Top ReviewsGreat (when it's authentic) Nintendo Wii Remote Plus - Pink

My 20-yr-old daughter & her friends got to test out our two newer Wii Remote Plus remotes. (Blue & Pink, we already had the White & Black ones.) First one was using our older Black controller in a Kirby game. My 2-yr-old granddaughter picked up the Pink one and ended up activating it in the game...so I handed that off to one of the college kids. Then she was attracted by the Blue one, activated that one too...handed that off to her aunt to play Kirby. (Auntie took out a battery from the White one so it wouldn't activate a 4th player in the game.)
The controls & buttons worked well on both new remotes. There were parts during play that the remote had to be shaken madly, so the "Plus" portion of the controller worked great! (Fun part was watching the 2-yr-old copy the older kids by shaking her White remote as she "played" the game with them.)
This was my 2nd Wii Remote Plus - Pink
. My 1st one was purchased on Amazon from an Amazon merchant. (Game Direct, now selling as GryoTek...DO NOT buy from them!) I sent that one back for a refund right away. (Ordered Fri, received Sat and filled out return form the same day) It was a very good copy. The A button felt "cheap" and it along with the cushy jacket were yellowed. The word "Pink" on the box was misspelled as "Bink". There were no batteries even tho' the box stated 2 AA batteries included, among other things. (pictures under the Pink remote posting)
I ordered a 2nd Pink controller from Amazon right away on Sat, received it Mon and was able to make side by side comparisons before UPS picked up my return. My authentic remotes work wonderfully! Happy with all 4 of them. And it's kind of fun having one of each color so people know which controller is theirs.
Beware Buyer - COUNTERFEIT Wii Remote Plus - Confirmed by Nintendo

We purchased two of these in addition to two Wii Nunchuks recently, from this same company, Hercules Toys.
After having some problems with the Nunchuks (not counterfeit, ironically), we contacted Nintendo to see about sending them in for repair, as they were still under warranty. The Nintendo representative had me run through some tests over the phone, that in the end indicated that there might also be an issue with the Wii Remotes as well as the Nunchuks, and instructed me to send them all in.
We received the Wii Remotes and Nunchuks back from Nintendo today; the Nunchuks were repaired/replaced, while the Remotes came with a form letter stating that they are, in fact, counterfeit parts.
You are not getting what you are paying for - Hercules Toys is advertising these as being manufactured by Nintendo, but they are NOT.

Deciding it was time to donate my old wiimotes and the wiimote plus attachments and upgrade to the remotes that have the remote plus BUILT-IN, I decided to also do so with style.
Although these come in 3 colors: black, blue, and hot pink, I opted for the colorful blue and pink wiimotes. (one set of blue, one of pink) If you have a family of 4 and get a white pair as well, everyone would have their own color and there is no argument over who didn't charge the remote during the last use or who left one at a friend's house, donthaknow.
And that's where the convenience of these boils down to simply more than style.
Because so many utilize the wii games and wii party games at gatherings, like a wine glass that all looks the same and needs a "wine charm" on the stem to differentiate picking up or (in the case of the wii) going home with someone elses...especially considering these cost more because they have the remote plus built IN that makes all movements picked up better by the wii....well, yours finally stands out in a crowd of white wiimotes and old school well-used wiimotes without the wiiplus.
They come with the plastic cover on them and of course have the opening at the bottom for the nunchuck.
The blue is Tiffany blue and the pink is hot pink...more so than it looks like on the photo.
They work great and pick up every movement far better than the old remotes. Especially useful in action games and workout games.
Plus the colored versions are only a few bucks more and are stylin'.
Got a real one but it doesn't work well

I want to be one of the people that gives this remote a 5 star review. I bought a new, shiny beautiful black Wii remote JUST FOR ME (you leave this alone because it's mom's remote and the batteries are not going dead I mean it) as well as a boatload of batteries so I could work out on my wii (in other words, play just dance). I was excited by the built in wii motion and thought that, for sure, I'd be able to kick my kid's behind in the game and that this would surely help my score. Now, I know I'm getting older, but there is no way there is a score differential of 3,000 points. It could just be sour grapes or it could be that there is something missing between my wii mote and my sensor. There isn't a problem with the white remotes that came with the wii, however, so I'm guessing that it's my new, shiny, beautiful black wii mote. As I bought it for exercising (not competing :P ), I will go ahead and keep it, but if you are using it for a game where your score or accuracy really matters, you may want to reconsider on this item. I tried it with the rubber coating on and off and holding the wii mote every which way. I'm getting my exercise, but my score at just dance is still poor. Ah, well. It's still a really nice looking wii mote.

