She loves her little bedside Stash Pouch
by Bob E. May (4 out of 5 stars)

The reviews on this item were rather sketchy and seemed trivial. My girlfriend loves her bedside organized at all times. We usually go to bed early and have Kindle time whereas we watch TV and spend time reading are Kindle eBooks magazines and even play games. She has a large 10-inch Kindle she got for Christmas and her reliable 7 in as well and like most people that own candles you don't want them flying off the bed or being stashed in a precarious situation. So I got her is cool bedside storage unit where you shove the flap deep under your mattress and box spring and Wallah you have this cool storage pouch on the side of your bed. She keeps her Epens, her Kindles, her medicine, and every little thing she wants bedside and she is very pleased and happy with her Christmas gift. Quality is good, setup was incredibly easy and it was all smiles after that. I highly recommended for anyone going to have a compartmentalised unit bedside.

I bought this because I keep so many things on my bedside table, it always looks cluttered, and I'm forever knocking things onto the floor looking for things at night. I stuck this between my bed and nightstand, so you can't really see it just walking into the room, but it's right at my fingertips. I usually use tissues with the square shape instead of the larger rectangular tissues as shown in the photos - I managed to shove it right down there and I feel like my tissues are more protected from dust that way, anyway. I don't read in bed or anything, but all of the pockets make it easy to have my various nighttime accoutrements (eye drops, throat drops, hand lotion, lip balm) at my fingertips and not cluttering the table or knocked onto the floor! I haven't had any issues with it falling down - the weight of the mattress holds it in place just fine, but then again I don't have anything super heavy in it like books or magazines, so that might make a difference.

Fantastic! Helpful hints included.

LOVE THIS! A few folks mentioned an issue with the bedside caddy being too heavy and as a result falling out. One customer solved the problem by bending the thin metal bar that is at the end of the flap that goes under the mattress. I added a few extras to make the caddy work even better. First, I added two thin 1 lb bars on top of the pad and under the mattress. I also have a 5lb dumbbell plate which is fairly flat and would add more weight to keep the caddy from sliding onto the floor. Also, the pockets are quite deep. This is fine for large items such as my laptop (which it holds no problem). But other items are too small and are buried in the deep pockets. So I used the packaging--packing paper and bubble wrap to put in the bottom of the deeper compartments so smaller items will be closer to the top. I did this to the two pockets in front of the thin, back pocket that fits laptops and other items. Now the items in the separate two compartments are high enough for me to reach them with ease. Maybe my arms are too short. :-)

A waste of time and money (the seams split in the first month)
by Samuel (2 out of 5 stars)

After 3 years, my former bedside caddy, the #2 ranked "Gearbox sand-colored Bedside Caddy," burst at the seams under the weight of my Macbook Air computer, Kindle Fire tablet, and several different remote controls. Upon seeing this black bag ranked as #1 in Amazon sales, I ordered it, thinking that the black color would at least not require cleaning as soon as my previous bag. Indeed, it won't require cleaning, but not because of dirt. The bag burst at the seams during my first month of use.

Even upon opening the package, I could see that the Richards Homeware bag was a dollar-store piece of machine-cut flimsy canvas compared to the identically-priced (in 7/15) Gearbox Bedside Caddy, which is made of rugged material and constructed with professional workmanship. I hoped I was wrong: appearances can be deceptive--perhaps the thin material of the Richards Homewares caddy would prove to be as tough as my first Bed Caddy. After all, it cost as much. No such luck, the seams split even though I lightened up on the gadgets and weight in the bag.

Conclusion: this bag should be going for 3 or 4 bucks instead of a price comparable with that of the vastly superior Gearbox Bed Caddy. In fact, if you plan to use this black bag for anything beyond a few lightweight magazines, I'd advise not wasting any time on it.

