Picture is misleading

I ordered my prospector beerskie and was looking forward to making the cheap Walmart duck dynasty type beards look inferior. Upon opening what I was delivered I was pretty disappointed to see that the actual version you will get it a thin piece of fabric attached to a neoprene face mask with beard type fabric attached to it. To me, the photo looks like a full, plush, big soft beard that will hang nicely and play a pretty realistic pretend of one of these beards. The beard itself is probably all of 7" wide and hangs only 10" or so down, and it hangs like a little curtain, not like a face full of fur like this picture shows. The mask itself is warm, and fits like a champ with a wrap around section that velcros firmly to itself. It doesn't move around or want to fall off. It fits super..the beard portion though, was a let down for the $40+ I spent on the product and shipping. I'm pretty reluctant to buy things online that I've never seen in person but when I do I like to think that you'll only get what you pay for. With this thougj, you get less, period.

Smelled really really really bad

I been looking at these for a while. Let me start by saying it fit good, looks good, and actually keeps your face pretty warm. It's made to be worn with goggles for sure the reason i say that is it sits low on your cheeks.

Now let me say why the review is so low. The one I received smells so bad you can't hardly stomach it. Like I am talking it smells like some one didn't take a bath for 2 weeks and wore it as a jock strap. Really sucks that it smells so bad. I have to think maybe mine was a return resale. Cause they can't smell that damn bad and not have more people bring it up.

Let's be honest. We bought this mostly for the novelty. But I honestly didn't expect this mask to perform as well as it did. I bought this for the winter months riding side by sides. In 35 degree weather, trail riding from 5-15mph the mask works amazingly. What I didn't expect was the wind resistance and the warmth of the mask at 50mph the same day. Keep in mind I'm in a UTV. I did have the beard come up level with my chin a few times going so fast but never covered my eyes. Super happy with the mask I definitely recommend and would buy again

IMPORTANT NOTICE: People complain about the strap. Well I didn't know before buying but the mask straps around the top/back of your head and keeps your ears warm. I also had a beanie on and had to take them both of for a few minutes at a time to cool down. If you were to use this with a helmet im sure the straps would slide but no problem with a beanie

Bought the first of these for the style - I can't grow my own beard. But this is very practical and better than many face masks because the fuzzy beard is out in the elements and accumulates the ice and snow while a second layer of fleece is inside against your face keeping you warm.

Its a bonus that I got about half a dozen compliments on my beard every day. This one was actually for my teenage daughter who got a lot of laughs from it, especially in the women's restroom. I found little kids are the most curious about it "Hey, is that a fake beard?"

Stylish, but the wind cuts right through it.

It's novel and definitely makes you easier to find. I went with this color because it seemed more lush than the others. I was not disappointed on receiving it.

There were some negatives and I almost gave it 3 stars. It's not neoprene so the wind on a lift cuts right through it. For lifts, when wearing a buff or fleece face cover, i can stick my lower face behind the jacket top to cut the wind. The beard prevents that. In the other end, at the bottom of the lift it's really hot and it's hard to dump heat quickly. In terms of using a camelbak, I have made splits in neoprene balaclavas. I did the same with the mouth opening. However, w/ all the hair, it was too hard to find where to slip the nozzle in.

Transform yourself into a mighty viking!!!

Bought this for my son as a Christmas present and it was a HUGE hit.

Tons of laughs from everyone but also comes with a cool factor: It really appears real and he now skis the slopes looking like Olaf, the viking king!

Quality is good, it will keep your face warm and it makes for an incredible conversation piece.

All in all, I would buy this again!

Well it looks great, with a hat and glasses on you can appear to be a great guitar player from Texas. I trimmed it out so I could drink cold ones with it (and even trimmed more so it almost looks real from a distance). I don't ski, but who would know it with this on? Waiting on Halloween for the folks at home to check me out. Nice product, can't tell you if it keeps your face warm outside, but it does keep it warm around a bar. Cheers!

Eye cover

I bought this for Harley riding in cold weather. I wear it with a 1/2 helmet and it keeps my face reasonably warm.

There are 2 issues with it, though.

One, the beard part is light and gets blown around, up into my face, and sometimes covers my eyes, even at low speeds. It needs to be weighted.

Two, the Velcro is unnecessarily tough to open. I need two free hands to get the thing off my head.

I used this on a recent ski trip to Breckenridge. There were multiple good benefits to this ski beard/mask. First obviously, it looks cool. I got many compliments from random skiers on the slopes. Second, it kept my face blocked from the sun. It also blocked my mouth from eating snow when I got a little too ambitious with my abilities. And finally, when I seperated from my group they all said it was easy to spot me later on. Cool looking and functional.

AWESOME!

I bought it for the novelty for a multi-family ski trip, but now I wear it every time I go skiing. Tons of comments in line by people arguing each other whether it is a real beard or fake. I love it! Even the lift operators stop to check it out.

So what's the downside? They are minor but there are some.
1. Hand wash only
2. If it is really windy it can blow to the side a little. Never gets you cold, but flicks in your peripheral vision
3. Ices over from your breathing. I actually think this is the best look for the beard, but my wife thought it looked like I had ice buggers coming out of my nose LOL.

These are very minor negatives, and notice I give it 5-Stars! It works excellently as a face/neck warmer and it looks cool too.
