The other day, we were sitting in our cucumber slicing our eyeball with a razor blade when a brilliant idea came to us. "Hey, we should make a Salvador Dali watch." So we took off our serpents, revived the bread basket, and got down to work. It took a while, but we designed a wristwatch that we think Salvador himself would be proud to wear. The face of the watch depicts Dali himself, and his moving mustache serves as the watch's hands. An ant marches around the rim of the watch, ticking off the seconds. The Dali Watch has a Japanese quartz movement and 1 year guarantee against melting over tree branches.

Honestly, this should be a 3 star review, but I love Dali and the concept too much. It looks as amazing as you'd hope, but the other reviews are right, you can't use it to tell time. It seems like the ant part (a thin clear film that covers the face of the watch) may be slowing down the hands. Just days after I reset it, it's already way off with the time. Oh well, it's still a fantastic bracelet.

Watch broke...twice

Product was delivered and looked as expected, it functioned for about 10 months and then the second hand began getting stuck in various positions on the dial. I was given a replacement with proof of purchase. another 10 months went by and the next watch stopped working, it was at that point that the company told me they were not "inclined" to replace another watch. so both products functioned for less than a year before failing to do so. Had this happened once I would have considered this a fluke, but I am now convinced these watches are not built with quality in mind.

This is my second The Surreal Salvador Dali Watch. The first one started running late after a short while, even after changing the battery. The trick seemed to be the ant - apparently it was too "heavy" for the battery. Once the shop removed it, the watch never ran late again. Had it for over 5 years, until I managed to hit it and break the glass. The second one is the one I got from Amazon. The picture is a bit darker than the previous one, so it's sometimes difficult to see the hands and tell the time. The wristband seemed to have turquoise threading on the picture, which would have been a nice touch. Overall, a nice, OK-quality watch that garnered a lot of compliments.

This watch is another hit from the Philosophers Guild, here Dali's mustache indicates the minutes and the hours, and an ant goes around showing the seconds. This is not an expensive make, so don't expect too much from a $35 watch, but for what it is i think it's a great deal, and the concept is 5*.

My wife is a huge fan of Dali. I got her this watch and she called it the first watch worthy of wearing. 4:40, 3:45 and 2:50 look awesome. The ant is a nice touch (Apparently he used to keep a pet anteater). It keeps accurate time, but doesn't seem overly sturdy. Don't take this thing diving or hiking, but for a day at the office or home it's a nice interesting piece that makes one smile when you check the time.

I live the concept and Salvador's great pix in the face of this watch. Then again I am a big fan of the maestro. That said, the watch only worked for two months. So I don't have it any more. Bad quality, great concept.
