Product Description

The Bantai Civet Coffee is made of 100 percent pure, wild, and organic medium roasted Robusta whole beans. The sweetest and ripest berries are chosen for an even and lavish taste. This gourmet coffee is nutty and spicy, with hints of almond and ginger. The coffee beans came from the Cordillera Mountain range in Ifugao, Philippines, and only wild Civet coffee beans are collected. The Civet coffee is shade-grown in a 2000-acre Civet conservation area that is pure rainforest, and with coffee plants intertwined with it. The coffee is also bi-cropped and is chemical-free. Any expansion of coffee growth is done with minimal impact. There is no clear cutting, no monocropping, and no eradication of indigenous and endemic coffee plants. The Civet Coffee is roasted in the USA to ensure a superior roast and longer shelf-life. Coffee is packaged in a 4-ounce hermetically sealed aluminum foil bag to ensure sustained freshness. Bantai Civet Coffee was started as a US Peace Corps project, funded by USAID, to conserve the wild Civet population. Wild civets in the northern Philippines were close to extinction before the coffee project began, and now their population is flourishing. The conservation area is open to the public, so anyone can come and view how the Bantai Civet coffee is made. The Bantai Civet Coffee is a socially-minded and delicious product that coffee lovers will enjoy.

Excellent Taste

I had my first taste of this coffee years ago while working in Bermuda. The taste was distinct and have not be able to get close to that flavor/taste until now. I am very please at the outcome of my small amount I received, and would probable not grind it so fine next time. All said I am very please and would recommend to a friend.

Not worth the money in my opinion . I blind tested this with a bunch of friends and they all choose the Jamaican Blue mountain over this. Most also had negative comments regarding the taste. Followed the package directions and also tried more beans, different water temps, etc. I use an AeroPress. I served the Kopi first and the Blue Mountain second each time I tried this test.

I ordered it to see what the worlds best coffee was like. Nothing special. Blue Mountain and Kona are better.

Taste like WATERED DOWN COFFEE.

I tried diferent grinding sizes and different amount of coffee and water and in the end it has a Folger's watered down coffee. The only thing about this coffee is the arftertaste, it will leave you a nice mapple sirup like flavor in the mouth for 15-30 minutes but that itself cannot justify the price. Even the cheapest coffee have a stronger flavor. I am not expert but this also reminds me a lot of Subway's crappy coffee that you get for like a dollar.

I've always wanted to try it, even though coffee aficionados have not rated it highly. Turns out, they were right.

If all coffee tasted like this does

Anyone who's heard about this has either 1 of 3 reactions: "The cat poop coffee? No thanks", "It's made how?" or "Oh yes. Worth every penny"...

I had my reservations, yet I was fully willing to try it... This is the first cup of "coffee" that I've ever drank that I didn't need to put in at least a tablespoon of sugar to be able to drink it... If all coffee tasted like this does, it would be our national drink...

not arabica beans

this coffee was ok, got it off my bucket list, but was not anything special.

regular grocery store beans put through a cold brewing process produce a smoother coffee.

i did not see that they were robusta beans when i purchased this item, or i would not have bought it and gone with another brand.

the secret is to cold brew, and you get the perfect coffee.

I've often wondered what was so special about this coffee so I figured I'd give it a shot. Definitely an interesting flavor and worth trying. I'm not entirely sure I even liked it, but if you're a huge coffee lover it's worth trying, at least once.

Not the best coffee, especially for this price

There is better coffee out there, possibly for cheaper. It's not bad coffee, but I don't recommend, at least not this source. Maybe I will try it again somewhere else.
