Did your parent's ever put a mountain of mothballs in their car and then ask you to drive it? Sure, they meant well. They're elderly and moth balls are a staple from their world. However, mothballs are noxious. Especially in a 240 degree SUV under the Texas sun. When I say noxious, I mean they stink. Real bad. And when they spend two weeks in a mid-size SUV, it's kinda like they reached puberty and really threw on the stink. Then, the bouquet seeps into every bit of fabric, the seats, the carpet, the headliner. It attaches itself to all the plastic bits like the dashboard and door panels. But the best part is that it gets in the vents. Wow, that's going to leave you driving that car pool all by yourself.

It was that bad. I had it professionally cleaned and de-odorized. Cost me over $200. They gave me a refund because it was guaranteed to work. Then I placed about 800 boxes and baking soda in there. Turns out moth balls and baking soda went to the prom together, nothing good came from that application.

Then, I saw these things on Amazon. I don't like natural remedies, they never work. Never. But, I was desperate. No one would stop next to me at a traffic light. It took two of the big ones, freshened with an all day charge in the sun, but that SUV smells better than Mama's butter cookies now.

Buy them. Use them. Charge them in the sun. Love them.

I have two 200 lb dogs. While selling our house, the biggest comment we received was a slight dog smell. We must have been nose blind to it. I bought a 200g for the bedroom and a 500g for our two story great room. After one day I noticed a huge difference. It smells cleaner and feels less stuffy. No more candles, wax melts and Fabreeze. It really works!!

I purchased this to try on a few different odors. When I first got it, I put it outside in the bright Arizona sun for 2 hours to "recharge" it. Each attempt below was for 2 days.

First I tried it on 17 year old Lexus which doesn't stink but rather has an old car (classic?) smell. I didn't think it would work because it's the leather and wood that's causing the smell but I gave it a shot anyway. As is suspected, it didn't change anything.

My second attempt was in older 4runner which apparently was smoked in by a previous owner. It actually does have a stink that I tried to remove with an odor bomb but the smell was too potent. Again, I didn't have high expectations which was good because it didn't help at all.

Then I decided to try it in a coat closet that is always closed and has developed a musty smell. I thought surely this is the type of smell this was made for. Well, I was wrong. No decrease in smell at all.

Lastly, I put it in a new tent I purchased just to see if it would help with that new tent smell, but guess what? Yup, you guessed it, no difference at all.

Works great to throw into the washer after doing laundry, to keep mildew from taking over between loads (do you feel me on this?). HOWEVER, if you forget it's there and throw in a load of whites, you will be screwed.

We had this annoying god-awful smell in our supply closet. No one knows where it comes from and I even pulled everything out of the closet and rearranged it all. It must be in the walls or under the subfloor. It was the smell of something decaying. And a mustiness that smacks you in the face every time you open the doors. I ordered this and hung it in the closet. The very next day not only is the smell gone but the air is totally not oppressive and dank anymore. The bag itself doesn't smell but it certainly sucked the bad joojoo out of our office supply closet

These Moso air purifying bags are wonderful. They are all natural, long lasting, and best of all, they work! I have previously (and very successfully) used the 200g bags in closets to control musty smells. Now I live in a home that suffers from the lingering, stinky evidence of former smoking inhabitants. I placed a 500g bag in the one medium sized bedroom that gave off the most odor, and within a few short hours, that stale smokey smell was gone. Every month or so, I round up my collection of Moso bags and lay them outside in direct sunlight for a few hours. That simple process recharges the scent absorbency of the charcoal in the Moso bags. I have used and recharged and reused the same bags over and over again, a process that involves minimal effort and creates no additional expense. I am pleased to know that using Moso eliminates unfriendly environmental approaches to odor control by reducing not only waste but public exposure to chemicals and scents inherent in standard room deodorizers. Well done!

July 2016: Update: I have owned my Moso bags for over a year. I still like them, recently ordering an additional bag. I had to remove one star from my earlier review for two reasons: the current price, which seems a bit high, and the fact that the bags need refreshing in the sunlight more often than once a month for full effectiveness. The good news is that these bags, over a year in use, can still be recharged at all. I appreciate their longevity, which puts the price issue in perspective.

I am very impressed with the packaging. The bag is designed so well that you can leave it out anywhere, with most any decor, and no one would know you are trying to eliminate odors. The quality of it capturing the odors is impressive as well. I put one by the kitty dome and you can not smell odor 10 ft away so I know it really works. I can't wait to leave it out in the sun to see if it as effective in rejuvenating.

I was VERY skeptical purchasing this so I did some digging online before buying it at 3 a.m. like a normal Amazon shopper.

I have to stay, I got it from the post-office on Thursday 3 p.m., set two of them down in opposite sides of my bedroom and went about my business. Friday night when I arrived from work around 9 p.m., I noticed that stale, musky carpet smell wasn't in the air. There was a slight hint of it but it wasn't overpowering like it normally is. The next night (today) I get home from work around 1 a.m. and the smell is almost non-existent. As a matter of fact, the room 'felt' cleaner (I'm sure it's psychological but it really did!).

I'm purchasing 2 more large ones, 4 little ones, and a couple of medium sized ones to put in my gym bag, laundry area, bathroom, & closets!

I don't normally write a review but I AM IN SHOCK! I bought this for my basement studio and I'll keep it short.... I've got a dehumidifier in my basement with a bucket that needs to be emptied every time it's full... I usually have to change it twice a day if I have it on all the time.... ITS BEEN ON FOR TWO DAYS STRAIGHT AND HASNT SHUT OFF BECAUSE THE BIN IS FULL.... Literally this little bag has kept my basement humidity level at 45 since it arrived... I'm speechless... getting many more.

It works!!!! We had a very damp carpeted large basement rec room. I tried everything!!! After much research we got a dehumidifier which took out the dampness just great but we were left with the same musty odor. 4 of the large bags were used. In about a week the odor is gone... I also used large open cans of inexpensive ground coffee. Together it is amazing!

We had gnats in our bathroom and we couldn't find where they were coming from but we had a lot and it was gross. I read that to get rid of them you need to get the moisture out of the room. I found this product and I was reluctant to purchase this thinking yeah right this will work. I put this in my bathroom and closed the door and left for work. When I came home from work, I went to see what was happening in the bathroom. They were all dead. We haven't had any more gnats since I put this in the bathroom. This product is amazing. Did exactly what it was supposed to.
