Waterpik is the only one for me --- but not this model

I've been a fan of Waterpik shower heads since I was a teen in the 1980's when my parents got one of the Original Shower Massages. When I got my first apartment I learned that I could NOT go back to a "plain old shower" and from then on, installing my Shower Massage was always my first project anytime I moved. When I bought my first house, I had a wife who insisted that we needed a spa-like shower so I got a rainfall shower head and kinda liked it. I tried 3 or 4 different types before discovering the Waterpik Cascadia with the flex extension arm which became my new first project in any new home and was a non-negotiable when going through my divorce! Joint custody of the kids, but the Waterpik was MINE!!

A few months ago, after almost 15 years my Cascadia developed a leak in the flex arm. I ventured out of my comfort zone and tried a few rainfall heads from different manufacturers looking for a classier vibe than the white plastic that I was replacing, eventually deciding that a Waterpik has to be the solution. I was right --- but sadly this model still didn't measure up. I went back to the Cascadia, but this time I got the model with the chrome finish. I don't know what it is, but whatever makes the Cascadia feel the way it does regardless of the water pressure (and I've lived in places with varied water pressure) should just go into every model the Waterpik makes. #feelitforyourself

Nice upgrade.

Wanted a new shower head for the guest bathroom. The existing one was small and kind of weak. Living in CA we are required to use "low-flow" fixtures. This shower head provides a nice rainfall experience. It's not very strong but it's pleasant and there is more than enough pressure to wash your hair and what not. It is very adjustable with two pivot points. The install took about 5 minutes. The hardest part was removing the existing shower head. This entire shower head is made from plastic but appears to be of good quality. I bought this "Used - Like New" from Amazon Warehouse and couldn't be more pleased with the service and the price paid. I would recommend it.

Yes! Now the other shower is great! Very happy with purchase!

We have a small shower in our lower level bathroom which we use a few days of the week for showing, but I hated it, it was too small and the shower head too low! Being 6'2" and the shower head being at about 5'6" and with a limited directional shower head, that came out at an angle with the pipe. One of the great things about this showerhead things is it's so adjustable. It can be arched up/down and angled too and it can be changed combining different angles. I used some simple plumbers tape to make sure it didn't leak, After wrapping the end of the pipe with the tape, I just twisted it on, turned on the water and I had a shower at or near the top of my head I could step under with a really pleasant spray, about 4 times wider than my old one, retaining the strong shower pressure. I'd buy it again:-).

Perfect for small shower!

I have a small shower stall and the current diagonal shower head installed was in a position where the water hit up against the shower door. I had to quickly jump in the shower so not to get water all over the bathroom floor. Because the shower head was diagonal, it left little room to maneuver or store a shower caddy. This new rain fall shower head eliminated all those problems! I was worried the neck might be too long, sit to high but the base of the neck has a pivotal ball so you can move it in a variety of positions. You can also pivot the shower head as well. It's really easy to install. As far as the water pressure, I have well water and I think the pressure of the shower head is perfect. The shower head itself is a good size as well. I was worried b/c it looked small in the pic. Again, perfect for a small shower space. If looking for something for a tub/shower you might want to consider something with a longer neck. So glad I purchased this shower head, now I get to look forward to more relaxing showers and dry floors!

Fantastic

The size of the head was bigger than I was expecting (I need to be better about reading product information), however, I love it. It rinses my hair quickly, is lovely rainfall and was easy to install. I know some reviews complained about the waterflow, but I think it's great. I had a low flow showerhead previously and it was one of the things I wanted this time to in order to save water. I am able to get thorougly clean and enjoy the shower, which would be my most important goals when taking a shower.

definite improvement but not exactly WOWWW!!

I would say this shower head is obviously much better than a normal shower head and so with that being said it is worth the money. However, I am a perfectionist and expect a product to be better in EVERY way before I spend my money. I cannot get this thing to not leak. I spent almost 2 hours putting it up, taking it down, putting it up, removing things, adding things, not using teflon tape, using teflon tape, not tight enough, so I tight I might break it.... and it STILL drips.

I have installed these things many times before and have never had a problem, which is why this thing frustrated me so much. Why is it leaking??? The manual says don't use teflon tape, but like another reviewer pointed out, I finally had to used it and noticed less dripping after.

I would not buy it again in retrospect and will probably chunk it for a better one after I move, but for now since it is up, YES it has MUCH better flow over the original shower head and I am now glad that it is up.

Needs some minor adjustments for taller folks!

This shower head is a happy cloud of rain that drenches you in happiness! No complaints about the water pressure and assembly is very easy. Took me no longer than 5-10 minutes. However, I wanted the "rain fall effect", but at the highest adjustable point the height of the shower head was at about 5'10". I am over six feet so the first time I tried it, I was extremely sad because I was hunched over trying to fit underneath. I recommend changing out your custom shower arm with an S-arm to get an extra few inches:

Shower Arm S Style Chrome

This one adds an extra 6", but I got mine at home depot for $15 and it adds an extra 8". Changing out the arm took me about an hour because I didn't realize there was caulking behind the arm, but other than that, it was relatively easy. See my picture above.

Just installed this shower head with no problems. I don't have the best water pressure at my house and this shower head doesn't help any. I wouldn't recommend this product to someone that has weaker water pressure. It has a removable flow regulator which I'm assuming is the white plastic piece inside the ball that attaches to the shower pipe. The instructions don't even mention this piece even though it's advertised. Well, I removed it and it doesn't make much if any difference in the water pressure. There is another restrictor that's inside the shower head swivel that some people are drilling out but I haven't gone that far yet. If you take out the removable flow regulator don't forget to put the gasket back inside the piece before reinstalling it to the shower pipe. It'll for surely leak without the gasket. Other than the weak pressure this shower head provides it looks pretty good. I think the attachment between the arm and shower pipe could be more secure. I had to reposition the angle of the arm when tightening it together so it wouldn't leak as well. I dunno.. a lot of things could be better with it but it's only $30.

Update: I ended up having to use Teflon tape around the ring that attaches the arm to the shower pipe because it was leaking when I went to shower the next day. It advertises "No Teflon tape needed!" Haha, yeah well I say go ahead and use it and then don't worry about it.

I also broke out the other water restrictor in the shower head itself. I popped it in and then was able to remove it with a needle nose. Be careful if your doing this to not break it through all the way because then it could possibly get stuck in the shower head. I was worried about that but it broke out fairly easy and wasn't too hard to completely remove. The water pressure now is more like it!! Can't wait to use it now with some decent pressure behind it.

Love The Rainfall Flow
by David Tomb (3 out of 5 stars)

This is a great showerhead and feels wonderful, however it has a couple of design flaws. The face plate doesn't seem to come off to clean the holes when they get clogged with foreign matter. The instructions say to soak it in vinegar to remove hard water buildup. However, I live in an old apartment building and foreign bits often come through the pipes. The only way to clean the clogged holes is to use something to force the foreign items back up into the showerhead, only to have them simply try to escape via another of the many holes. The unique swivel arm, while is a great design allowing for unlimited positions, does not allow for attachment to a shower filter. I'm at a loss. I may try to enlarge the holes just a tiny bit to allow any small bits to pass through without clogging the holes. But, who wants those coming through during their shower? What to do...

Shower head easy to install
by Carol (5 out of 5 stars)

I installed this shower head myself, so it stands to reason it was simple to do. It did not even require plumber's tape. It has just the kind of shower pattern I prefer with the size shower head that fits my shower, so I am happy with it. It is nice to have a new, clean, soothing shower head for so little work!
