For $150... not quite worth it.

I originally saw this on Kickstarter before it was in production and swore I would own it one day... and I did! But the period of ownership was brief, for a few reasons:
- so spendy, and the Ravelli dolly does just about the same job but for over $100 less. Of course, you can't set that one on a tabletop... but if you're doing a lot of tabletop stuff a slider can be just as useful in most situations.
- to get a really smooth shot, you have to situate the wheels just so. And if they aren't JUST so, the back legs will slowly drift apart as you roll, causing some shake.

These are very well made, and the concept is excellent, but I'm basically trading these in for more essential pieces of equipment.

Smooth and Portable

I was able to replace my heavy camera slider with this guy! It is smooth and best of all doesn't take up a lot of space. At first I had to learn how to adjust the legs of the tripod to get the wheels in perfect alignment but now it takes me about 2 minutes to set up each shot (which is fast). Also, you need to put the tripod in a low stance with knuckles fully bent if you use a heavier set up. Otherwise the joints close to the camera will sag. Great product for the price!

Love them! you need to take time learning and adjusting the wheels correctly, but when you find the spots, they work great.

These wheels are too large for the GP3 tripod manufactured by GorillaPod. So they r not compatible. Dissappointed.

I backed these on Kickstarter, and have had my set for a very long time. I'm yet to find a practical use for them.

To use CineSkates, they must be on a perfectly smooth surface to avoid bumps, and this perfectly smooth surface must be the level at which your subject is. Unless you intend to carry around sawhorses and giant planks of wood, these wheels are only practical for small product shots (assuming you have ample smooth space around the product), and shooting up musicians noses while they're performing onstage. Even if you manage to get the operating height of your Cineskates+gorillapod to the correct spot, you're still going to have to wrestle the Gorillapod to hold your rig, and to properly align the wheels.

I can't fault the construction or smoothness of the wheels, and the method they use to attach to Gorillapod is sold. The CineSkates themselves are well made, and that's why I'm giving them two stars. My disappointment lies in the practicality of these toys, and the fact that I let the hype and marketing blind me to their actual functionality.

Seeing as these are banned from being sold in the Amazon marketplace, I'll be putting my set on eBay.

What a brilliantly versatile camera dolly. The flexible design enables you to position it in any number if configurations. The wheels come in a very nice travel bag. The wheel assemblies are incredibly high quality. The included instructions were very helpful.
