Ticket to stopping syncing issues...
by Antonio from Indiana (4 out of 5 stars)

Okay, I saw multiple reviews and saw how people complained of having to turn back on the controllers several times during the game. Some of my controllers weren't even turning on like the reviews...however the battery packs were able to charge on the charger...well 3 of 4...but I'll get back to that.

This is an easy fix. The positive (+) clip of the battery packs is too recessed in. Simply take a flat screwdriver, key, etc. And flex it out taking care no to break it. Do this with all packs regardless of controller coming on or not. Shaking controllers without doing this results in syncing issues. Also, make sure you charge all packs fully before using them.

This is definitely worth the purchase but the 2nd controller space on the base charging station goes in and out. No fixes for that. So I can only charge 3 at a time. Still worth the buy

My charger didn't want to charge the remotes. When I finally got one remote to start charging, the dock started smelling hot. Took the remote out and the plastic was melting on the back by the around it connects to dock. Also ruined my wii remote!! Thanks a lot for nothing Insten. Your product is JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I'm out money and a wii remote!

Worst product of this type I have ever bought.

The battery packs are attached to the back so when you remove the back to press the sync button, which I do often since we have a Wii and a WiiU, you have to remove the battery, too, which means, you can't sync at all! Got past that using AAs to sync, then using the battery packs, but the packs don't hold a charge. I rarely say this about something I get from Amazon, but this really sucks. Get a different, known brand. I buy A LOT a rechargeable doohickies. Nothing had batteries that lost a charge this fast. We have 6 Wii remotes, and this is the 5th charging station I've bought. The others have lasted for YEARS. The charges held for hours of use and weeks out of the charger. Leave one of these out of the charger for one day and it is dead. Nope, nope, nope. Wish I had time to pack it up and return it.

Could use some improvements, but practical
by Amazon Customer (4 out of 5 stars)

About 2 months into using it and it generally is good. There's a few things that are a little annoying, but are livable.

First of all, the actual docking of the remotes is a bit tedious. You have to set it in and put pressure between the remote and the dock in just the right way to get the contacts of the dock and battery pack to engage each other.

Second, there are only two notification light colors. When it is charging it is red, and when it is either completely charged or not docked, it is blue. It would be better if those two were separated out to mean different things.

Finally, the batteries seem to loose their charge more quickly than actual AA batteries would.

In general though, this does its job and conveniently uses a USB port that you can plug into the Wii rather than standard 110 outlet plug. Product could be improved, but does its basic function well.

Too cheap to keep. Poorly made.

Very lightweight.

I doubt the usb power port will last longer than the return window because it is loosey goosey and could break with the slightest tug. Already, any movement at that port changes the charge light colors.

The usb cord it so short, about 3 feet, it won't reach the power outlet without an extension cord.

After 3 hours on a 2.1a USB block, two remotes are still not fully charged.

Pays for itself in battery savings.
by Gordonmd (5 out of 5 stars)

This is the 2nd of these that I bought. All of the previous 4 batteries had died over the course of the year after numerous recharges, so I was not disappointed in that. This manufacturer actually seems to have a better quality than my previous purchase, so I am also happy with that. It is a little bit hard to set the controllers in the right spot so they charge correctly, but it is not that challenging. I have 4 controllers and rarely play 4 at a time, so I always have a back up incase one did not set properly. Before this, I was chewing through AA batteries on a daily basis, so I think it has and will definitely pay for itself in battery savings.

i just plugged it in and the battery does not connect to the charger. So i take off the wrist strap still no charging. You have to wiggle it to get a connection. Even still it does not stay in place for a full charge...

My opinion, don't bother with this

Pretty but low quality chargers
by Kristine F. (2 out of 5 stars)

This charger is very cool at first, it lights up and it appears you can charge up to 4 wii-motes simultaneously and that it will notify you when they are fully charged by changing the LED from red to green. HOWEVER, the wii-motes don't seat properly in the cradle so the charging is intermittent, and after about a month they stopped charging altogether. I returned this item once, thinking it was defective, but the second one was just as bad. It would be a cool product if they improved the charging technology.

Like you have to fiddle with the remote for several ...
by John (2 out of 5 stars)
August 13, 2016

Poorly designed charging slots makes it very difficult to make connection between the batteries contacts and charger contacts. Like you have to fiddle with the remote for several seconds until it is perfectly balanced in the exact position to make the red charging light come on. Would not recommend for young children or Parkinson's sufferers. The slots are simply too shallow and there nothing in the front to put pressure on the contacts. Might be able to modify the dock in some way, but haven't really tried that yet.

Do not expect too much for the price.

Also, there is a USB port on the back of the Wii for the power cable, but this only supplies power when the Wii is powered on (green light). At least the batteries seem to be ok.
