The battery doesn't last very long

This helicopter took some getting used to, you have to get the hang of how to fly it around. My 7 year old brother learned how to fly his just with practice!! But, once you get that down, it's a lot of fun! And it works great. But the only complainant that I have is that it has a very short battery life, maybe 20 minutes, then it takes forever for it to get a full charge back. Also, it takes 6 batteries and they constantly have to be changed because you use the same controller to control the helicopter and to charge it! Some of them come with a USB charger, mine didn't but i ordered another for my brother that did. Overall it is a great helicopter for uses under 40 minutes, or short-time uses.

Really good quality. Do not regret buying.

This product was for my 13 year old son. The remote needs 6 batteries, which are not included, and is a bit too much but the helicopter comes with a USB charger to charge it. The helicopter flies for about 5-7 minutes, depending on how you use it and how you charge it. It is very accurate, and is very stout. My son crashed it into walls, the floor, metal, everything, and it was not even damaged. Very good for inexperienced fliers to use without worry. Best for indoors.

This is freaking awesome!!!

My four year old has been asking for a helicopter for a while. We had been having a tough time keeping him in bed at night - so I bribed him ... if he stayed in bed at night after we said our goodnights I would have a very special flying helicopter delivered to the house in a special package! He loves when the delivery guy brings a package. So - I bought this helicopter.

THIS THING IS DANG NEAR INDESTRUCTIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have had it for about a month and remember my four year old is flying this thing!!! You charge the helicopter using a USB cord (I have not tried using an outlet adapter, I've only used the one that goes to my computer) for about 45 minutes. The helicopter will fly for a good 15 minutes!!!! It's so much fun for him (and my husband!) It seriously floats and flys and turns in the air, it flys forward and backwards ... it flys just like a real helicopter!!! I was not expecting such a great product for $20 ... I'm going to buy one in blue for my other son who thinks it is great, too! He is 3.

Very very very impressed with this toy! I can't believe how much entertainment this has brought my son. We have not tried it outside yet, but can't wait!!! It has taught my four year old great fine motor control because you have to ease the throttle up and down - and the great hand eye coordination the actual flying takes. He flys this better than I do! Maybe he just has a steady hand, either way ... he loves it! It flies all the way up to our ceilings (which are about 40 feet tall) so I can't wait to see how high it flies outside - we'll have to work on softer landings, but I would give this 10 stars if I could! :D

Fun toy!

FUN! I couldn't believe how cheap this was for what it was, so I couldn't resist. I just wanted to screw with the dogs heads a little and figured this would serve that purpose perfectly. Well, I found myself mesmerized by it once I charged it up and slammed it into the ceiling for the first time. It's actually a lot tougher than I thought it would be, which is good because I crashed it a lot when I first started messing with it. After several evenings of messing around with it I can actually fly the thing around the house. This little toy makes me feel like a mix between a little kid and someone who is seriously trying to master a hobby. It's been a source of unadulterated laughter many times. Note: don't fly this unit near your wife's seed collection drying on the table, or you'll have to explain how the cat must have scattered them all over the floor. Also, this is fun to fly above the dogs and watch them lose their minds, BUT the rotors could actually hurt them or people if it were to hit them.

These little helis are real cool

Young or senior, this is a lot of fun to fly! You can't beat it for the money. The only negative thing is the battery. It takes approx an hour to charge and you get about 6 to 9 minutes of fly time. Some good advice when you take it out of the box, READ the instructions on how to program the controller to your heli. I think some people have a problem with this thinking it doesn't work so they end up sending it back. Also take care of your battery (After flying, let your heli cool down about 20 to 25 minutes then charge it and also after you charge it wait the same time before flying too). This will save on you battery life. Never over charge you battery. This weakens it. When light indicates fully charged unplug it. In time depending on how much its used, you can always buy a new or new up grade battery for your heli. Of course the manual will not help you too much on how to take care of the battery. So my advice will........These things are a lot of fun if you take care of it.......

