I would recommend buying this. The controller is a good clone, and after reading the reviews, I deicded to buy it. Comes with a CD with the driver. Instructions on how to install (if you don't install correctly, it won't function).
1) Put CD in CD Drive
2) Allow the setup to run (takes about 1 minute to install)
3) Then Plug in the USB Controller into your USB 3.0/2.0 Slot
4) Be sure to map the controller on your game/emulator/device/app/etc

Works well for me. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate, Intel Core i5, and 16GB RAM DDR3. I use this with Project64 Emulator, to emulate N64 games.

The reason I give it 4 Stars is because like everyone mentioned before, the control stick feels a little loose (just not as firm as the original). People complained that it broke up, but honestly I think the only way I would break the control stick is if I was abusing the product.

BOTTOM LINE: Does it feel 100% genuine to the original? Yes.....and no..(you'll have to buy it and try it out yourself to see what I mean). Just take good care of it, and it should last you a while.

It's passable.

The controller itself is not designed much better than Nintendo, and is worse in some areas. The thumbstick is worlds different than the one from the original N64, probably done to avoid copyright issues? But you can tell it's just glued on to a stick on to a typical 2 axis joystick. The buttons are very clicky, and resemble more of a mechanical keyboard than an N64 controller. They are very snappy. If you play games like smash or super mario, that require pressing the A and B buttons together, sometimes the B button can get stuck, and it takes a lot of deliberate action to get unstuck. Very annoying to deal with in the middle of a game.

Absolutely no complaints so far and nothing but praise. I haven't used it all too heavily yet, but the analog stick is wonderfully and perfectly new, although I trust it will wear out just like the original flawed N64 controller. I was not expecting the actual expansion pack adapter in the back so that was a lovely surprise. I hope to find a rumble pack or something out there, as there seems to be no need for a graphics adapter with a program like N64 because the graphics already look significantly improved. Anyway, this is exactly what you are looking for if you need an new old school N64 controller for a computer.

A little light, but it feels good and works great. Plug and play away.

Does it a feel a little light? Sure. Is it weird that the rumble port is there despite the fact that it doesn't actually work with rumble packs? Yeah, a little.

But otherwise, these things work flawlessly. The joystick maybe has a slightly different feel than the original (hard to remember), but it still works great. I bought 2 and my roommate liked them so much, he also bought two.

Plug-and-play functionality. Just set the buttons on whatever you're playing, and you're ready. A quick note: if you're using MotionJoy's PS3 controller program on your computer, that will block these from working. You'll need to uninstall the drivers for that and then plug these back in.

Also, additional recommendation. Get a 4-port USB hub and a USB extender so you can sit away from your computer and enjoy four players.

Just bad product

The package was a nice package. The controller it's self is awful. I know that old N64 controllers had a break in period but this is just broken. The buttons don't always respond and the main joystick is terrible it sqeeks creeks and is difficult to move in any position especially up. The C buttons don't always respond to commands. Other wise it's solid. Also there is no memory card or rumble pack support the Port is there bit empty just as a heads up think it.was written in the discription.

Just about the best you can get right now.

This controller, like a lot of the other reviewers have been saying, has a touchy and slightly jerky analog stick. Works ok for most games though, and you can get used to it pretty quick. When you have to aim using it it can be a pain, but all the buttons work well and it feels pretty close to the original N64 controller other than the stick. From what I understand with basic soldering skills you can replace the stick with one that is more accurate and I may do that later on. It would be nice if there was one for sale that was already equipped with an accurate stick; I'm sure many of us would pay twice the price of this controller for it, but for now this is all we have to work with.

Best for N64-emulating purists

A decent clone. No problems with it so far, although it feels somewhat light and cheap. To be fair, N64 controllers always did. D-pad doesn't ALWAYS register the direction I wanted, but it's hardly enough to ever ruin a game.

I haven't bent the stick yet, but I can tell that an overly enthusiastic wrenching or tapping of it could break it off. Go easy on it and it'll keep you in gaming for some time - I've got a year out of mine so far. But, I really prefer the PS1 Dualshock, so I only really bust this out for N64 games, and play everything else with the Dualshock.

Overall, worth having if you just want an N64 to relive your SM64/Starfox/SSB exerience.

Pretty good

I'll make this quick

PROS: Cheap enough
Works good and it's been months (I use it A LOT)
It's nice to be able to play emulators and such with a legit N64 style and feel, as you play you'll never know the difference.
Better than the stupid weird shape controller here on Amazon like the black nubby one my friend purchased.
Pretty solid. Feels like a real Nintendo brand controller for the most part.

CONS: Joystick feels kind of gritty, was hoping it wouldn't be after breaking in.
On some games the sensitivity is WAY off. Like Mario Party, I push the joystick a little more and it goes from nothing to ALL OF IT and flicking bombs at people's boats and such is very difficult.

Great value and quality
by Jeremy (5 out of 5 stars)

I just got this in the mail yesterday, two shipping. I only started using it today, and I love it. It does feel like a lighter N64 controller. This going from memory, sure the real deal by Nintendo and a great adapter with no delay would be the tops, but for under $20 with 2 day shipping included, this is great. I was worried because most of these generic USB controllers for N64 games get bad reviews, especially the stick. After playing some matches of WWF No Mercy and Virtual Pro Wrestling 2, it felt way better than using a 360 controller on these games. While I didn't make much use of the stick, since those games only use it for taunts and finishers, I didn't feel any problems with it.
