We purchased these as a gift for my brother in law and his girlfriend for their first apartment together in Detroit and they seem to love them! Gandalf looks more like Dumbeldore than anything, but nonetheless the quality of the two ceramic salt and pepper shakers are top notch. The holes where the salt and/or pepper come out from are hardly noticeable and these look more like decoration than anything, which is just perfect for those not seeking obvious items for their intended purposes. I'd highly recommend these to anyone who is a fan of The Lord of the Rings series (books or films). I'd give this five stars if Gandalf looked more like Gandalf, but four stars will suffice!

I used these as a cake topper for our wedding at the Honolulu Aquarium and everyone LOVED them! They were the perfect size to stick ontop of our 6inch round cake (we had a 6 inch round for us to cut and then a sheet cake for everyone to enjoy). I loved that these captured the islands in a cute and fun way! They say a picture is worth 1000 words so check out the pictures I uploaded below. We haven't used them as salt-and-pepper shakers, they just sit proudly in our china cabinet as a memento of our fabulous wedding night.

Perfect for a Batman enthusiast

The Batman and Robin shakers are a tad expensive just for novelty salt shakers, but entirely worth it for a collector. I collect batmobile and batmobile accessories (loosely extends to bat-bikes) and I love love LOVE my new salt shakers. I'm forever on the look out for functional additions to my collection that do more than just take up space in my already small apartment. Perfection!

Made a great cake topper.

Used these as a wedding cake topper. Everyone thought they were adorable. It was used but arrived in mint condition with all the original packaging. After the wedding it is serving as a collector's piece. The only thing I didn't like about it was the obvious black trade mark on the back of Arwen's gown.

Ugh, Poor Quality Painting

I purchased the Aragon and Arwen salt shakers for my daughter. Kitsch for sure, but I only paid $13 dollars so no huge loss.

WHAT YOU GET are two poorly painted, generic figures in medieval garb.

There's a magnet in both down at knee level which keeps them together, and they have holes at neck level, hidden as-it-were in their hair. (He's pepper, she's salt)

The two figures work well as salt and pepper shakers but there's no resemblance to anyone. So make your choice accordingly.

The price and availability of this product seems to fluctuate quite drastically. I finally ordered my LOTR salt and pepper shakers when it was under $15. It comes in a nice collectible box and they really are darling. Great for an fan of the films.

The super heroes are a nice addition to my collection. However, if the piece was taller it would have made for a much better display. With a bigger piece, details could have been brought out, which would have made it a set to brag about.

Paint is sloppy

The quality of these pieces are not the best. The paint is sloppy, but it's not noticeable if you aren't looking for it. The Jafar piece came with the bottom plug missing, but that didn't bother us, because these are more for display than actually using as Salt and Pepper shakers.

To start, I ordered the Arwen and Aragorn set and, upon their arrival (which was earlier than expected), I was super excited to see that their quality was much higher than anticipated. The ceramic is smooth, no chips, and the paint is detailed and certainly not messy. There was, however, a bit of fragility in the magnets, which are located near the bottom of the shakers. They are prone to come unglued. Just be gentle and have super glue handy in anticipation of their weakness. Otherwise, they are adorable!
