Bye-bye quart baggie for TSA!!
by Sandykayak,Top Contributor: Camping (5 out of 5 stars)

During a 4-week backpacking trip through Spain in June 2017 I took the Colgate tooth powder that I've been happily using for over two years. I buy on Amazon. I fill up a small round container and take extra in a mini-zip baggie. Downside is it does tend to clump after dipping a wet toothbrush.
(I also experimented with bars of shampoo and conditioner on this trip and have managed to eliminate all liquids. I did miss cologne and managed to get some free samples in Spain.)

After I returned, I found these toothpaste (?) tablets and am using them now while visiting Venezuela. They work great. I hate to repeat what others have said but chew, salivate, brush, and spit is all it takes.

I'm going to try cutting them in half (per another reviewer) as I found I do a lot of spitting. I had 14 tablets in a teeny round container. See photo with a standard-sized toothbrush.

The tablets are easier and cleaner to transport than the tooth powder. Space-wise the powder would probably take up less space for extended trips. I will probably take tablets on my next trip with some of the powder form in a mini-zip as backup.

Great for backpackers
by Seabass,Top Contributor: Camping (5 out of 5 stars)

These toothpaste tablets are excellent for backpackers. My hygiene kit consists of a small take-down toothbrush in a small case that allows a very tiny hotel-sized tube of toothpaste inside. This tube only lasts me about 3-4 days of very sparing use. I picked up these tablets as an alternative, and I'm very happy with them so far.

The taste is pretty good, actually. I don't like anything overly minty, but these were very palatable. I tested one out at home by chewing it up with a fairly dry mouth, and they dispersed quickly. While not quite as gritty as the consistency of regular toothpaste, they left my teeth clean and my breath quite fresh.

I placed 7 of these into a very small 1"x1" ziploc-style baggie and they fit perfectly in my Zpacks toothbrush case with the toothbrush itself. These tablets will make resupplying very easy, and they save me a few grams.

They work well, but no fluoride

These do a good job at cleaning and have a pleasant mint taste, though I'll echo other people noting that half a tablet is probably sufficient; let's just say that they foam up well. My only complaint is that these have no fluoride, so they're not a great option for long-term use. I use them primarily for backpacking and travel, and they're great for that.

Nice minty feel- compact - easy to use - Whitens your teeth!

I was looking for toothpaste tablets for an upcoming trip. I had bought some items from lush and they gave me a sample of these toothy tabs which I thought was a fabulous idea. I liked the idea but the taste was not good and did not leave my mouth feeling as fresh and they were expensive. So while I was on amazon checking other options, I came across these. They had good reviews and for the price, it was totally worth trying. I have to say I am pretty pleased with these tabs. You basically put them in your mouth, chew and take a wet toothbrush and brush. They are very minty and bubble up well. I like the feeling of a strong minty flavor after a brush and these do the trick. AND they whiten your teeth!. I noticed a difference almost instantly. I am pretty obsessive about my teeth and will use my whitening toothpaste, but having a few of these at work or for travel, it is perfect. I travel a lot and the whole 3-1-1 thing can be a PIA. Plus these are compact and pack super easily. You could put them in a pill box if you wanted! The ONLY reason I did not give it five stars was the ingredients. It's not all natural and has xylitol added. I am not a dentist and don't know if using these alone is a good long term strategy, but in addition to my normal routine, they are great and I would recommend. Note: I don't have sensitive teeth, but they have what seems like baking soda or some type of bubbling agent in them. I happen to like that but if you have sensitive teeth or gums, these may cause sensitivity for you.

Leaves mouth feeling clean
by amkbu (4 out of 5 stars)

I like that this isn't a tube of toothpaste, so preserves plastic in that way, and that the packaging is supposed to be fully recyclable. The tablets foam up quite well and my mouth does feel clean after using it. However, it also has a strong chemically feel (I know, I'm great with words) that I'm not a huge fan of. I had been using a homemade coconut oil and baking soda mix but wanted something for travel. This product is okay and still aligns with most of my values, but I think I'll explore other versions of this type of product.

Pack dry, save time and hassle at the airport!
by An Ever-Fixed Mark (5 out of 5 stars)

These are part of my standard conference travel packing. I use a single hard-cased suitcase that fits in an overhead bin, and the only thing i hate worse than checking a bag is having to fish out a baggie of liquids for inspection by the TSA. So I pack these for toothpaste, use the hotel products for other hygiene needs (conditioner makes for great shaving cream), and never worry about it. My bag stays closed, one less thing to meddle with.

Not nearly as effective as normal toothpaste
by G. Clark (2 out of 5 stars)

This is a nice idea, and at first I really liked it. Unfortunately, I soon realized that these tablets don't do anywhere near as good a job of actually cleaning my teeth as normal toothpaste. They almost always leave behind a noticeable film of bacteria, or plaque, or whatever that stuff is that accumulates on the surface of your teeth. I know it's not just in my mind because I can scrape it off with a fingernail. I've tried brushing longer and/or harder or softer than normal, brushing from different angles, brushing multiple times... Some of these things help a bit, but no matter what I do, this product does not get my teeth 100% clean. I've never had this problem with any normal toothpaste.

I did appreciate the space that this freed up in my TSA liquids bag. I think from now on I'll just fly without toothpaste and then buy a travel-sized tube of the usual stuff after landing.

Great for travel.

Had no idea what to expect. Wanted to forego the hassle of liquids and gels going through tsa though. These were a great substitute for squeezable tube paste. The tablets are about the size of a tinned breath mint. Put it in your mouth , give it a couple of chews, moisten your toothbrush and start brushing. It foams up just a bit less than regular toothpaste but the flavor was milder. (Which I appreciated) Will keep these on hand for travel. Lightweight and gets you through tsa without hassle.

Awesome Product foam up so well PERFECT!

I wanted a small portable Dopp Kit that has no liquids so I keep in my backpack and it doesn't take up much room on a daily and that I can travel through the airport with it and there will be no need to hustle to take liquids out for TSA.. this was the final piece to that puzzle, I just exchanged the tablets from out the bottle to an Altoids tin and its slim and compact enough to fit in my little toiletry organizer. It foams so well doesn't burn and leaves your teeth feeling pretty clean.

Fix the cap opening.
by Vivian M McClure (4 out of 5 stars)

Fix the cap opening! They tablets won't shake out! Other than that I love this product! Foams a lot but gives you the opportunity to brush a little to spread between your teeth. Then I expel some foam and continue brushing. One more expel and continue brushing so it last longer in your mouth for a longer brushing!

Love the fact that there is 64 brushing pet plastic bottle. Would be even better if it was available in a more bio degradable bottle!
