Solid construction, poor electronics
by James C. (2 out of 5 stars)

This air hockey table is really nice and is comprised of some high quality materials. It is steady and level during play with the tabletop being durable enough to hold up during games. Set-up was also straightforward. The shortcoming of this table is the hook-up of the fan to provide the air; it is haphazardly wired to the bottom of the table so the wires can rip off and disconnect without much jarring. I had to improvise and make a bracket for the battery box to stay affixed to the bottom of the table but that did not always stay in place and it made changing the batteries an awkward task. Despite soldering the wires back into place a few times the connections still came apart. It is a tragic flaw to an otherwise solid, nice-looking air hockey table. There is no option for an AC adapter either so you are stuck with the battery set-up. It is a shame because air hockey without the air is not much fun.

Great game; cheaply made

My 5 year old son and I play this all the time! It's a ton of fun and gives you a smaller version of the game you might play at a chuckey cheese. The playing surface is well made but the underside is made out of particle board. The fan and the electric transformer are attached to the particle board with screws and every single screw has now stripped out on it's own so we have had to gerry rig it so that the fan and transformer stay in place. If the fan isn't solidly attached the air coming through the holes isn't strong enough to keep the puck floating above the surface and it impedes the play of the game. Aside from that (and if you are OK with engineering a new way of attaching the fan) the game is a lot of fun!

Good for the price

PROS:

Comes mostly assembled, which was great for putting it together on Christmas Eve.

The little legs makes it comfortable to play either on the floor or on a table

CONS:

The motor is battery-powered, so as soon as the batteries start to go, the air flow isn't strong and you end up with some dead spots

The scoring markers are over the goals and my kids knock them while they're playing quite a bit
I think an electric powered motor may have worked better, but you get what you pay for- this is a decent table for $69.

I love this!

This is long enough that you can extend your arm to hit the puck and not be on the other player's side. I was looking for a bigger version than smaller ones I've seen for little kids, but not huge like more serious ones. This is a perfect balance. I love the look of it. It was a little confusing how to put it together but we got it eventually. The one thing I'd have to say negative is that the pieces used for hitting the puck are a little small in my hand. Otherwise I'm really satisfied and definitely recommend it!

Love it! Kids love it!

I bought this as a gift for my niece and nephew. I have to say, this is probably one of the better toys that I have given to them. They love playing air hockey at the arcade. Now, they can do it at home. The table is actually well built and easy to assembly. It actually connects to power and the air pockets on the surface of the table blow air to actually make the puck glide on the table. It's soooo much fun and very entertaining. The kids love it. Would definitely recommend it.

air fan doesn't work but the unit is still fun for a child

My son likes it a lot so I haven't bothered returning it. The air does nothing, don't even bother plugging it in. You can hear the fan running and feel some light air but it is not nearly strong enough to cause the puck to float. There is no difference in movement with the air on or off.

Fun for the whole family

OK, I bought this for our 5 yr old son, figuring it might entertain him for a little while, and have been pleasantly surprised. It's actually fun! Works well, the forced air causes the puck to 'hoover' and you can really whiz it across the table. It's light enough that I can pick up the entire thing and move it if I need to. But large enough to actually get a bit of a game going. We're enjoying it.

Worked right out of box, but goals keep puck from entering...
by kecs (4 out of 5 stars)

7, 6, 3 and 40+ year olds having a blast. Worked right out of the box. Like other review our knuckles scraped on score/goal piece. Gotta try the band-aids recommended to cover them! The only other issue is that puck can rarely really fly all the way into the goal. It gets blocked about 1/2 way through by the plastic gutter/catcher. I assume it is supposed to go through the goal and then get caught in the little gutter. It's kind of a bummer b/c you don't get that satisfaction of it slamming right on through. It sails through about 1/4 of the time, so trying to figure out how to fix it up to work better. Maybe take off the gutter piece entirely?

Still fun, fan power is fine for us.

Does make you want the full size from the arcade!

Satisfied for the price.

The item arived and assembled very easily in 5 minutes. Inserted the batteries and it did not work. Noticed that the motor was getting warm. dismounted the motor from the base of the unit (4 screws) and adjusted. This may have moved the fan blades an 1/8th of an inch but that was all that was needed. now works fine. the fan blade was hitting the side of the casing and could not rotate. Now it works great but needed some initial TLC to make it work. Noticed that motor would be real easy to replace if it ever burnt out. For the price I am satisfied. May need to be minimally handy to make it work and to maintain.
