I don't throw out bags of rotted fruit any more.
by AJ (5 out of 5 stars)

I have used this for celery, lettuce, cilantro, carrots, and strawberries. All the items lasted far longer than I ever expected them to. With this Produce Keeper in the refrigerator's crisper drawer, I can have lettuce that lasts for more than 2 weeks. Two Produce Keepers will fit in my crisper drawer. I will also put them in the bottom meat drawer. I have four of the 2 quart keepers and one of the 4 quart. I use the small keepers more than the large one. I almost never use the 4 quart keeper, it barely fits in my refrigerator's drawers. Also, washing them on the top rack of the dishwasher has not hurt them at all. There is almost always one of the produce keepers in my refrigerator. I have been using them for over a year now, and I am very happy that I found these.

BEST food storage containers ever!!
by jmhunt (5 out of 5 stars)

I LOVE these food storage containers. I have found they work amazingly well in keeping lettuce, fruits and other veggies fresh in the fridge for a long time. The instruction on the front make is so easy to follow depending on what you are putting in them. They collapse and store away like a charm. Very durable, well made and nice stylish design. They fit well in the fridge...sometimes I'll have 5 of them at once in there. They make it easy to organize and get the fruits and veggies you want out quickly. I really am amazed how long lettuce will store without getting mushy. My teenager likes them because it makes it so much easier to grab veggies and go and I do think the appealing design makes it more appealing to eat the food inside of them. I am buying these for my family for Christmas presents.

Peek, peek...find a leak.
by Shopazon (2 out of 5 stars)

Such a great idea, but it fails in one of its uses. I loved it's space saving, collapsible design. Great for berries, grapes, etc. However for the items you're supposed to add water to (celery, carrots) ...DON'T. Instructions are to add 1-2 tablespoons of water. I added slightly less and made sure the plastic lid, that goes on the bottom, to cover vent holes was on tight. FAIL. Water leaked everywhere. So if you use it without the water option, it's good. Unfortunately, you're paying extra for a feature that doesn't work.

Huge Progressive brand fan, however this was a HUGE disappointment...

After finding this back in July ($17.99 then), I was extremely excited to say the least. Following the instructions as per adding water or not, it did keep lettuce fresher longer.

However, after about four months, it completely broke down around the entire thing, and in that time I probably only collapsed it a hand full of times and never put it in the dishwasher (hand washed). Now it is useless and has be be recycled. I won't be buying another one sadly to say.

Doesn't last more than a year

These should be pulled off the market. After the first one started to fall apart and get permanently moldy, I bought another hoping it would be different. It wasn't different at all. In about a year, the silicone gets holes in it. (I never close it, so its not really wear and tear) In addition, mold that cannot wash off covers the entire silicone surface. The design is great in theory, but the silicone isn't engineered properly to serve its purpose. This product has great potential once they fix the crappy silicone. Lasts about a year. Save your money. I love these containers though, so I will replace this one with the non collapsible version.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. LOVE IT!!!!!! WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!!!!

I have tried EVERYTHING!!!! We eat a lot of fruit especially during summer months and with lettuce I take the time to wash, prep and paper towel, then put the lettuce in bags, etc., I buy containers, green bags, ANYTHING that would keep my fruits and veggies fresher longer, not to mention the time it take to prep the fruit and lettuce and such. When I saw this gem, I thought, "why not?"..... all I can say is, it works!! I purchase my fruit from the larger wholesale stores, and so I need something to keep them longer, and my berries, all of them are fresher longer. I only wash them just before I use them. The grapes I wash and they all fit!!! My melons were the "real test" and yep, they are lasting longer than they did in the "other" containers I was using. I have to empty the drainer more, but so what?! I only bought a few for the first test run, and now have them for all of the fruit, lettuce, melons and all I require....the collapsible thing is just the cherry on top... I have seen some of the negative reviews, and Im sure some people have issues, but as a mom who has kiddos, and lives in the real world and trying to save $$ and eat better, the reality is you won't be able to please everyone.....cant say this about a lot of stuff but this was SOOOOOO WORTH MY MONEY AND VERY HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE....THANK YOU EVER SO..... <3

Waste of Money!!!
by Gail M. Doane (1 out of 5 stars)

I was excited to find this and since it can collapse I thought it would be easy to store also. The footprint is still pretty large even when it is collapsed but the thing that I dislike about it the most is that even though I only used it one time to put celery in, and it looked like it kept the celery fresh, when I went to pull it out the inside of this product was moldy. I tried running it through the dishwasher twice and soaking & hand washing but the mold that is on the green (rubbery) part of this produce keeper is still there. I may have to soak it in bleach and I wouldn't think that would be good for it. I'll probably have to throw it away. Waste of money!

