GREAT SABER for the PRICE!!
by Marty (5 out of 5 stars)

This not a Master Replica's style saber, so don't get it twisted, If you want a MR you will pay much more than the amount you'll pay for the FX but Personally I think Force FX does the best when it comes to Lightsabers. The light imitates powering on and off of the saber by going up and down when turning on and off. The sound affects are realistic when its on and has the hitting sound whenever you bump on something and a Hum when the blade is idled. Also, the Saber will automatically turn itself off when its Idled to long, I guess that's a power saving thing.

I actually have the Anakan, Luke Skywalker, and both sides of the Darth Maul Saber. Another good feature is you can take the saber off and wear the hilt around your sash if your cosplaying as a Jedi. The ones I've seen at the conventions are nice, but if you want to have the realistic sounds and the way the saber turns on and off then this is the route to go. I don't recommend this for dueling, cause you will damage the LED lights. I swing it around, tap it on a few things just to hear the clashing sound, but that's the extent of it.

I would say the weight of the Saber is about 2-3 pounds, and its about 33 inches long, the Hilt is about 11 inches. The Batteries go into the hilt and the sound board comes from the Hilt location as well. It also comes with a stand to mount it on. Not bad when it comes to the authenticity of the design but as I mentioned earlier this is not a MR, and you aren't paying MR prices. I definitely recommend this for any Star Wars fan, By God who doesn't want there own Lightsaber at home to swing around. May the Force Be with you!!

Excellent quality and makes you feel like you really own a true lightsaber.

Ahhh - the Lightsaber - the dream item of all of us that grew up on or love Star Wars. The elegant weapon of choice among the elite Jedi or Sith...and also a weapon that is almost impossible to replicate to what it is really supposed to be. There have been many attempts over the years and I believe this comes closest to date to the real deal.

The quality of the handle is great - all metal and hefty - it feels like a real too. Hasbro placed all kinds of warning stickers that are a pain to remove, so just be warned - once off - they item looks even better - but make sure you have some non-abrasive goo remover.

The effects are great - the quality is excellent. The actual beam lights up and turns off in a very authentic fashion and the color is spot on to the movies. The sound effects could be a bit more clear (they are spot on, but the audio quality could be improved). The light portion is a bit fragile (no hefty role playing or sparing) and looks really cheap when the light is of - but is amazing when on.

Yes this is expensive - but it not a toy - it is the best replica to an iconic symbol of some of the best sci-fi movies (not the new ones, the classic ones) ever made.

Nice for hanging it on your wall
by The Luna family (3 out of 5 stars)

Nice looking + poorly constructed + good electronics + good price ($90.00) = good enough star wars collectible

I ordered it and came with glue marks on the grip. like the one who put the finishing touches on it was too generous with the glue (no, I can't remove them). So I ordered a second one. It again came with some glue marks (less notorious this time) and a damaged screw (not too visible). Since returning it would cost me 27 dollars, I decided to keep both. one to play (and probably destroy in a couple of month) with the kids, and the other to hang on my wall and never touch it again since it seems fragile.

the sounds are cool and the blade is pretty bright. I own other 4 FX lightsabers (2 MR and 2 Hasbro) and this is the only one that has actually disappointed me a bit. But the price is good so it kind of evens the scale.

It looks really good, has a nice weight to it

This thing is not the cheap looking things you see most kids playing with. It looks really good, has a nice weight to it, and and does not seem to be cheaply made. I moved houses and my light saber was unfortunately not treated with the respect it deserved during the move. Glad to say that even through all the abuse it endured, it still survived in-tact with only a few scratches. I had found it in my garage with a few boxes on top of it and was sure it would be broken beyond repair. Luckily she survived and I can now resume irritating my wife with it in my new home

At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi... at last we will have revenge... - Darth Maul
by lordryan1018 (5 out of 5 stars)
August 11, 2015

