Strong, durable and super cute. As for people's reviews stating that it fades, then take it out of the sun when you're done using it!! I've been using mine for about one month now and it's still as bright as the day I bought it, but then again, I'm not a dummy that would leave it sit in the sun when not in use. If you want things to last, take care of them. It's as simple as that!

Most delicious pool toy

I bought this because it's cute, but now I really love. It's my favorite pool float. It's very sturdy but comes packaged in a tiny box. If you don't inflate fully, the "bite" in it gets a little creasy, but you don't want to over-inflate on your first time out with it. I like to use it in the pool almost like a kickboard for exercise too. The "bite" is also nice because it's a little easier to get in and out that way, and you can pull up to a set of stairs or a rail a little bit closer, or pull your honey in to give them a kiss!

Pros:

I've purchased 3 of these over the past 2 years. These are perfectly sized for river tubing. My big frame fits well and my bottom keeps cool in the water. No unnecessary frills like hard handles, headrests, nor cup holders. People on the river like to compliment the cute donuts design, but i just like them for their nice simple design.

Cons:

I popped one on my car door handle trying to ill-advisedly force it in while inflated, another sprung a small hole after many river trips. It also has a small inlet air nozzle, it inflate much more slowly than the big river rat inlet holes.

I bought this for a river float as a joke actually. I was so happy with it. This thing is HUGE with the opening being a perfect size for me to lay comfortably. As the float progressed we got some drinks in us and you forget you have to worry about the rocks popping it. I got railed in the tailbone so bad it hurt to sit for a couple days but this thing did NOT pop. we actually had two who had those "river float" ones pop but my donut prevailed! My only negative feed back was it took SO long to deflate so i could put it away. I may have passed out on it in the yard trying to push the air out.... but it was super comfy at least while doing it!

This was so disappointing. I purchased this for my daughter to use in the pool. We blew it up before we left the house, and on the five minute drive to the pool it deflated. We were able to find a hole in the seam, and patched it up, only to have it deflate again. We then saw that there are many micro rips in the seam around the edge. It's such a shame because it's absolutely precious.

Fun for the Pool

This float is so cute and fun. It makes for a great photo prop and adds color to my pool. It's a great big size and perfect for the beach or pool. Very sturdy and brightly colored. Has not faded at all even though I've left it outside for a couple of months in the Florida sun.

Love it .... with two exceptions.

It is too big to take to our country club pool (not

Kidding when they call it gigantic) - had to find a creative way to even fit it inside my car (midsize SUV).

Also the initial smell out of the box (lasts a good several days) is pungent and awful. Plan to find a safe place outside to leave it for a bit until smell dissipates.

Easy to inflate? Maybe if you had exactly the right high-volume, low-pressure pump with exactly the right fitment for a donut pool float. I had neither.

Durable? Float got a hole near the seam after four trips to the pool. Not from rough play. Not a failed seam. Looked like the material was thinned / damaged during manufacture and just the air pressure + weight of my kids was enough to exploit the weak spot.

Sturdy? How's that different than Durable?

Two stars because I wanted a Homer-donut pool float and this is one. Otherwise, hard pass.

I think three stars is a fair rating for this product. You know what your getting just based on the reviews.
1. Homer Simpson Donut!
2. Uneven but acceptable application of of pink frosting.
3. Complete and utter lack of any UV protection for pink frosting.

Average lifespan seems to be up to a week on the pink frosting if left out all day.

I inflated it using an electric Airhead pump which made the job very easy. It worked well in the pool when tested but that isn't why I bought this float. I wanted an inflatable float for my Patio Table cover. This fits perfectly over my patio umbrella and under the patio cover. By doing this I prevent water and gunk from building up on the normally sunken patio cover.
