The twenty-six letters of the alphabet are spread out across three nested 7”x4.5”x2.5” trays, one each in high-gloss red, green, and blue silicone. Make letters out of ice, jello, chocolate, wax for candles or crayons, or anything else you want to mold to say whatever it is that needs to be said. Great for birthdays, holidays, New Years Day, or any celebratory confectionery message you choose to send! Why say “I love you” with Valentine’s Day candy when you can spell it out instead? Like all Sillycone silicone trays, the Alphabet Trays are FDA-tested, BPA free and oven safe up to 550°, and freezer safe down to -50°. They cool within minutes of being removed from the oven, and cook with a perfect evenness every time. They are dishwasher safe, and do not retain odors or flavors even after prolonged and heavy use. I wish there was a better alternative
by RGray (3 out of 5 stars)

These are such a good idea could provide so much fun, but it IS super annoying that the letters aren't backwards. The letters should be backwards in the tray so that when you pop out your finished product, the smooth side is on the front of the letters. For some, like T and I and O it doesn't matter, but for others you just have to deal with it. I've never seen a mold that didn't have the design backwards so the finished product was smooth. Also, mine didn't come with any sort of booklet with instructions and ideas like I thought I had read it should. I used them to make crayon letters and it was fun and a neat idea. If you're using them for that, I recommend only using good quality crayons and stick the crayons in so they stand up vertically in the mold instead of laying them flat. It will make a better swirled design if you're mixing colors. Also, try to have the crayon pieces sticking up past the mold a little bit. I just filled my mold to the top and when it melted the wax only filled about half of the letter. Or melt the wax first and pour it in to the mold works too.

not so great if using mainly for ice
by J. Lorenz (3 out of 5 stars)

These are really fun to use, and my kids think they're fantastic. I'm sure they'd be great for candy, chocolates, making crayons, and so forth. However, my purpose in buying them was to use them primarily as ice cube trays. Getting the ice out is more of a pain than I would have thought. All the corners and crannies make it harder to just flip out a cube... actually, I can't just flip out a cube. They break about 1 in 4 times, and they get stuck on middle silicone sections such as in the letters A and B, so I have to really grab onto the cube and sort of wrench it off the silicone.

I have only tried these a few times for making chocolate, and other than that, have only used them for ice. They do seem to be good quality and I'm sure they will hold up great. But if there are other people who would be using these primarily for ice, I would suggest reconsidering. I am definitely going to be looking for more normal-shaped ice cube trays, as these are just getting to be too much of a pain.

Great quality, great deal!

These are great quality, the silicone is not too thin, but it is still thin enough to be malleable in order to remove the item from the tray. I've used them in the oven to make crayons and they have held up very well. I thought the small areas inside of letters (inside the A for example) would be useless, but they really work so well. I do wish that the letters were backwards so that the best looking side is the front.

This really is such a great deal to get all the letters, and the size of each letter is perfect for what I'm using the trays for (they're about 2 inches high).

Good enough, but backwards.
by Brandy N. Oliver (3 out of 5 stars)

These are nice. The letters are deeper than I expected, which was a good thing. I've used them for baking and soap making, and they work well for both.

My only gripe with them is that the letters should be flipped. It doesn't matter on some of them, because the are symmetrical (X Y A, etc.) but on letters like D, B, G, and so on, it is annoying. The smooth side of the mold is the inside. If you flip your product so that the smooth side is facing up, the letter is turned the wrong way. With soap and candy making, it's annoying because the pretty side of your product is the affected side. With baking, I find it to be even more annoying.

BUT these were the best looking silicone alphabet molds I found and the mostly do what I wanted.

They worked fine except that the letters are backwards when you take ...
by K. Wilson (3 out of 5 stars)

I melted crayons in these trays. They worked fine except that the letters are backwards when you take them out of the tray. Meaning, if you looked at the "good" side, the letter would be backwards. Of course this is not true for all the letters. It may not matter if you are molding butter, or jello or even chocolate, but it mattered with the crayons. Also the letter "S" was hard to take out of the tray with out breaking it.

Great for making letter shaped crayons!
by Shop049 (5 out of 5 stars)

I made my little nephew some beautiful letter shaped crayons with these molds! They're easy to use and the foldable quality makes it easier to pop the things out of the molds. I DID break the W and Ms in the process, though. Take care when popping things out of them, but otherwise they're great.

No Go for Jello
by Amazon Customer (3 out of 5 stars)

I tried multiple times and could not get any jello out of the molds. It did work pretty while for Crayons although the "M" was absolutely impossible- after 9 attempts and all failing I decided to use upside down "W" ' instead.

Perfect for Crayons!

I used these to make crayons as party favors for my son's birthday party and they came out perfectly! I baked broken up bits of crayons in the oven, and then put them in the freezer to harden and they popped right out. The kids loved them, and my kids ask to make words out of crayons all the time now. Super easy and we'll now be looking for more silicone shapes.

More than just a candy and ice mold
by V. ErkenBrack (4 out of 5 stars)
July 26, 2009

I purchased this product to make crayons for a Kindergarten class. I took all those broken crayons that we don't want to throw away and melted them in these molds. I recommend the ABC mold over the Numbers for this project. The reason is that the numbers broke more easily when popping them out of the mold. Just put the unwrapped , broken crayons in the molds and melt them at 250 degrees for about 10 min. Cool before removing. Note that once you use them for crayons I would not advise using them for edible products after that! I did this as a service project with middle schoolers!