That was one of the few quotes we got from the Sith Lord Darth Maul (the only good thing that came) from episode 1 the phantom menace. This force fx lightsaber is awesome, so awesome I bought two of them to create Darth Maul's signature doublesaber. As a doublesaber its massive at a length of 7 feet, 4 inches (I'm 5 feet, 10 inches by comparison) and the blades are surprisingly durable, just don't be too abusive when clashing with other objects. The hilt is made of aluminum and puts the plastic lightsabers to shame with quality, craftsmanship, and detail. It should be noted that as a doublesaber it is a TWO HANDED WEAPON swinging it for an extending period of time is enough to be considered a workout. Duel wielding is not recommended due to the weight and length of the individual blades (believe me i tried). It also maybe a good idea to learn some martial arts staff techniques when handling this beast, and to bring out your inner Maul. When in the darkness the lightsaber gives off a solid red glow, but if you look at it through a camera lens it looks like an in movie lightsaber blade (minus the burning through your flesh). Makes all the great lightsaber sounds, and simulates the igniting and retracting effects of a lightsaber. It should be noted that it eats up battery power so make sure to stock up on the AAA batteries. Comes with the stand to place it on display and for storage. Also comes in with the end piece as if it were chopped in half or the connector. If your curious about the allen wrench it comes with its to adjust your connector because when you screw two together it probably wont align. My only criticism is that as a doublesaber is too long to be swung indoors, so you might want to use this outside only even as a single blade. Great product 5/5 worth the money.

As good as it gets!

I am going on 40 and this is the one of the coolest things ever made. I hope that before I die, there are real, working lightsabers. This is as close as you can get to the real thing. I am keeping hope alive!

Anyways...If you want a lightsaber that looks and feels like what you see on the movies, this is as about as close as you can get without paying an arm and a leg. I am not a super geek and this Vader replica is very nice. I don't have any complaints but then again, I just like the Star Wars movies and I don't over analyze any of this stuff. It lights up/Powers down and looks/sounds pretty awesome when it does. Makes me feel like I am 4 years old all over again!

The coolest light saber I have ever held!
by happydad52 (5 out of 5 stars)

This is not your average toy light saber. It's constructed of sturdy metal (hilt) with cool looking switches and it has a good, solid heft to it. When you power it on, it has a very decent volume to the sound effects. The blade actually lights from the hilt going towards the tip as if it were real and when you turn it off, the lights collapses into the hilt. You get all the familiar sound effects just like in the movie. You get the power on, idle hum, blade clash, and then the power off sound. The LED lit blade is extremely bright and has a cool glowing effect. If you or your child is a die-hard Star Wars fan, this is for you/them! Note: This is not for some small child, it should be for those that want a cool keepsake and will treasure and protect it from abuse.

He is absolutely in love with it and is so careful handling it

We purchased it for our 9 year old grandson. He is absolutely in love with it and is so careful handling it. He calls it a "Collector Item" and hopes to have it for years to come. He loves Star Wars and knows all the characters and shows! His father passed away 2 years ago so he has suffered a tragedy.

Thank You for bringing a Big Smile to his face!!

Force FX

This lightsaber is absolutely amazing. I got this for xmas, the ONLY thing that one could complain about is the warning sticker on the hilt leaves a bit of residue. People that rate these sabers low 80% of the time got a defective one that had faulty bulbs in it or whatever. If yours works fine out of the box it will last forever as long as you don't put old/mixed batteries in it or hit stuff with it. If you want a Sith lightsaber this is the best and closest to the real thing in the world unless you spend $500-$800 for a still in box vintage MasterReplica series one. If you have enough shelf space (the blade is about 3 feet long) get the one with the blade attached because the removable ones have a higher chance of defective lights. Every Sith fan should own one of these I highly recommend!

I used to have a MR Darth Vader lightsaber and this one has terrible quality compared to the MR one
by Mr. T (2 out of 5 stars)
January 20, 2015

When Master Replicas went under, Hasbro bought the rights to these lightsabers. I figured everything stayed the same, exact it was sold under the Hasbro name. Boy was I wrong. I used to have a MR Darth Vader lightsaber and this one has terrible quality compared to the MR one. The price is the same, but the chrome, plastic, just aren't good. it's basically like a knock off version. If I had know, I would have just bought a used Master Replicas version on ebay. So if you are interested in these FX sabers, just by the old Master Replicas versions.
