This is not MEANT to be a functional telescope in the sense that you cannot expect to use this on your adventures crossing the pacific ocean. On the other hand, it does indeed magnify/work, and the quality of the materials used to make it are good. Please do not expect a 100 dollar telescope that functions fully and will help you look at stars when you're buying a 3 inch toy.
Now, on to my opinion. I like the telescope, I bought it to put on a necklace, it's actually bigger than I expected, but no complaints on size. Like I previously stated, it does indeed work. The only complaint I have is the telescopes I received do not open very smoothly, and thus the threads scratch the tubing, so I've come to the conclusion that it's best I just leave mine at full length all of the time. Worth the price. Happy with it.

Though this product is very unique, it arrived broken. The lens came detached so it doesn't work at all. Though I've tried contacting the seller I haven't been successful. A poor product and poor customer service do not a happy buyer make. I recommend you steer clear. Should I finally receive a response from the seller and receive a new product that works, I will be happy to change my review.

Deceptive advertising, this unit is ridiculously small. 3" long overall. This should be a more prominent part of the product description. VERY disappointed!

This telescope is ridiculously small--about 1" when it's contracted. When it is fully expanded, it's 3". I was horribly disappointed when I opened the box. I can't imagine why anyone would buy this, except as maybe an accessory for a small doll.

Way too small. I bought this as a toy for my son. I either missed the size or the description lead me to believe otherwise but this is not suitable for actual use, it's too tiny! I suppose it could be an overpriced keychain if that's what you're looking for.

I did not realize how small this would be. My son was Christopher Columbus in the school's Night at the Museum so I ordered this telescope as an accessory. It is about the size of my middle finger. I expected bigger, which is my fault because I did not see the description that says 3".

When I bought this little guy I completely missed in the description how small it is! Shame on me, oh well. For what it is, it's great. I was originally going to use it as an accessory for my cosplay, but now I'm going to modify it to make it a pin or something. Don't plan on opening and closing the telescopic parts too often as it doesn't do this smoothly and the end cap or "eye piece" falls off easily. This is definitely not a good item for frequent manipulation, but for decoration.

Very small and got stuck together so it wouldn't telescope. Cute but not what we hoped.
Was going to use as prop for my son's speech at school but this was like a keychain size

Tiny! Was going to use as prop for my son's speech at school but this was like a keychain size. Not what I expected. Make sure you read the dimensions before purchasing!