Doesn't last very long
by Sometime Consumer (2 out of 5 stars)
April 11, 2017

This worked great for a few months, but as many other reviewers have noted, the green middle part of this container doesn't hold up over time. That was surprising to me, because I have the same brand's collapsible lettuce washer, and that has lasted me a long time.

As soon as mine started to crack along the seams after a few months of regular use, it also started to collect what appeared to be mildew. Get one of the solid plastic ones instead and save yourself the trouble of replacing this one down the line.

Very Disappointed with cracking
by Debbie (2 out of 5 stars)

Very Disappointed!! After 1 year of use the rubbery green side where it folds to collapse started cracking. I gave it 2 stars because of the Idea and design. It is a great container design, but does NOT hold up. Recently I went looking for other reviews on this container thinking I did something wrong, but apparently it is doing this to all that were made not just mine! I always kept it in the refrigerator with lettuce in it and never even collapsed it. I bought the other non-collapsible ones like this and they are Great! Wish I could go to Amazon and take this one back and exchange it for the non-collapsible one. For anyone thinking about buying this container I would definitely buy the other non-collapsible one instead!!!!

Excellent for storage (we don't use it as a colander)
by maximumamphibian (4 out of 5 stars)

This item would have 5 stars if they made it into a perfect rectangle or cube. Its current shape is a bit of a space-hog, so these usually live on the top shelf of our fridge, on "salad row." We eat a lot of greens from a farmer's market CSA share and all have fared well in these boxes. We wash everything first in a salad spinner, then transfer greens into these boxes for the week. It's better than just a sealed Rubbermaid container. The little vents help, and our greens stay nice and fluffy, like the kind from the pre-washed grocery store bag.

Do they extend the life of the greens? I'm not sure, but they're a great way to store your washed greens and encourage yourself to consume them. A big step up from a plastic bag swimming in your produce drawer.

We have no problem with the collapsible sides. It just means that more of them (yes we own several) can next in storage and enter the rotation.

love it
by Natalie Hopkins (5 out of 5 stars)

Have tried a large romaine lettuce, held up great. Still fresh and crisp when we got to the last of it. Tried celery. Actually had a few stalks go limp, I had them in a green bag. I trimmed them, put them in water and then in this container. Stayed crisp for well over a week after that. Trying broccoli now. I need to order more as I am impressed. I like the slick design, the ease of use and cleaning. The fact that it can be big or small. We tried a head of lettuce, we rinsed it off and then stored. Maybe we shouldn't have rinsed it off or it was just a bad head but I'll stick with the green bags for that as it didn't seem to do so well. Hoping I get some for my birthday as we love veggies in this house.

Only half good.
by Long Time Customer (3 out of 5 stars)
September 29, 2015

I have had this product for almost two years now and the concept works great when you have items in the fridge but I only collapsed it a few times as I keep fresh kale and collards in mine all the time for our daily smoothies and the silicone has cracked and this morning when I went to pick it up to put back into the fridge my finger went through a weak spot in it. I like being able to save space but this is a poor quality silicone that should not have deteriorated as fast as it did. I am going to contact Progessive and see if they will back up their product.

Too large for my crowded 21 cubic foot fridge (6 freezer, 15 nonfrozen)
by HGW (2 out of 5 stars)
April 8, 2018

I bought this four quart produce container to store grapes keeping them ventilated and dry while refrigerated. I have a plain vanilla two door fridge with 15 cu feet of storage for nonfrozens. This product is too damn big for my fridge, given that we keep a crowded fridge to feed three people. This would be worth trying if you keep a half full fridge.