Like new Wii controller but might as well be brand new. It's in great shape and works well with the system. No problems syncing to the system and I love with the color I can tell my controller apart from my boys' so my controller doesn't get the kid treatment.
DOES WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO DO!

I purchased this remote for my son's Wii system so that we could enjoy many of his games (Wii Resort, Cabela's Dangerous Hunts) together. OK, my wife and I also get down to the dance games out there (getting down isn't the problem, it's getting back up where there's an issue at times!). I wanted the Nintendo-branded remote because I've had good luck and bad with off-name electronic equipment. The controller has all the buttons it should (although more than the Atari 2600 i grew up with) and they are responsive and work well. I like the fact that the controller shows you which one you have (1, 2, 3 or 4) and battery level via the blue lights at the bottom of the remote. It's held up to over 2 years of play and is still working great!
Expected purchase of functional Wii Remote Plus, nothing out of the ordinary.

I bought three standard white Wii Remotes throughout the life cycle of the Wii and invested in the Wii Remote Plus once I found out it was required to play Zelda: Skyward Sword. I have since continued to use this while playing the Wii U, most notable for Pikmin 3.
Overall I have found the response time and general functionality of the buttons and the pointer functionality to be as expected - that is to say, good. I have not had any problems like other reviewers have had and generally am very happy with the purchase. I will say that it feels lighter than the previous Wii Remotes, though that is not necessarily a bad thing. Overall if you need a Wii Remote Plus, this should be a good buy for you.
Buy this if you have the chance.

First off, let me explain how this works and when you need it. The Wii Remote Plus includes a gyroscope to enhance the native motion sensing capability of the standard Wii remote. It can be bought either as an attachment (
Remote Motionplus Motion Plus White for Nintendo Wii/will Accessories/games and Accessories
), or as a new controller (as in this case). Considering that the full remote gets you a new remote AND Motion Plus capability in a smaller package than the attachment + remote combo, and since the remote isn't much more expensive than the attachment, I must recommend the remote.
That being said, Motion Plus capability isn't needed for everybody or every game. The gyroscope allows the Wii to detect movement even when the Wiimote isn't pointed towards the screen, such as when swirling around the head. Most games will mention whether the Motion Plus is required or recommended. I bought it for my brother, who plays the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, and I must say it really improves the games. If you have a Wii game that could use improved motion sensing capability, I would recommend splurging on the Wii Remote Plus.
Malfunctioning right from the start

We've had the original Wii for about 4 years, including the original 2 remotes which we never had problems with. We now had to get a 3rd remote because our child is growing up and it's impossible now to play with only 2 remotes. The new remote I ordered came promptly and seemed to work fine at first. However, as soon as we started playing a game that involved sounds coming from remotes, you could hear this remote had a problem. The sound was very distorted, as if coming from a blown speaker. The sound on our original remotes is totally fine. Several uses later, the new remote started to malfunction even more. Again, the 2 original remotes are working perfectly fine, so there's no setting/screen adjustment possible. This new remote is just malfunctioning. When you move the remote side to side, the little hand actually moves on a diagonal, and when the hand goes over any button, it disappears. So it's even impossible to use it anymore. The batteries are fully charged, and it's not battery related. Very disappointed. Have to return this remote and buy another one.
Wii Remote Plus - Pink Lots of Fun

I bought this so I could play Skyward Sword because the motion plug-in for the older Wii remote kept coming out. This new version of the Wii remote has the Motion Plus feature built into the unit and is perfect for play which requires a lot of movement.
For The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword with Music CD
, for instance, you can use it naturally just like you were swinging a sword. When you attach the Wii Nunchuk Controller - White
, you also have a shield.
The only negative, if you consider it a negative, is you might have to frequently recalibrate the controller with the game (Skyward Sword allows you to do this inside the game at any time): readjusting your sensor bar can help this.
Overall, it's a lot of fun to play with. And I LOVE THE PINK COLOR!!!!
