Since my sea salt isn't iodized, I sprinkle this on foods for the iodine. Tastes great, my husband loves it too. He was missing the outer half of his eyebrows before I got this, which I had heard was a sign of thyroid weakness. He hates pills, so I started using this on his food and his brows have grown back now.

Tastes great on salads, nice and salty sea weed flavor. The only problem was all the sea shell pieces I had in my bag of flakes. At first I thought it was just dirt from the lettuce so I washed my lettuce and herbs like crazy to make sure and I was still getting hard dirt like pieces. So after almost chipping a tooth I was able to take the piece out and it looks identical to a shell (shiny on one side, dark on the other). So I then realized that I only had this issue this past week when I added the dulse flakes to my salad. Unfortunately I added to a smoothie the first 2 times I used this so that means I just drank the shell bits without knowing. So, I then looked at the bag and was able to see small shell bits through the clear bag even (the lighter piece in the photo). I wish there was a disclaimer on the bag about "this may contain shell pieces" so I had a heads up. Argh, at least this is affordable. I'm going to try the sheets next time. :/

UPDATED: 7/5/16

Updated from 2 to 4 stars. My second bag of flakes was much better. Hardly any shell bits compared to the last bag and none that hurt or chipped any teeth. I love these, just have to be careful for any shell bits or pebbles because I did chip a tooth from my first bag. I do now see the disclaimer on the back of the bag at the end of the first paragraph. I still don't see one on the Amazon page for the small Flakes, but I did on the page for the larger pieces.

I eat this as a snack. I keep it in a glass jar (I removed it from the plastic)on my counter and I have a small scoop that I use. I take in 5 to 6 scoops per day total (through out the day)

I think that I'm addicted...lol

One more thing, if you eat it like that make sure that you look at your teeth before going in public or talking to someone. It has a tendency of sticking to your front teeth..lol.

California Warning - Question?

Question for seller - there is warning on product as follows -
"California Warning - This product contains heavy metals known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm."

Why is that? This is a certified organic product by USDA. Is this warning legitimate for general consumers residing in other states?

I was under the impression that this was only 1 pack due to the photo. You get 3 packs of what you see in the photo of decent size portions. I love seaweed kelp, this is my first time trying dulse flakes. I really like them, good flavor and texture. The smell is so strong I could smell it through the shipping package just mentioning. Overall good and will buy again. Reading about this it says it contains a lot of magnesium. It most certainly does because this helped me fall asleep even more than melatonin has.

wow this stuff has a strong seafood like taste. I can only use a little bit at a time or i need to cook with it. Its a good way to add a salty taste without actual salt. great way to obtain iodine i believe. long expiration date so if you do not use a lot, like me, then it will last a while.

I love sea vegetables and have used them in my vegan cooking and as a snack. LOVE this item. Will be purchasing again! : )

PS. To those who say that it's too salty, yes of course it's salty. It's a SEA vegetable, a natural product. No added salt. You have to use it sparingly if you're going to munch on it, or use it in soups and don't add salt to your soup.

The Atlantic Dulse is Superb!

I put this in my morning smoothie every single day. I am so happy that it is harvested from the Atlantic rather than the Pacific (due to the Fukushima nuclear radiation leak). I am reading the Medical Medium book and have implemented almost all of Anthony William's recommendation. Without trying, I've lost two sizes and have AMAZING energy. Atlantic Dulse is one of his recommendations. I will be buying this regularly.
