Great for the classroom!!

I have this remote based on the idea that I wanted to theme my classroom around harry potter. This connects to the remote that i use to control my smart board and my students love it!

Follow the instructions and practice with it first. Understanding how sensitive it is is half the battle. And now with a tap or a whish i can control power point presentations, turn the volume up/down. My boss wants one for himself!

It's a wand that operates your TV. What more is there to say? I got this for my HP obsessed family for Christmas, and it was a HIT!!! It works well, but my only complaint would be that it is VERY touchy!!! You have to perform the movement JUST SO, or it won't work. This was a source of frustration to my youngest. As my eldest pointed out, however, you must master your wand to perform proper magic!! LOL. It's definitely in use in our house.

First I got the Harry Potter wand which, while cheaper, feels like cheap plastic trash compared to the Kymera. Even though the Kymera is plastic, it has a heft and level of craftsmanship to it that is more than worth the money, and although it works much like the Harry Potter wand, it actually works with my TV, which the other wand never did. The reason I deducted one star is that the wand is a bit too sensitive, and if you put it next to you on the couch or brush up against it, some random effect will enchant your TV. It would be nice if the thing only worked when it sensed it was being held in the hand. It's a fun gift and I'd use it more often if not for having to suddenly walk through my TV's input settings while watching a show because I nudged the wand by accident.

This was the best purchase I have made on amazon. The wand worked like a charm! I thought it would have been more complicated to set up or use, but this wand works beyond my expectations and is really fun to use. The directions are simple to understand and the wand is easy to set up! I am ordering another one for my nephew today because this wand/remote just works, and since my nephew is a Harry Potter fan, he will love it!

One side note when setting up or programming the remote, make sure you once press the button on the remote your learning from "once". I realized quickly that I had taught my wand to use the TV power button twice because I "held down the power button" when I was training the wand. You do not need to hold down the button on the remote you are training from, just point at wand and hit button once, and you should not have any problems.

This wand is super fun to use and works beyond my expectations, it just works! Great for everyday use, and if u think it will be hard to set up or that it will get old after a while, you are wrong! This becomes an extension to your hand and makes watching TV super fun and easy. The device just knows what you want it to do, I even tried fooling it by mixing commands and I still couldn't confuse it! Great device and props to the developers of this device!

Very easy to program

My Mom loves it. Some of the movements do take some practice. I don't understand the trouble that people said they had with programming this thing. I found it pretty simple. Make the correct movement to put it learning mode, make the gesture, and when it pulses push the button on the remote. Was able to program the TV and DVD with no issue. Remote doesn't work with Xfinity Cable box, but that's no big deal.

Programing is tricky but then the remote fires off when you don't want it to once you get it set. Just picking it up can cause it to send signals.

Pretty neat wand. Works with different motioned actions you choose as well as works with any remote candles. Only thing is it's not consistent, sometimes you have to reprogram your motions which is a bit frustrating and you have to wait between actions. Other than that, this wand is pretty neat. It has a nice feel and weight to it and is beautifully crafted. Also with each motion you can feel the vibrations which is pretty neat.

A dream come true, but difficult to use

I would give this five stars except that sometimes I have to flick it extra hard or I don't do the hand motion exactly so, and then I end up frustrated half the time. Once I shook it wrong and wiped the program memory. Then I had to sit and reprogram it all over again. The first time I programmed it, I was tinkering with it for two hours just trying yo get the techniques down, but it's a small price to pay for having a functional "magic" wand! I also couldn't remember what every swish and flick did, and I would have had to have a paper cheat sheet just to make the most of the remote. I put it away in the closet for later amusement, but it's better off that way...away from our toddler!

A lot of fun

This product is a little expensive, but for me, it was completely worth the price. I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan and this remote not only looks cool but it actually works. Everyone I have showed it to is amazed by its abilities, and it is very user friendly. It was easy to program, and even the most technologically impaired individuals were able to master the use after a few coaching steps. I set it to work with my cable box, so it is able to work in multiple rooms in my house. I have not utilized every function. (13 different functions in total) simply because I do not use them.

It communicates to you once it has learned a command. When you perform a command it will vibrate to tell you if you have done the command right. Different commands have a different number of pulses.

The packaging it came in was top of the line, and it was delivered very quickly. The wand is plastic but still looks very nice. The instructions that came with the wand outlines everything you need to know about the wand and how to practice using it. After about 5 minutes of practice and programming it was being used as my primary remote. It continues to learn from you and you style of flicking so the more you use it the more it customizes to fit you best!

Patience is a virtue

First of all, the wand looks amazing and feels amazing to use. However programming and using the wand takes A LOT of practice. The instructions it comes with are great and the vibrating feedback is incredibly helpful but, at least for me, getting the gestures right is very difficult. I often do the same motion but it registers as different gestures.
