Adorable realistic fish for our swimming pool!
by Proud mommy of two cuties:) (5 out of 5 stars)
July 18, 2016

When I first bought two of these fish I thought they swam in the water like robo fish they do not but I still am happy with them. They are more durable then robo fish my three year is rough and throws them hard even on pavement unlike other plastic battery toys they have not broken. In bright sunlight the changing colors are hard to see but at light dusk it looks beautiful. They are realistic and look real I put them in a swimming pool with magic beads and at first the neighbors thought they were real goldfish. They stay upright and don't fall over like cheaper rubber ducks we have had. I have had them for a few weeks and I have used them almost every day for a few hours and so far the battery is still working great. I plan on buying more of these again.

Fun!
by MpAiNt (5 out of 5 stars)

This toy I did have a little bit of a glue stench when we opened the box. I wasn't sure I would like it but it has been a huge hit at bath time! It has two little prongs that when made contact with water turn on the light inside the fish. So the fish automatically turns on when it's in contact with water. It has a rainbow light that changes colors automatically. It's built pretty well and it's quite realistic looking. I would definitely buy these for other kids in my family! It's a simple fun toy :-)

Update: almost 2 years later we are still playing with this little fish. Periodically now. But it's still enjoyable. And the lights still work amazingly! There were quite a few times when someone other than myself didn't realize the fish would stay on if it was in contact with water and I would find it the next day still glowing on the side of the bathtub. So I am thoroughly convinced that the batteries that we had were quite good! Still no leakage. Everything has held together quite nicely. And we have given these for gifts.

Amazing Lifespan for a Fish
by L. Norman (5 out of 5 stars)

I bought this 5 years ago for my granddaughter... This little fish just keeps going. I would have expected the light to give out by now, but it's still going strong. It doesn't mold, and it looks just the same as it did when I opened it. Tub toys in general don't seem to last, but this little guy is a trooper, and ageless in terms of enjoyment. Can't ask for more...

Kid Approved

I bought 4 Fred & Friends Koi Toys, one for each grandkid ages 6, 4, 13 mo and 6 mo. These fish are big and look like a real Koi. They are not made of hard plastic, more of a soft rubbery material. They float, lite up and the lite changes color in a sequence. The fish is all one unit, no batteries. In my judgement, this toy is safe and fun for babies too. The big kids loved them and played with them in the bathroom sink with the other little fishes they got. I do recommend and I can see myself buying more of these in the future.

6-Months And Still Working!
by JV McGee (5 out of 5 stars)

I was super wary about this thing since the reviews said it wouldn't last long. We bought it for my 1-year-old because he really hated bath time and I was hoping it would motivate him. Totally worked and now the kids use it every bath time and it's STILL working perfectly! The light is actually very bright and changes awesome colors. Water has leaked into the inside but somehow it's not affecting it. Since it worked so well and actually looks really awesome even without the light, we bought it for our friend's baby too. I admit I even use it for my bathtime to provide a cool spa-like light (if you tell anyone that though, I will totally deny it).

Lots of Giggles and Splashing!
by Grits (5 out of 5 stars)

My 20 month old grandson loves this toy. Two aquariums were recently added to his household, so I though this would be a good way to reinforce his interest in learning about fish. He had fun in the tub with Fred, and was fascinated with the fact that Fred's light went out when he was removed from the water and came back on when he was floating. On/off,floating,fish movement generated by water movement, changing colors to name-lots of learning concepts here. Know that Fred lasts for 40 hours, and then dies; his battery is not replaceable. Actually, that is a good safety feature for little fingers can remove a watch battery! No choking hazard here.

Great toy!
by Emmy-bugs Mommy (5 out of 5 stars)

Works beautifully, ours is sensitive enough that my daughter doesn't have to put it in water to make it light up, she just needs to pick it up. Oddly enough it doesn't light up when others have picked it up so far. Maybe my daughter is just super conductive, lol.

Great bath toy, since it lights up outside the tub with my daughter she's been playing around with it everywhere and so it has taken quite a beating. Surprisingly durable. I'm impressed.

A must have for the tub!
by K_Holm (5 out of 5 stars)
February 25, 2016

This fish is great! It lights up green, blue, red, and the colors gradually change, so it is very peaceful for the tub. My 3 year old son loves to bathe with the lights off just to watch this fish. My 7 month old daughter stares at it, mesmerized, and love to chew on it too. I don't even care about the battery life, because 40 hours is a long time when you only take a 15 minute bath. I recently discovered that I can lay the fish on a wet washcloth on my baby's tummy and because the sensors are wet, it will continue to change colors! We have not had any problems with the fish not staying upright in the water, as another review said. This is a must have for the bathtub for any child, any age!

Great bath toy overall with only one significant complaint
by Brett O. (4 out of 5 stars)
April 5, 2016

Overall I'm very happy with this bath toy, but the fact you can't replace the battery after if runs out ultimately forced me to give it only 4 out of 5 stars.

Pros:
-Good size for a bath toy.
-Highly detailed
-No toxic smells upon opening
-Lots of fun how the light changes color and turns off when the fish is pulled out of the water.

Cons:
-Can't replace battery. Once it runs out of juice, no more lights.

We love this but...
by Allison F. (3 out of 5 stars)
August 25, 2019

We have had this for a while and love it! We even gifted one! What i like most about it is that is not a squeezable toy where water goes in and mold. however, ours has gotten a tiny hole where the body attached to the belly and now water goes in and out :( and its very sad. I am debating what to do about it. I would love a new one but don't want to pay for a new one. I may just make it an outside toy to use in the kiddie pool but my son loves it in the bath so much.
