made chicken kabobs and shrimp in it. All turn out great. Someone else mentioned to get the pan hot first, then throw in the food, and I agree. But I've also done it both ways with equal success.

As for cleaning, I soak it in sudsy water after it cools, then scrape off excess charred stuff and throw it in dishwasher. Easy peasy. Doesn't look perfect, but in this case, as in most cases. looks arent everything! It does a great job and is well-made and sturdy. What's not to like?

Edited to add: I got a pack of copper scrubbers made out of copper thread or whatever, and they work amazing on these pans. Give pan a good soak. Scrub with the copper scrubber pad with soap and water. Throw in dishwasher. Practically perfect. And really, after cleaning with the copper scrubber pad, throwing the pan in the dishwasher is really unnecessary. Game changing! Love these pans...

Favorite grill accessory.

How does anyone grill without this?! Grilling saves a lot of kitchen clean up for me. With this we barely cook anything inside in the summer months! We can do all veggies in this... we typically do a medley of zucchini, squash, and red onion with a bit of olive oil, salt, and pepper. We also do shishito peppers in this basket - it's great!

I do put it in the dishwasher and I haven't had any issues. It has darkened with use, but it still works the same as when I got it.

Veggie the H-E-Double Hockey Sticks Out of the Grill
by Justin B. (5 out of 5 stars)

YES! This thing is great. Always did veggie logs with the tin foil, then the wife says, "Hey, you should get one of those baskets." I say, "The heck you say?" I found this bad boy and now we fajita-ing like crazies! I love how my veggies now taste like they were on a grill and not steamed. Tried some shrimps in it too and that was soooooo much easier than skewering them little rascals. 10 out of 5 stars!

Grills vegetables well and should last a lifetime
by J. Young (5 out of 5 stars)
January 8, 2016

This is the best and sturdiest vegetable grill basket that I have owned. I have used it many times, and it does what it's supposed to do very well. It's made of high-grade and thick stainless steel. I like the shape and spacing of the vents, which disallow vegetables from slipping through as long as they're cut accordingly. The one detractor is that there are some burned-on debris on the basket that I haven't been to remove, but it doesn't effect cooking or taste. This should last a lifetime. Highly recommended.