Best rc helicopter of this class
by Zorbas (5 out of 5 stars)
January 3, 2015

This is by far the best RC helicopter I have flown (as well as my kids) in this class. I am sure there are much more expensive ones that will perform better but I have purchased several around this price range in the last few years, and this one is by far the easiest to fly and the most fun. It feels very smooth in the air and is very stable. My 9 year old can easily fly it even though he is well below the recommended age of 14. I really like that you can charge it from a USB connection...I hate the ones that only use the transmitter to recharge as it wastes the batteries. Overall highly recommended. I also like that you can purchase a full repair kit for a cheap price.

Great times for around $20!

We have ordered so many of these over the years, I feel like I should leave a review. For around $20-$25 you can't go wrong. Usually they work very well, until we thrash them. Once we got one that was just off, but we returned it shortly thereafter and amazon makes that so easy; it's hard to complain. We order a couple at a time and have fun until they don't fly any more. We have several young boys and these things are not treated well. They do take quite a beating, though. Hit the ceiling, hit the floor, slide across the floor and hit the wall. Repeat. We've had helicopters last up to a year, but with the younger boys wanting to fly them they can last less than a week. Usually even with continuous beatings, they last at least a month. Prior to thrashing, when I get a few minutes to play with them, they fly really well. Very stable with the counter rotating blades, and the directional control works. It's easy to do smooth circles (forward or backward), figure 8's, and land on small surfaces. My 7 year old landed one on a ceiling fan blade which is quite difficult considering the sloped surface, and the added fun of having the ceiling fan blades move from the thrust of the helicopter. All in all, a great time.

Ehhh, it's ok

This things is okay when it works. I purchased for my son for christmas, but it sits in its box, because we can only get the thing to fly 2 out of 10 times trying. I consider myself a pretty intelligent person, but this thing just does its own thing in spite of following all the directions to fly it. And before anyone thinks it, yes, we flew it in our house, NOT outside. When it crashes, it crashes. It will veer over into your tv., pictures on the wall, table decorations, etc. Be warned.

Cool copter

In his own words, here is my 12-year-old's review:

I have to say, purchasing this S107G was a weird mixture of excitement, happiness, and disappointment. It arrived 3 days after purchase, so i took it out, put batteries in the controller, and charged up the Heli using the controller, and waited for about an hour for it to charge. While that was going on, I was reading the manual. There is this part in the book that said "before turning on the helicopter, push the steering into full forward, then continue normal operation." i did not do this, and that might be why mine was slow in the beginning. I fixed that problem, but that's for later.

I started to fly this thing, and I noticed that it was very quiet for a heli. its not that annoying screeching sound my Gyropter makes, but a light hum that gets louder the higher you go. Also, you cant turn of the lights on the front. That's not a problem, but i prefer to turn off the lights so i don't burn out the bulbs. It is a very steady helicopter after it was trimmed, and then I was flying it around the room when i noticed it was SLOW. I was so excited about the looks and reviews that i thought i bought another messed up rc. I was thinking about what to do when a review popped into my mind. someone that said by removing some weight and that's what i did. I removed the rear tail support and BOY that fixed it. It is now my fastest helicopter. if you wanted to, you could also remove the landing gear. I didn't because i think it would be way to fast for my house! Great product if you take of some weight, run time is about 10 min. GO SYMA!!

Very fun and durable helicopter
by jared (5 out of 5 stars)

This helicopter only last for about 10 minutes before it runs out of battery. You can easily charge it with the usb cable provided. It has an option to plug into the remote control to charge it, but I opted to charge into a computer or usb charger in the wall to save on batteries. Charging doesn't take too long about 30-40 minutes and then you're back up and flying. Learning to fly is quite easy, a few crashes later I learned complete control of this helicopter. It is very durable too. I was afraid it would easily break with my crashes but surprisingly it held up and continues to flies and nothing ever broke or looks even slightly damaged. Very fun for kids to play with.
