Not so much.....
by 2shucazy (2 out of 5 stars)

PRO: amusing, whimsical, handy oz. and ml. markings, convenient beaker shape more useful than (comparable) 2c Pyrex

CON: more delicate than Pyrex, clever markings 'disappear' in dishwasher...so, even though I love the idea of it, as a functional addition to my kitchen my answer to 'do I recommend this?' remains 'not so much.'

Great Conversation Piece
by bluebird76 (3 out of 5 stars)

I love the idea of the "odd" measurement information listed on the measuring cup opposite the proper measurments. I was under the impression that it was made out of heavy duty plastic, not thin glass. I'm afraid to use it while baking or cooking for the fear of it shattering in the food. I washed it by hand and set it on my granite counter top and felt like it would break if set down too hard. I would recommend this as a gift and I will surely use it, but not in it's recommended way. I have started to use it as my flower vase, it sits on our dinner table. That way everyone that comes over can see it and it becomes a great conversation starter.

Unique measurements

I loved the measurement quantity labels and recipes on this unique measuring cup... It will be a great teaching tool in science class or in the kitchen with kids. I regret that it is such a thin gauge glassware as I broke the first one right out of the box and had to order a second... I was so determined to have one... I have it stored in the shipping box, but wished I could display it...

Cool but flimsy
by Elfdale (3 out of 5 stars)

I'm very happy with all the labels that are on BOTH sides of the container. They are interesting and is good at putting things in perspective.

Unfortunately... This is a very flimsy item and I am afraid of putting this container in the hands of a child. I suppose it would depend on the nature of the child but as it was stated earlier, this is definitely not your pyrex measuring cup. This measuring cup needs to be PLACED or SET DOWN everywhere. Dropping cup this is not an option and supervision is required unless your child is much older and can reliably be trusted to handle broken glass without your presence.

Cute, not overly sturdy
by Janee Jarrell (3 out of 5 stars)

Yes, this is dishwasher safe, the glass, that is. But after several months of use, with multiple trips through the dishwasher, the markings got fainter and fainter. Just when we had decided to start hand washing it, I slid it into the sink, and the bottom broke out of it. With that said, I'm going to purchase another pair. My resident geek liked to use the one we had, so I figure I'll have one to keep in reserve for the next time I drop the one in current use into the sink and bust it.

Update, November 2011. Put the next one into the sink to wash and it broke. My resident geek liked it because it's a graduated cylinder. Hence, I'm going to look for a chemistry beaker with English measurements.

I'm done with Fred's measuring cup.

Shuddup ya whiners, it's not a travel mug, merely a beaker.

Everyone seems to be complaining about how fragile it is. Yes, it is rather thin glass, and no, it won't survive a lot of banging around, but how many mugs/beakers are made to be tossed around?

I bought this for my boyfriend almost a year ago for his tea addiction. He loves it. He uses it several times a day to measure water to boil and then to make and drink his tea. (it's really good if you're steeping multiple tea bags simultaneously. If you're ever sick or getting ready for bed, try 1 bag of chamomile+1 bag of mint. I recommend Tazo ("calm" and "refresh"). You can thank me later.) So, either they started manufacturing it more sturdily due to all the complaints (doubtful) or people are a lot rougher with their stuff than they realize.

LOOK, BUT DON'T BUY
by morwynn06 (2 out of 5 stars)

I was so excited about this measuring cup. I needed a 2 cup liquid measure anyway, and this one is super-cute with it's alternative measurements. When you take it out of the box, you can't help but notice how fragile it is. The glass is REALLY thin.I have Pyrex & Anchor Hocking glass measuring cups also, and they are at least twice as thick. I decided I would just be EXTREMELY careful with it, since I was still in love with the idea of this cup. Well, after barely a month of having it, it has just cracked. ***DO NOT BUY THIS*** I am so disappointed, and wish I had gone with my first instinct and just returned the thing.

Cute but too delicate
by Norah Rice (1 out of 5 stars)

I bought this as a gift and it shattered into a fine dust in the box before it was even opened. Cute but the glass is WAY too thin to be of any practical use. VERY disappointed.

Novelty item only
by SilverQueen (2 out of 5 stars)
July 16, 2012

I really liked the item because it is a tall, slim, 2-1/2 cup measuring cup. I just wish it were plastic instead of glass or at least heavy glass like Pyrex. Don't buy it if you plan to use it. It broke the first time I washed it by hand and set it in the dish drainer. Pathetic and Made in China. I'll look for something else.

Creative but poorly executed
by stridesofcobalt (1 out of 5 stars)

This is a brilliant and creative product - great for the geeks out there like me. However, when I received my order I found that one of the printed sides on the glass (the blue lettering) was horribly smudged. I haven't washed it yet but it makes me think that the lettering will probably easily be chipped/washed off. Overall, as I said in the title, it's a fun and interesting item but the one I received was clearly poorly made.
