Product Description

Get ready to take your night riding to a whole new level on the Pure Fix GLOW in the Dark Fixie Bike from Pure Cycles. The bike's paint is solar-activated; just give your bike an hour of daytime sun for an hour or more of night-time fun. Whether you're a night owl, a raver, or just want to trip out your friends this is the bike for you.

The Pure Fix GLOW marries the elegance of a classic urban geometry frame and straight fork with the toughness of durable, fully Tig-welded high tensile steel construction that's built to last. The bike is kitted out with a Pure Cycles Drome saddle for a nice mix of comfort and style, front alloy dual pivot brakes for quick stopping, custom Pure Cycles x WTB Thickslick 700 x 28C tires for excellent control and contact with the road, and 40mm deep-dish wheels. Weighing from 22 to 25 pounds (depending on size), this lightweight bike is easy to maneuver through city streets.

With the flip-flop hub, you can quickly change from riding in fixed gear mode to freewheel. Riding with the 15T fixed cog gives you an unmatched feeling of connectedness to the bike, the road, and helps you perfect your pedal-stroke. The 16T freewheel gives you the ability to coast and cruise, just like the single-speed you grew up on.

Pure Fix - Great Bike for Exercise
by Chris R Bacon (5 out of 5 stars)
July 8, 2015

I tend to do over-analysis and extreme research when purchasing high priced items. In the case of my bike purchase, I am glad I did. In what became about a two month endeavor, I changed my mind no less than 6 times. It had been about 25 years since I owned a bike and I wasn't sure I wanted to spend a large amount on something I wasn't sure I would devote a huge amount of time to. Of course, all the research pushed me away from buying a cheap bike from a department store.

My main driving factors in purchasing a bike were:
1. I needed to start exercising again.
2. I HATE running. (Clarification: I really hate jogging. My legs were built for sprinting)
3. I have a daughter who is learning to ride and, at some point, I would like to be able to bike with her

Of course, I went through the whole thought process of whether I should get a hybrid bike with multiple speeds but the more I thought about it, a fixed gear bike was the proper decision. I wanted something where I could use my body weight for purpose of exercise and avoid coasting which you can do on any other type of bike. Essentially, what I realized is that this bike is the equivalent of running on a bicycle. By not being able to coast, you must control your speed with your legs. There is no rest going downhills - your legs are always moving. There is no easy way out of going uphill - you can't change gears.

The option of having the flip-flop hub is great in case I do want to do a leisurely ride (perhaps, when my daughter is ready to go biking with me).

The bike is nice and light. All the parts seem very durable and Pure Fix does a killer job covering all bases as far a color combinations is concerned. I initially was going Juliet all black but finally decided on the Hotel to throw some color in there in case it helps with vehicles seeing me. (Day or Night, I would say the Glow in the Dark green is quite noticeable)

When I received the bike from Amazon, I immediately took it to my local bike shop to have it assembled. (It is required for the 1 year warranty) That kind of was a bummer since I couldn't ride it right away and the bike shop was slammed with a 1 week waiting time for builds. However, this is a great thing Pure Fix is doing, not only does it ensure these bikes are being built correctly, they are providing business to these shops.

The one thing I don't really like is that the internal hub on my wheels is white where everything else on my bike is black. After the fact, I noticed pictures where some were white, some were black so I guess this is just the luck of the draw when you purchase this way.

Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. I know there a plenty of fixed bike sites out there that let you customize from wheel to wheel and tip to toe but ultimately, I went with a Pure Fix. Everything about the company seems pretty great. From my research, People are always raving about excellent customer service, how responsive they are as a company and how well their products are constructed. From my experience, I can attest to the quality of their products. There website and videos are great as well. Also, with being a Prime Member, I got this bike in two days with free shipping! How can you go wrong?

Wow. such fast. so fix.
by Jason E. Pack (4 out of 5 stars)

This (the "Hotel") is my second pure fix cycle. The first was a Juliet, which I bought secondhand from a sketchy kid in south philly off of a craigslist ad. That bike was fast, light, dark as night, trouble-free, and inconspicuous enough that I never really had to worry about parking it anywhere in south Philadelphia. That bike was also run over by a bus about a month ago, which caused me to search around for another bike to replace it.

If you're at this page, then you've done your homework. You know that you can get a similar frame, parts, and even complete bike sets for a little over half the price of Pure Fix. So why did I choose to buy Pure Fix again, this time at full retail? I wrote to them to tell them that I was saving up for another Pure Fix, and they actually issued me a discount coupon towards a new one! These guys mean customer service. Scroll through these reviews and you'll see that they actually answer customer complaints and address them. That's not something you'll get from the no-name Chinese fixie brands.

As to the bike itself? Well, not much to go wrong with it. It's a snap to set up if you have a socket wrench set, but if you're anal about it you can take it to a mechanic Once properly set up, the bike does not rattle, vibrate, nor make any odd noises. It's like a drop of water gliding down the surface of a windshield.

The glow in the dark paint is bright enough to be noticed as soon as the sun starts to go down. When all the colors around town start to fade, your wheels don't. That's probably how you'd notice it first. I'd say that if you have it outdoors during the day, you can actually get about 2 hours out of night glow time.

