Where's The Awful Smell???

Have been using Roebic K-37 for years in my septic system and it has worked great, but on my most recent order I received 2 bottles that did not have that familiar nasty odor. Thinking there was a problem I contacted Roebic with my concern. Here is their reply;

While you have always have experienced the awful smell with the bottles you have purchased it is very normal for you to come across bottles that do not have a strong or even a smell when you open them. It all depends on how the bacteria is acting within the bottle. One of the bacillus bacteria that we do use is actually used to control odor so what you are seeing or I should say not smelling is very normal. You can go right ahead and apply the K-37. I am the biologist here at Roebic and I personally test every single lot that is produced here. If you have any other questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me at anytime.

This is step one in the proper maintenance of your system. All four of the products in the Roebic "System Maintenance Program" work together to keep your system operating smoothly. My tank pumper could not believe we had such a thin scum layer with NO TP floating around in the tank after a 7 year pump interval. Roebic's customer service is top notch. Kara in the lab (a true woman of science!) is always willing to help you with septic issues. She's a very valuable resource Everyone living on a septic system needs to have Roebic products working for them. They're inexpensive and they work.

Cleared a toilet paper clog in hours

For years, we used Scott toilet tissue for economy's sake, but in March 2013 we upgraded to Charmin. A few weeks after we that, our drain slowed. We just figured it was time for a pumping since it had been a while.

The pumping worked for a few months, then the drains slowed again. We tried everything -- bleach (I know, very bad, but we were desperate); baking soda with vinegar and/or citric acid; Sodium Hydroxide; Drano; Liquid Plumr; various enzymatic products including Roebic's Main Line Cleaner, S.G.P, regular Septic Tank, Emergency Care; gypsum over the drain field (we have rock-hard clay soil in our area); and cutting water use.

Nothing worked until I found the Roebic Leach and Drain Field Opener Concentrate.

After 3 clogs in one year and going through ever possible theory -- hair (pet and human), lyme scale, roots, saturated leach field, we realized it was the Charmin toilet paper. (A brief internet search confirmed this is a frequent issue.) So we switched to Angel Soft last month.

This time around, at the first sign of slowness in the drain, I immediately came to Amazon to order more Drain Field Opener. I saw this item and thought I would give it a try because it was about $4 dollars less and also treats 1500 gallons.

Yesterday afternoon, our toilet wouldn't even flush and the shower flooded after running water for a minute. We put the entire bottle of this concentrated product down the drain in the late afternoon and by bedtime the toilet flushed like a dream.

Roebic is the best and only septic maintenance brand that has worked consistently for us and our 24-year old septic system. I always keep a bottle or two on standby now for future emergencies.

the only time i have ever had problems with my septic is when i havent used roebic.

my septic tank is 1200 square foot so the 1000 square foot is not quite enough, i just get the concentrate good for 1500 square foot and it always does the job. im very very happy with it.

i will not buy another brand.. roebic k-37 septic treatment always does the job.

I'll save you the long story... but my lateral lines were clogged about a year ago. Not the first time by a long shot. Finally found this product. It took a while to work (like maybe a month to completely open them). But I continue to put this stuff in about every 2 months. No problems since. This is the best my septic system has worked since I bought my house 28 years ago! Buy it. Use it. You won't be sorry.

Easy to pour (liquid), easy to follow instructions. I won't be able to say if it works or not until 10 or 20 years down the road. But, Roebic has a full line of useful products. Another product I use is the root killer.
