Simple to assemble, attractive

I'm pretty happy with this. I had a few concerns out of the box that I thought I'd share.

First off, the frame is considerably lighter than it appears. As the pieces are assembled, there's some wobble and flex in the frame and I thought this might not be as sturdy as I'd hoped. The X beams in the back tighten it up considerably, and the fully assembled shelf is pretty solid. The three middle shelves are not secured to the frame; this isn't a problem at all when the shelf sits in place, but they fall out if you're trying to tip the unit over to move it.

It's not obvious from the photo, but the wood shelves have notches cut in them to fit around the metal frame. As a result, there's about a 3/4" overhang at the edge. One of these shelves arrived with that overhang sheared off. Be aware that these can break.

Those decorative metal features a few inches from the very top are inconsistently welded; one of mine is not straight.

Despite this issues, the finished product is actually quite nice and I've ordered a second one. The wood is solid and attractively stained, resembling reclaimed wood. It's real woodsy wood, not particle board or laminate. The unit comes with foam pads for the feet and a zip-tie kit to secure it to a wall.

The width between the metal frames is 21" and the wooden shelves are 16.5" apart. The front and back legs of the frame have 10.5" of space between them. I've seen this unit sold as the "Tribecca Myra Bookcase" elsewhere, where it also comes in a larger version that's 40 inches wide and slightly deeper.

Not worth the money!!!

If these had been cheaper (a lot cheaper) I would give these a better rating. They don't look bad once assembled and they were easy to assemble. However, for what I paid, they should be FLAWLESS and made from BETTER QUALITY MATERIALS! These are DEFINITELY NOT worth the price. They are poorly constructed. They look really heavy duty online but they are actually very light and cheap. A lot of the pieces were cracked or broken during shipment and you could see where pieces broke and were glued back on during the construction process. I am really disappointed. The boxes (because I ordered two) were in horrible shape. I will be complaining to Amazon. I am EXTREMELY disappointed!!! Do yourself a favor and order from someone who actually does industrial or rugged work. You may pay a little more but I bet it will be much better quality. If Amazon rectifies the issue by either crediting me back a percentage or sends replacement parts I may revise this but until then .... Sorry not sorry.

Exceeded my expectations.

The bolts all go through a metal part and into a threaded insert in the wood. All of the holes lined up perfectly. No instructions, but I don't think you can put it together wrong. It all makes sense. It was quite a bit darker than the website pictures, but it is very attractive. It is about the color of my attached pictures.

OK, I really liked it. It was exactly what I had expected. I am surprised though that no one mentioned the issues I had with the table. I am taking away two star for my issues.

Lets look at the good part first.
(1) It is a solid wood. Rustic finish, which I wanted.
(2) Even though you know the measurement, the table fills up the family room. Do not get this for a small area. This really looks large with the wheels and everything. Wheels and solid wood actually make it a heavy table.
(3) I thought the wheels were a showpiece. But you can actually move the table on the wheels. As I said, because its heavy and solid, avoid moving it around on wooden floors.

Now the negatives
(1) Assembly is not easy. Anyone who did the assembly by themselves are either too strong or too skillful. Here is the issue I had. You have to hook the metal clamp on only one side first. Hook up the wheel and the the center rod with the clamp. That leaves a piece of heavy metal dangling on the other side. Now, on the other end you have to align the wheel, the rod and the clamp together. While aligning you have to screw the wheel, the rod and the clamp together. It wasn't easy with the weight. Once you are done with that, holding all in the air practically, you now have to apply two screws bringing together the clamp and the main table. Phew. That made me sweat, even though I had my kid holding the metal piece. Be careful not to drop the alignment. Or else you'd either damage the table or hurt yourself. I would admit, I didn't mind the weight. You just have to be careful.
(2) Here is what made it worse for me. Nuts were not perfect fit. You really have to go all out putting on the nuts on both end of the rod. It was extremely tight.
(3) Gloss in the pic can be deceiving. I wanted rustic finish and I got it. The gloss on the picture would give you the wrong impression though. Don't buy for the gloss.

Wrapping up - I would still buy the table. After 45 minutes of professional alignment sweaty session (yup, today was 92 degrees in NJ), it really came out beautiful. I may be being tough but in this day and age you cannot give sub-standard nuts and bolts.

Disappointing

Not what it appears:

Only the top shelf measures 26" x 15"

The other shelves are 25 1/4" wide by 12" deep

When you account for the frames, your usable space is 21" x 12".

The shelves are several long slats glued together, not a solid piece. It also means the shelf is not smooth, but uneven.

I am really happy with this bookshelf! I shopped all over before selecting this one. I saw some beautiful bookshelves that cost twice as much. They are probably very nice, but this bookshelf, for half the price does the job beautifully. I am a single woman, and a senior citizen but I was able to handle the box and set up the shelves by myself. It took under an hour. It is a good idea as someone suggested, to open the box outside or in the garage so you don't have those bits of styrofoam all over. One reviewer complained the metal is not heavy gauge -- it definitely looks heavy gauge, but thankfully it is not - otherwise I would not be able to lift it. The box says it weighs 55 lbs., which is manageable. Another reviewer said some shelves had broken corners. Everything in my box arrived in perfect condition. I'm thinking about buying another one. See photo of the shelf just assembled, and the finished look. I could not be more pleased. P.S. I am writing this review only because I appreciate others who write reviews; I was not paid to write this.

Great but....

Great but.....

Let me start by saying I love the table, the look etc. It was well packed and looks great if you want a rustic look which is what I wanted in my family room.

The only problem was the assembly. The axle that was included was too short. Thankfully, my father who is an engineer put it together for me. To solve the problem he added a wooden shim and stained it to match the wood. You can't even see the repair/fix.

At this price I would have expected all parts to be included and sized correctly. It was no problem for my father to fix it and since it looks good I decided to keep it. However, if he had not been able to fix it I am sure I would have returned it.

So, the rating would have been 5 stars if not for this complaint.

I have bought several pieces of furniture/accent items over the years, and this one blows me away! You can't beat the price for the quality. If you walk in to a high-end store, this would easily be 4-5 times the price, there. This is NOT junk, it is good quality, the wood is VERY solid and heavy, and the metal is very sturdy. I'm still in awe about how nice they are, for the price I paid. If you want that trendy industrial/rustic vibe going in your home, this is it! I put one on each side of my hanging flatscreen TV in my master bedroom. Now I am thinking about getting the additional style pieces. You won't be disapppointed- and it is pretty easy for someone to assemble! I'm not much of a person to do my own stuff, but these were a piece of cake.

I bought this for my husband. The positive - nice toned wood, the top is beautiful, and the size is nice. The negatives, following the directions, putting the screws on to secure the shelves, with just a hand screwdriver, drove the screws thru the wood causing cracks and breakage. Would love to be contacted by the supplier to get new shelves to replace, and we would use shorter screws! Disappointing. I had several other pieces from this manufacturer on my wish list but probably won't take another chance.

I had a very large blank space in my family room so I began my search for a bookcase. I found this one so I carefully read the product dimensions and some of the reviews and decided to give it a try. I received this bookcase within two days with Prime shipping. It came in a long box that was packaged securely. My husband and eight year old son were able to put this bookcase together within thirty minutes or less. Super easy! Once they had it all assembled I was very pleased with how it looks and it fits perfect in my chosen space. I really like the rustic finish and color on the bookshelves. I mainly purchased this bookcase to have additional display space so I can't speak as to how much weight it would hold but it seems fairly sturdy. I love the overall look of this bookcase and if I needed an additional bookcase I would probably make this purchase again.
