Product Description

Squarely at the forefront of technology: The High-definition advantage. Edge to edge, no flashlight in the world today delivers a comparable level of radiant intensity and consistency of brightness. Using patented technology that produces a perfectly uniform, square pattern of light, our new HD Torch completely illuminates every inch of its range with a bright, clean light offering superior image definition. Unlike conventional circular flashlight beams, it emits no irregular "blobs" of light and prevents shadows. Thus, it is the perfect tool for blood trailing or locating lost items using the grid/quadrant search method. It can light up an entire wall without moving the beam side to side and it the optimum choice for reading as well. The 165-lumen output lasts for up to 1.5 hours on its two 3-volt lithium batteries (included). Crafted of rugged aircraft-grade machined aluminum with our Find-Me glowing "B" on the rear button.

Super neat! Not very practical though.
by Christopher Krietz (5 out of 5 stars)

So, I can't really think of any hugely practical purposes for this particular light -- I seem to have a thing with collecting lights and such just because I think they're neat, and I like seeing different designs/mechanisms etc. Speaking from that perspective, mind you, this light is super cool! As advertised, it projects a very square light with very clean edges with minimal falloff.

If you're looking for a practical light for every day use, I probably would not recommend this one... the lit area is fairly small relative to the distance of the throw, and it chews up batteries very fast. If you're looking for a cool gadget and like flashlights though then this would certainly be a fun addition to your collection.

Perfect flashlight!
by Kevin (5 out of 5 stars)

This flashlight replaced my mini-mag that I currently carried. I primarily use the flashlight to pre-flight aircraft in the early mornings and at night with the sun being down. I was amazed at the brightness and clarity of the light. It is able to light up the tail of the aircraft like daylight. The tail is about 40 feet up, and this was an area where the mini-mag was lacking. It is larger then the mini-mag, but it still fits nicely into my bag, and is not cumbersome in any way. For the negative reviewers, just read the instructions. Use the tail cap button to turn the flashlight on and off as this prevents the find me light from being on when not in use. I highly recommend this light to those who need day at night!

Use this torch to put the beam "squarely" where you want it!
by Gypsy (5 out of 5 stars)

Will project a shadow free square beam high into a tree or project a beam the size of a movie screen with distance involved! I NEVER want any other torch! There are NO hidden spots when this torch is used. Whenever I demonstrate it the folks are awed!!!!

A Cut Above
by Jethro (5 out of 5 stars)

First real improvement in a flashlight. More like a projector with even corner to corner light and plenty bright. It is nearly as bright as the brightest center spot of a 4 "D" cell Maglight according to my light meter, except it is the same brightness from corner to corner unlike the tiny bright spot of the Maglight. The illuminated square measures 28" x 28" at ten feet. This LED light will render your standard flashlights obsolete. You won't be disappointed.

Great duty flashlight
by OfficerBill (5 out of 5 stars)

This is a great light. Solid, not too big, and very bright. It seems much brighter than 165 lumens, and the light is so crisp. Also, the beam is a great size. I can light up an average size house from around 50-75 feet and the neighbors don't even know it. The only down fall is the button battery indicator. While cool, it drains the battery so I just make sure to hit the tail button to turn the light off and I get great battery life.

Great Flashlight
by Ghost of Ben Dreith (5 out of 5 stars)

I find this light extremely useful both at work or home. The "clean" beam edges and excellent level of brightness is all I need for getting around the job sight and lighting up areas when I need to locate some material. The clean edges/brightness have to be seen to be truly appreciated. I really don't like using a regular beam after using this light. The level and consistency of illumination inside the square beam area has spoiled me. Beam is bright enough to reach back into the far areas of my back yard to find my dogs on those nights they find something interesting and don't want to come in.

I can't vouch for any disorientation associated with the use of the strobe. If that is a major function you need, then you also should have access to good LLEA information associated with preferred frequencies, intensity, etc.

But for the light function itself, I think it is nothing short of superb for what it does. My favorite flashlight.

And as noted in a previous post, the only reason the rear end cap for locating the light is on is if you want it on or didn't read the directions and don't know how to turn it off. When it is on, it will go through batteries pretty fast. With it off, the flashlight is very good on battery life.

Batteries dead out of box
by Derek (2 out of 5 stars)

Looks like my batteries are dead before I can even use it. No sign of life. Will hunt down spare CR123A at a store to make sure the flashlight itself isn't DOA.
