There is an octopus in my mug. Yes, you read that right. Not a shark. No shark in my mug. There is an octopus in my mug. Or some type of really effing ugly shark with 8 legs.

I bought this for a friend for Christmas. It arrived on time and in one piece, so that's good.

However, my friend said there was a little hole in the shark, so he filled up with coffee (the shark... and my friend, but that's not relevant.) So now he has a little bit of coffee permanently in his mug because he can't completely wash out the shark.

It's pretty funny and an ok gag gift, if you ask me. But it's not the best for people who actually want to use it (which is kind of the point.)

I bought this on an impulse while browsing the web at work. This mug could have been a lot better. The shark thing is actually only like 2mm beneath the level you would fill liquid, so if your coffee/tea isn't opaque people will immediately notice something in there and it ruins the novelty/surprise. The build quality is also rather poor. I noticed after my first use that I could hear liquid sloshing around in the hollow shark head after I cleaned and dried the mug. There must be some insufficiently sealed seam where the shark head is joined to the mug. Last issue is that they didn't account for the volume of liquid the shark would occupy and the mug holds about half the liquid of a normal coffee mug.

Overall, this was mildly amusing and I would not buy agai

I love this mug so much, it is always used in my top 5 mugs of an endlessly growing collection. It is a tad small, so it does not hold much volume, but it is such a cute idea, I don't mind filling it up over and over again!

The Shark Attack Mug is one of those comical items makes wonderful "just because" presents, or gifts during holidays for your fellow coffee and tea drinkers. It can also double a small prank if you fill the cup with coffee and give it to them with a bow on it.
The cup is a decent sized coffee cup and the shark is just as shallow as shown in the picture. As you can see there's a slight angle, but it really shows the accuracy of the cup size well. Simply it's a white coffee cup with a shark head sticking up for the "Jaws" effect so it's completely dish washer safe. With the right supplies you could even paint "Happy Birthday" or "Merry Christmas" on the outside. Draw a small design, or do whatever creative thing you wish!

I give it a 5/5 because It's a great size, advertisement is strait forward and it has potential to be crafted into something personal if desired. So if you're interested in buying this product I'm happy to say if it looks satisfying in the picture, you should be satisfied when you receive it.

Very fun, but has two practical flaws.

One- The shark's features are not well defined. The pictures on the web site make it look much better than it is.

Two- The mug itself is on the small side of average. Combine this with the space taken by the shark, and this mug doesn't hold much.

I wish they would have made the mug bigger. This would have made it more functional and easier to clean.

I got a few of these as gifts for christmas. The advertising was deceiving, the teeth are not as pronounced in the real thing. It's actually really muted... Imagine pouring wax over the image that they show 2 times... its really.... dim.

At least its easier to clean than the octopus creaturecups? Though the creature cups are deff way higher quality (and higher price)

It looks awesome but that's about it. I wouldn't recommend putting anything but water in it. We drank from the mug ONE time, coffee... several dishwasher cycles, hot water soaks, and rinses there is still coffee residue coming from under the shark. It's like you can never get it clean.

Another Amazon reviewer gave me the idea to take this mug out of the box and offer coffee in it as a surprise birthday gift - so I did this on my husband's birthday and he got a kick out of it. Unconventional, unique way to give the gift! It's a novelty item so don't expect it to hold much coffee, go in the dishwasher, or clean out easily -- I use a bottle brush to clean around the shark.
