Not what I expected

Well, I received the first one of 3 I ordered very quickly, it came from China and arrived very fast. However, it's not what I expected it to be. It is described as having 3 prong outlets, and that's what I thought I was receiving. What I got was a cute little guy with usb ports instead of the 3 prong outlets it said it was. I don't have any need for all the usb ports, so guess I'll have to give them as gifts. I honestly thought it said it had 3 prong outlets, well, it does say that, and some people said they used them in their kitchens for appliances, so from that I thought I was getting outlets with 3 prongs. So this is all very confusing to me. Just be aware, you'll be getting usb ports, NOT 3 prong outlets. If the next 2 were arriving from amazon I'd return them refused, but since they come from China I don't think I can do that. Very confusing description.....

Some of the reviews prior to my purchase explained how the outlet cord (attached at the head of the guy) was short. Even though I read the measurements, I was still willing to invest in this online. I had a couple of hooks prepared to help mount it along the baseboards and it looks really neat at the angle I decided on. 4 outlets was just right for the two areas I wanted these in (I purchased 2, btw). I also like the green light near the 'heart' of the body. :-) For what it's worth, aside from needing/wanting hooks to help keep it where I wanted it, totally worth the investment. Also, part of why I wanted this, for any cat lover with bad training habits (like me) to know, is that I was interested in not having a regular multi-outlet extension cord because more than once, when the cats play behind the TV, they managed to turn it off. Now, they can't.

The product dimensions are right there; I just didn't look. The whole thing is about 30 inches long, normal for a surge protector, but somehow shorter than I was expecting. And the guy part is maybe 14 inches, way bigger than I realized. But you have already realized these things, so let me tell you a few more things.
1. It's cute, yes
2. Though it looks a little like a little dead guy on your floor. I guess it would be better if it were posable.
3. As compared to normal surge protectors, it's pretty handy in that the four connections are separated... so devices are not competing with each other for space.

In the end, it's goofy, but I like it.

Big and heavy....

I have to admit this item has the cute and unique factor. I bought it for travelling to plug all of the different sized charger plugs into, since most hotels seem to only have 2 available outlets to use. However, I did not realize how heavy this item was going to be. It's not something you would want to travel with due to it's weight alone and it kind of an awkward mass to pack. I've only used it once so far, but the lighted switch on mine is constantly flickering which makes me wonder about the overall quality and durability of it. I was going to return it but return shipping was about half of what I paid for it, so I kept it.

When I saw this guy, I just couldn't resist him. I mean a surge protector that looks like a person, who could resist? I ordered him to plug in all my electronic devices here in Afghanistan. He's doing a great job. I love how the shape of this allows you to use all of the plugs, regardless of the size of the adapters you plug in. Not like typical surge protectors, where you may only be able to use two or three of the plugs because they won't all fit. Looks cool and works great. Can't complain about that.

The cables are heavy and that's good for some purposes, but I was looking for something more light, to use as an on the road hook up for my many device chargers. Spreading around the plugs is necessary as the plugs on most chargers are bulky and over-lap the outlets of a typical duplex recepticle. But this is too heavy to use when I travel, so I have relegated it to the spare parts bin.

This product is absolutely perfect for connecting devices with large plug-in adapters. Keep in mind that there are only 4 plugs, so if you are connecting an entertainment center or a computer desk, this is probably not the best way to go. The cable and wall plug are very good, stout material, so it may also be good for floor lamps or even Christmas lights, especially if you like the convenience of one switch.

This was bought for father in law - the gadget guy - but got a second one for me -

If you have lots of power adapters that don't normally fit a power strip - or need a creative way to plug in the cables here and there -

this charger doesn't look so much of a clutter - fun, neat piece

that makes a great gift too - for shop or study.

I travel a lot, and this is essential for all the electronic devices I take that need charging on a regular basis. Really convenient in airports during layovers, and especially on the train that only has one outlet per bedroom. Plus, it is an attention grabber. Everyone comments on the cuteness!

I purchased this for my father-in-law... For the guy that always needs another outlet, this was perfect! It was a little bigger than I had anticipated but, to be honest, I didn't really look at the measurements before ordering. But, all in all, it serves it's purpose and is fun to look at.
