Faber Castell's Albrecht Durer Watercolor Pencils are highly versatile with the ability to draw, shade and paint. They have 3.8 mm thick, break-resistant leads that are fully water-soluble, and provide sharp fine lines. The vibrant colors are easily blended when wet and become permanent when dry. On some paper, the pigment will dissolve completely and react as traditional watercolor does. Dip the pencil tip into water and draw for unique lines. This set includes the entire range of 120 colors inside a beautiful 2-tier wood case. Made in Germany.

This is a HUGE case. While I would have preferred the polychromos wood case but I was unwilling to pay extra for it. This is an amazing and well made case. There is plenty of space for extra items. I have added 12 duplicates and an eraser and a sharpener to mine. Be mindful though that mine at least move around in shipping.

I got this as a gift. I must say this is amazing, there isnt a single color that you need or can think of that isnt in here. They draw very nicely with bright coloras when dry, and when applying water they spread veeeery easily. What I like about faber castell quality is that you can really get good use of the pencil before exhausting the tip and having to sharpen. The box is gorgeous and light weight. It is actually pretty thin and has an alluminum bar handle to carry it. The box has a tight air seal as well, which I guess can attribute to these pencils lasting muuuch longer than in a box or the typical can case. inside the box there is a reserved space for what I immagine would be brushes, I am not sure. Ive seen pictures with brushes in there but it comes empty. If you were to buy this you could hear it singing high quality all around. I do think this is a high price, quite fancy option intended as a gift or collectable, which can be refilled. But it isnt something I would carry around... I worry the exterior will get scratched, its shiny polished wood. Again.... its very high end. The only step up from this is the faber castell 250 anniversary set for $1800 which includes every box of faber castell kits in it and has already been sold out and is out of production. If you missed your chance at getting it you can still try and make one by buying every wood set individually.
