Product Description

The newest addition to the Sea to Summit Pocket series - the Pocket Shower is made of the same heat-resistant waterproof fabric and roll-top closure as our standard Dry Sacks. Built into the base is a compact showerhead that operates with an easy-to-use on/off twist mechanism. The twist spout also serves to adjust the flow of water, delivering an efficient trickle to a free-flowing shower. Fill the 10 Liter (2.6 gallon) Pocket Shower, roll it to close at the top and hang it from two tough Delrin D rings with the 20 feet of lightweight cord provided. The black fabric soaks up sun during the day at base camp for a warm shower or fill it at the end of the day for a cool rinse

I've had my Sea to Summit Shower for several years now. I do seasonal conservation work around the country and sometimes have to camp for work for about a week. This has proven a valuable commodity in some of the backcountry settings I've stayed in. I even used it as my primary shower for about 3 months when living in a place without hot water. I just put a hook in the ceiling inside the existing shower, then heated up some water on the stove and mixed it with cooler water and then hung this up. With that, I've probably taken like 50+ showers with it and have yet to have a problem. If you conserve the water by taking military style showers - stop the water when lathering up - then you can easily squeeze two showers out of one fill. I did that numerous times with a coworker. We'd leave it filled up in the sun during the work day and come back to a mostly warm shower. The trick is finding a spot that'll get plenty of sun throughout the day.

Is this a pocket shower or a Scrubba!

Is this a pocket shower or a Scrubba! With all of the hubba about the Scrubba, I wanted to share this little tip. I actually use this instead of the Scrubba which ended up ripping and being ineffective as a wash bag. I simply place all of my soiled laundry inside, then fill with water and soap. Roll it closed. Turn it upside down, and use the spout (open it) to push out all of the air. When a little water comes out, I know the air is gone. Then I close the spout and swish it around like you would the Scrubba. Then rinse, repeat, and done! I have clean clothes to line dry while I camp light and travel through Europe. OH and if I need to, I can use this as a shower;) This is an invaluable purchase folks! Sea to Summit may not know this, but they have a very VERY viable wash bag on their hands as well;) Happy travels!

Nice backpacking luxury item.

This pocket shower works great. It is a very nice luxury item to take backpacking.

Some reviews talk about how heavy it is. Well, if you can't lift 22 pounds while tying it off, don't fill it all the way.
10L is a lot of water for a back country shower. 3-5L is more than enough to take care of business for 1 person.

I've not tried warming water in the sun, but filling it about halfway with water from a cold stream then adding 1L of boiling water was enough to make it warm. (do not add boiling water alone - if you do this, the bag may fail. be sure cold water is in there first)

The only thing I've found problematic is that it's difficult to get back into the little bag.

Remember to leave no trace. Do not use soap within 200 feet of a water source and use only biodegradable soap when in the back country.

Doubles as a shower and as a portable clothes washing machine. Oh, and as a handwashing station too.

It's the lightest camping shower I could find. It doesn't heat the water as other solar showers claim to do (and I have used coleman's solar shower and it does heat the water to warm, comfortable temperatures), but if I need warm water, I'll boil some on a fire and mix it with cold water...The coleman is great for car camping, but it's too big, bulky and heavy for light, backpack hiking and camping.

The sea to summit shower is small (in a good way), light, has enough capacity for 2 quick showers for campers who only need the bare minimum amount of water for a quick shampoo and a once over with soap followed by a quick rinse, or just 1 more indulgent, longer camp shower for the camper who likes to take their time and let the water run freely. We use it as our hands washing station as well (its primary use during the day), and also.... to wash our clothes.

Yes, you read that right.

Search for "Scrubba" and you will understand what I mean. Anyway, the Sea to Summit pocket shower can also be used as a "portable washing machine". We use the same soap (CAMPSUDS) as shampoo, body wash, hand soap, dish washer and laundry detergent. It's biodegradable, so as long as you use it far enough from a water source, it will degrade and won't contaminate the ground nor the water source.

So to sum it up, we like it a lot, it's light enough to make it to all our multi day hiking and camping trips... keeps us clean and fresh, at a minimum weight penalty, and its versatility more than pays for its low weight footprint.

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Very pleased with this product. Had been avidly seeking packable, portable showers for assorted filthy teens who revel in dirt (hunting, fishing and hiking). Well made excellent product. Printed instructions inside bag are very clear. Fill bag. Roll top 3 times, secure buckle, hang with cord through D-rings. I would place in sun to warm water, the filthy beasts probably not. The only problem? NOW each turkey wants his own. Sigh. Ordering more.

I used this shower in the high hills of the Wind Rivers, WY in August. It was very needed after 25 miles of backpacking. We heated water to add to glacier lake water. It worked wonderfully. The rope kit is really nice as it had more than enough length to tie high and secure. Very impressed. Was a bit bothered by the high price, but the quality is there, extras are nice and in the end is worth the cost. Love the light packing weight and volume too.

Having a shower when you are well away from the comforts of home is quite a luxury. This worked well. Be careful. It is light duty. I filled mine and tried to hang it on a tree branch. The water made it slick and I dropped it. Now the seams all leak. I was clumsy, but it should have handled the drop better.

Love this shower

Just used this for the first time down in Moab. I loved it. It wasn't too warm but thats because it was a decently chilly weekend. The amount of time it lasted was much more than I expected. Im 6'2" and 190lbs and i had about a 1/4 of the bag left when I was done with a quick shower. I recommend that you try a organic soap that doesn't foam up as much for even quicker shower times. I'm probably going to buy another one to use for washing hands as well. It worked much better than just using my large water jugs.

Very nice

Nice bag.

I use it in my temporary apartment that doesn't have a shower/running water.

It doesn't have an unpleasant plastic smell like the $8 one from Walmart's camping section that I tossed after the first use.

Packs up super small, holds plenty of water.

I put some cold in, then add hot to fill to make lukewarm.

Just wish the shower head was much wider with more holes, though would go through water more quickly, & it works fine as it is.

Nice sturdy material, white on inside. No noticeable smell.

I found this after looking at the wash bags that are basically this with rubber wash board nubs on inside..

As another review pointed out, could definitely use this to wash clothes just like that when traveling or camping, instead of using my 5 gallon bucket & clothes plunger that take more space. Can't do as much at once, but great for traveling/hotels.

Over all very satisfied with quality & performance.

AMAZING, so glad I bought it!!

This little shower is amazing!!! You can use it as a shower, water storage bag, dry sac, or even use it to was your clothing on the trail (my favorite use because you do not have to go into town to wash them or wear dirty/smelly cloths for 3-4 days in a row).
-put your cloths inside the bag.
-add a little soap and water into the bag.
-close the valve and shake the bag gently or roll it from the front to the back.
-open the valve and role up the end of the bag toward the valve or you can then take cloths out and rub them together if you want.
-place back in bag and add fresh water only with the valve closed.
-then role the bag pushing the water out the valve again, and repeat until no soap comes out the valve or just keep the top of the bag open
and the valve closed and dunk them in and out if you like (make sure you are at least 200 feet from the water source!!!!!!!).
