Application to your hair is easy. HOW TO USE: 1) Spray a 1 inch wide section of hair with water where you want the color streak to be. 2) Use the hair chalk to color on the wet section, starting at the root-Do not rub up and down. If you wish to use different colors, start with the lightest shade first, going from light to dark for best results. 3) Air dry hair completely. This is a crucial step to the process and must be done for the color to properly attach to your hair. 4) Use a flat iron or curling iron to go over the colored strands to seal in the color. For lasting results, use a small amount of hairspray. This coloring method is intended to last 1-2 days. We recommend washing the color off within the same day to prevent any staining. I initially wanted to get pink streaks dyed in my hair to support a friend recently diagnosed with breast cancer, but I am shy about doing anything permanent to my hair which is baby fine and golden blond. A friend suggested trying hair chalk.

I got my Bundle Monster Hair Chalk set on Thursday and tried it out in the afternoon. Initially, I was just dampening my hair. The chalk went on okay, but not great. So then I tried getting my hair very wet. This worked a lot better. The color went on very bright, but it was dull looking (my hair tends to be very shiny). Since it says that it lasts several days, I figured I would wash my hair to get rid of the excess powder from the chalk. There was definitely color left in, though it went from a bright magenta to more of a medium/dark pink but with the natural shine from my hair. The color stayed the same even the next day after washing it a second time. (I will update with how long the color lasts.)

Overall, I am very impressed. The application process is messy and definitely can stain clothing (so it is best to apply wearing clothes you don't care about). I also highly recommend using gloves. The chalk is fairly small and won't last very long depending on how much color you put in your hair (the pink chalk will probably last for 3-4 more applications - just putting 2 streaks (approximately 1 1/2 inches wide) on either side of my face).

Very beautiful array of colors. Have used the dark ones to hide gray between touch-ups. These DO require water to stay on the hair (you wet the hair area first), so this isn't a grab and do in 5 minutes to go out the door, more like 20 minutes. Without water, they are very difficult to get the color onto the hair. Great box/tray. Would buy again.

I got this to do a temporary pink ombre on my hair for a festival. It was pretty messy but it worked really well! I watched a youtube video on how to use hair chalk and it was pretty easy. And I'm definitely not a creative/crafty type person. It did break in half part of the way through, but you can still use it. The only bad thing is there is a lot of colors that I would never use. Like why would I use brown hair chalk?? My hair is a dark blonde, so thats probably why it worked so easily, I could see it being a problem with darker hair.

this hair chalk was fun! I have ombre hair so the colors looked a lot brighter on the blonde ends of my hair, but certain colors looked bright on the dark brown parts. it is pretty messy, but its messy when u dye ur hair and this isn't permanent. its also cool to try out different colors before actually dying your hair! I would recommend this, especially for younger teens and children.

Was nervous about the bad reviews, but I feel like the negatives are obvious. Its chalk that goes in your hair so of course it is messy, and your hair looks a little dry (like there is chalk in it of course its dry). But I have brown hair, its a little on the darker side, but not black brown. Worked pretty well some colors are better than others, but I thought it was worth it.

I have tried this hair chalk now 3 times. Each time has been a disappointment. I wet hair lightly.. rubbed on chalk and flat ironed.. The color did not stay for even an hr. It just sits.. its a waste.

After letting my hair grow naturally white/gray....this allows me to add a little spunk to my hair. I like to take the tips of my hair and chalk them in different shades. It's a little messy to put on so I suggest wearing gloves but once it is applied correctly to you hair, it does not leak or smear. It does come off easily when you wash your hair with shampoo.

My daughter has dirty blonde hair, and absolutely LOVES this product. Initially, we were afraid to use it with water as we kept hearing horror stories about it staining, but we just couldn't get a concentrated color with dry chalk, so we decided to try it wet.. and I am SO glad we did! The colors came out vibrant, and washed right out! (She chose blue and red in the picture... the girl loves her spiderman)

I definitely recommend the product. We first wet the hair, and also dipped the chalk in water then twisted the hair, and started rubbing the chalk over it.. it takes about 30 seconds of twisting, rubbing.. retwisting, rubbing.. per section to get the color as vibrant as it is in the picture!

Easy to use but read the instructions the first time to make sure you do it right. Very vibrant colors. Every stick arrived in tact and none have broke when we used them. Use them in my three year olds hair and get many complements. She has strawberry blond hair and it stays in even after getting wet as a lighter color.
