I love sock monkeys and I picked up 2 of these. 1 for a gift to my best friend and one to keep. We had a Christmas party and I randomly snuck one on the table over a wine bottle. My family thinks it's creepy when it just randomly shows up places and I think it's hilarious! I just bought another to magically appear even more!

I received this item on June 25th. I set it aside, because it would be a few weeks before I would present a bottle of wine in it for a house warming gift. The "sock" comes in a small box that has a picture of the item on the outside. Today, when I removed it from the box, and slid it on a bottle of wine, a hole, about the size of a dime, appeared at one corner of the monkey's mouth. I blame myself for not looking at it as soon as I received it. This certainly isn't Amazon's fault. It would cost me half of the cost of the item itself just to send it back to Amazon for a refund, so it will go out in this week's garbage. An inexpensive lesson learned.

Therefore, the one-star rating goes to the quality control department at Fred and Friends of Cumberland, RI, and before them, some company called "MADE IN CHINA" ;)

These are soooo cool. Fit over a bottle of wine just a bit long but allows you to scrunch the face/mouth to look great. I give these as gifts with a great bottle of wine and they are always well received.

I thought this was a great, and fun, idea. Turns out the sock is really not loving the shape of most wine bottles. I had to use it on the skinniest, straightest bottle I had for it to look right. And, the mouth is really hard to set up to look good. Once you do finally get the mouth set, do not touch it again! Just let it be!

Would I buy it again? Nope.

I got this as a secret Santa gift for my brothers girlfriend. I didn't know her very well, but knew she liked wine, so it was the perfect gift. They really got a laugh out of it and thought it was cute. It's also a great stocking stuffer or adds a little something extra when gifting a nice bottle of wine. Showing up to the office holiday party or other party with this covering your bottle of wine will surely be a conversation starter!