I am constantly getting compliments on this bike. In contrast to my first bike where it went unnoticed for being so dark, I (a guy) now regularly experience people talking to me at red lights and asking me where I got the bike, or being hollered at by school kids who wish they had my ride. It actually has made me kind of nervous, and I park it indoors overnight, or with a double lock when out and about.

Seriously. Do not buy this bike if you won't be comfortable with daily unsolicited attention over it.

The rear wheel on my bike actually came unevenly painted, so there appears to be an area that was not sprayed down with paint properly. They did not include touchup paint, so that's my one gripe. Would love if PureFix could hook me up with some touchup paint!

Light up your night ride!

Lovely bike. It came with a minor dent but not one I wanted to endure a return in order to fix. It is small and did not chip the paint. The only complain I have is the brake. It is quite dusty as far as brake material goes, and it's braking power is not optimal being the only brake on the bike since I don't ride fixed.

As far as the bike, it is beautiful. Classic white by daylight and glowing by night. I love it, except for when I'm trying to sleep and it's lighting up my room, but that's the price of downtown apartment living I suppose. :) great bike!

Great baseline bike
by v.p. (4 out of 5 stars)
September 23, 2015

58cm is incredibly fast for those 195-205 pounds. Well balanced with endless upgrades given your maturity. Great baseline bike. Best part is: their upgrades are cheap. Well made frame.

But, the bad: issues with the rims--blown three tubes in 2 months. A bit off center. The mechanic took his time on the second snakebite--and still he deduced it was the rims.

So, prepare for upgrades if you want to progress. In the meantime, excellent bike for the price. Reminds me of old skool Specialized. Can't go wrong if you are serious about the sport and want to go long term.

I ordered this 2 days ago, and I just got it today.

I chose this rating because I love the glow color of bicycle.

One of my friend ordered this and it was awesome to ride it in spring day.

So I decided to get one for me too. I ordered this last Saturday, and I just got it today. I opened it and I loved it.

It was very easy to build it together.

The color was so beautiful and it will be perfect time to ride bicycle with this weather.

I'm getting ready for the Spring and Summer now.

Thank you for making this kinds of bicycle.

I appreciate it.

its really easy. Took it down to the shop to make ...

I just received this bike in the mail yesterday, it is my first bike of adulthood. I put it together my self with no problems, its really easy. Took it down to the shop to make sure everything was ok, but did not feel like waiting days to get my bike back so i just put air in the tires and went out riding in the city.

I have no complaints except that i wish i had been able to customize more of the bike, which i probably could have done on their site but i was using an amazon gift card. I wish it had come with foot straps and different handlebars, but it does not seem to be an issue for them to send you a free pair of both.

I rode 4 miles and am sore, a new seat will be my first purchase... then footstraps, then handlebars, then thickslicks.

I also did not screw in my left pedal all the way and as a result i stripped the left crank arm. I am going to see if i can get a replacement arm or get it heli coiled at a local bike shop, if not then ill be messaging pure cycles haha.

all in all good bike, thanks!

This is my 2nd Pure Fix I've bought since May 2018.

I like how simple and clean your design is. I live in Florida and Ohio, therefore I do not need more than 1 gear because of no real elevation changes. My only complaint was the condition of the box on arrival. However you do such a good job packing the frame and wheels that I was not concerned what the product looked like out of the box. Pure Cycles Rocks!!!

Thank you very much;

Prompt shipping.

Can't believe how quickly this came. Had it in two days from the day that I ordered. The most difficult part of putting the bike together was getting it out of all of the packaging and that is meant as a compliment. It was in great condition coming out of the box and a cinch to put together. 1st overall riding impression was positive. This is a completely different riding experience than I am used to as my regular bike is a high end carbon fiber mountain bike. But this bike is meant for a different purpose than that. It is so nice to simply check the tire pressure and roll. Super awesome get around the town bike. Totally happy with my purchase so far.

Great bike but may be slightly overpriced
by bargain hunter (4 out of 5 stars)
August 24, 2013

This bike is made of great looking, quality materials, and you can't hear anything from the bike while you pedal. The green wheel rims look really cool, but the bikes design doesn't allow you to install a kickstand. It also took me a while to assemble, mainly because of the vague descriptions in the manual. The bike is really light and I have no trouble going uphill even with no gears. But there are many other companies that sell similar cycles for less (critical cycles, retrospect cycles, sole cycles) and it did take me a while to think about which bike to choose. In the end I choose Pure Fix because of their great customer service, sleek design, light weight, and flashy rim color.

Solid Fix
by Anton Chigurh (5 out of 5 stars)
May 19, 2015

This will be my second Pure Fix that I've purchased. I love these bikes but I have a few minor critiques. First.. both bikes that I've bought have had the front wheel tucked behind the crankarm for shipping. This has caused some dents/scratches to one of the spokes on both bikes. Although this is minor.. It bothered me to some degree. Second, my Kilo Glow arrived with some nicks and chips in the paint. Would of loved some Kilo paint so I could of touched them up. Other than that.. I'm very pleased with my purchases.
