Wouldn't Go Floating Without It!

This tube is, of course, not meant to keep drinks freezing cold for eons. You will be putting an inflatable into warm water while the sun beats down ontop of it; common sense would tell you not to expect miracles. This tube is meant to float while holding drinks & ice. It does that PERFECTLY. When we use ours, we place a 40 quart cooler (full of ice & adult beverages) directly inside. We leave the lid on shore; it just gets in the way of quickly grabbing drinks & is one more thing to keep track of. The cooler tube then connects to our tubes & floats down the river alongside of us, providing us with cold, accessible drinks for hours. The tube is big enough that, even with our cooler inside, there is space on the inside. We leave this space open & throw our empty bottles or cans into it ;) With this setup (no lid, cooler inside), our beer & ice is still cold at the end of our 4-hour float.

Read before you purchase!

Pros: The cooler reviews appeared to look very good but it appeared most people were just floating around with this in a lake, pool, etc. I had 8 adult friends including myself attach to this cooler tube with my RTIC 45 sitting in it while we went tubing down a local river. There were several Rapids and we even had 3 people plus another cooler full of beer attached to just one handle on this cooler and it held up like a champ. This tube is very robust. I was more than suprised considering the torture it went through.

Yeti and rtic 45's fit like a glove in it!

Cons: the lid. I honestly threw it away. Why use the tube as a cooler when you can set an actual cooler in it.

Great for thirsty days out on the lake (or in the pool)
by Pete Paul (5 out of 5 stars)

This cooler is amazing! I tried it on the lake over the memorial day weekend and it held up great. I took some of the advice I saw in other reviews and used a 48 qt. colman cooler and it worked out perfect. I had it tethered to the rear of our pontoon boat and it took all the large waves from the boat traffic really well. We had around a case of beer in the cooler with ice and we had no problems at all with it. The only thing that is tricky is that it's not easy to get your hand into if you are floating in the water. This is only if you use a tall cooler instead of using it the way it comes.

I think we might try it as it was designed next time to take away some of the height and weight. If you like having a few pops as you float around the lake or pool, this think is the answer. My friends were all very impressed and will most likely have one the next time we dock up our boats together. There is also a Intex tethering system, so you can hook up other Intex floatation devices together. Of course you could just use some rope and it works well that way too.

Great cooler as is...could be awesome with a few adjustments.

It's a great cooler. My only suggestions is the lid doesn't stay on because the Velcro is cheap and the attachment material is too long so the both Velcro pieces don't line up tightly. We bought a small 15"x15" cargo net with hooks to keep the lid on tight...hooks attach to handles and are rubber tipped so they won't puncture. Second doesn't effect use, but more a suggestion. On the intertubes, the air intake is on top and has a release valve along with a secondary intake valve for blowing up. This cooler has the typical push in once capped and squeeze to release air, clear rubber valve, on the bottom of the cooler. There is enough room to use the inter tube black plastic valves and to put it on top for easier access when blowing up and deflating. I have added pics for reference.

Upon receiving, we immediately blew it up and left overnight to make sure there are no leaks. I do like the locking attachment (hard plastic but seems very solid) for use with other tubes and/or coolers. Whether or not the rope supplied will last over time I don't know.

Happy!

Def a necessity for a river trip, we used ours as a dry storage, with a bag of food and drinks in there as well; a "safe zone" for clothes and keys (can't believe how many personal items are at the bottom of the river we were on, so we're glad we didn't lose anything! čśé). Holds quite a bit, we must have had 4-5 different grocery bags in there and could have started stacking if we wanted to fill it even more. The quality was impressive, seemed better built than the double raft from intex we bought for the same trip. Def a recommended item for those water days, money will not be wasted.

Great buy!

My friends and I used this inflatable cooler to go tubing on the Comal River. It held up beautifully! It did not tip over during the fast rapids and the ice stayed intact for the entire trip.

A few tips if you do not plan to use a cooler inside of this:
> Freeze water bottles the night before to put in your cooler, these large chunks of ice will help keep things cool
> Leave your ice bag intact rather than breaking it up. We found that our ice hardly melted when it was all together
> Salt your ice so it stays colder longer as well

I think it was better that we did not use a cooler as I am not sure how it would have fit with the lid, but this is personal preference. One improvement I might suggest is to somehow insulate the cupholders with a thick rubber so your drinks don't get as hot as quickly. We could probably have helped things by bringing koozies, but we didn't want to accidentally lose them in the river.

Also, I wish there were handles on the short end so it was a little easier to carry, but overall we loved it and are so glad to have purchased this item! 4.5 stars!

We put a cooler in it, a very heavy cooler and it stayed afloat with beverages all day down the stream! Love this product!

Very stable, Better with a Real Cooler
by Timbo (5 out of 5 stars)

This perfectly fit this 70 qt Coleman marine cooler: Coleman 70 Quart Xtreme® 5 Marine Cooler or sometimes cheaper at Walmart: [...]

Very stable and works ok as a cooler. I recommend getting a marine grade cooler that will keep ice a little longer (like the one above). I was able to use the quick connects (along with a set from my tube) to make little quick connect latches for the cooler handles to ensure a flip wouldn't send everything flying.

Went over several cascades, and even spent a part of the trip riding on top of the cooler that I kept on this float, and everything was still stable.

Good a Dog Tube for a Lazy River Drift
by Maria R. (5 out of 5 stars)

We used this cooler tube to put our Cocker Spaniel in to drift down the river with us. We put a piece of foam in the bottom so his nails wouldn't damage the tube, (could have also used a towel). Even though he is a Cocker he does NOT like the water but our dog definitely felt relaxed floating with us all day since it We didn't use the lid but the bottom portion takes about 10 minutes to blow up with just your lungs.

You NEED this

Love love love these! Super durable. Some times we use this empty for the dog or the kids to float around in (while supervised of course). Holds more drinks thank should be consumed in the pool. Also great for snacks in or out of the pool, or even tubing. Highly recommend.