CAVEAT (applying to all of these bags): the flap alone will not keep the bag in place. Rather than wait for the flap to slip out from the mattress and write another complaint, do the obvious by immediately fastening the flap to your lower mattress. I use 3 giant-sized 4" safety pins purchased from Amazon. You may prefer the suggestions of other reviewers, some of whom prefer a velcro system. But please, no more complaints about a "slippery flap." It's the material, the durability, the actual usability, the size of compartments , the quality of the stitching that should receive all of your attention--not the flap!

If your goal is to purchase for less than $10 a bedside caddy that will last for more than a couple of months, you would be poorly advised to purchase the caddy that Amazon is currently listing as "#1 Best Seller." Such a claim always invites the inverse one: "Amazon's Worst Value."

Very pleased and would purchase again
by JL (4 out of 5 stars)

I ordered this bedside storage caddy 6 months ago and have been using it daily since it arrived. I am extremely pleased with its size, layout, and durability. I have been loading it with heavy items and yet it is still in perfect condition; it has neither stretched nor torn. The only difficulty that I have had is that, since the items I keep in there are so heavy, after about 2 weeks it tends to slide out of it's optimal position. There is a metal bar running the length of the end that goes between your mattress and box spring and I do bend that into a slight zig zag shape. This helps a great deal and would probably do the trick for anyone who did not load theirs as heavily as I do. However, because I will continue to put heavy books in mine, I have decided to place a strip or two of the loop side of Velcro all along the edge that goes under the mattress to give it a little more traction. I am incredibly pleased with this item and would not only purchase it again but have recommended it to family and friends.

I paid full price for this item and my review was objective and unbiased.

Don't waste your money

Flimsy, doesn't hold as much as photo shows. Within two weeks, the wires were poking out from the channels they were sewn into. Sags and slides off mattress springs, no matter how far under you try to tuck it. Cheaply made.

Slides out
by Avid Reader (3 out of 5 stars)

Purchased to use for a loft bed, tried it on a regular mattress/box spring and if filled with tissues and items similar to those shown, it won't stay between the mattress and box spring and falls to the floor. The tiny metal rod on the flap that goes between the bed, just doesn't have a large enough diameter to keep from pulling out. Maybe a rubber backing to keep from sliding too? Even better would be a longer flap to go under the mattress. My intent is to put grommets in it and loop it over the rail to work for my intentions. It isn't the thickest material and isn't supported with a rigid frame so, empty, it's pretty floppy.

It's ok.

There aren't a lot of products that do what this product is made to do, so I didn't have a lot of options when buying this. I purchased it for my lofted bed at school. It's a good size but I agree with other reviews in that once you put some items in the organizer, it completely folds in on itself. It also will not stay tucked under the mattress with anything inside of it (and there are no metal poles included inside the box to make the organizer stay put. I ended up placing the flap under the frame of the bed and it has been staying well and holding weight. Any high end brand of tissues won't fit comfortably in the tissue slot and the box ends up getting squished and deformed the organizer. After a few weeks of use, one of the mesh pockets broke. It's definitely not a great product but it seems to be the only reasonably priced item that serves this purpose so I'm not too upset but not impressed by any means.

Great 6 pocket bedside storage compartment
by Biggdubbya (4 out of 5 stars)
December 9, 2017

I am actually pretty happy with this little 6 pocket bedside storage compartment that is tucked in between the mattress and boxsprings on my bed, but it really should have been designed to have a rubber pad that is what gets tucked in between the mattress and boxsprings, as that would more than likely stop it from sliding out from in between the mattress and boxsprings causing it to fall to floor. That would make this a definite 5-star product, but until then I can only give it 4 stars.

Not as Imagined but Still Very Good Solution
by Lauren Prouty (4 out of 5 stars)
February 20, 2016

Unfortunately I wasn't able to use this as designed with the flap tucked under the mattress because then it ended up being too low for what I wanted to use it for (the bottom was literally resting on the floor). And I'm not saying that's bad or anything but its just not what would work for me. So I cut off the flap and used industrial strength Velcro just next to where my pillow is. For me, this is much more useful. Other than that I just love it - I have a place for a box of tissues, cell phone, ear phones, etc. So I'm very please with my purchase!
