Glow Inc.'s glow in the dark paint is made from Grade 0 Strontium Aluminate pigments in a durable, high adhesion acrylic medium. Two pounds of top grade pigment per gallon of medium produces the brightest glow in the dark paint available. Glow in the dark paint absorbs bright light as energy. When placed in the dark, glow in the dark paint releases this energy as a glow. You can repeat this cycle millions of times. Applied properly, glow in the dark paint will lose 5% of its brightness every 10 years. Any light will charge the paint. Direct sunlight, high wattage bulbs, or black lights are needed to obtain the maximum glow. Glow in the dark paint is often used for professional murals and to paint glow in the dark stars on ceilings. Due to its durability, it is also perfect for painting glow in the dark fishing lures and outdoor signs. Each color has a different brightness and glow duration. The Green V10 is the brightest and will glow throughout the night. Glow Purple does not glow very brightly and requires a high wattage charging source. Check the brightness rating for comparison. Sealing coats are not needed. Paint over white surfaces when possible. It is critical that you apply this paint at least 1/16' thick (4 oz per sq. foot) for proper glow and a smooth appearance. Glow in the dark paint is shipped ready to use with a standard brush or roller. Thin with acrylic thinner or a tiny amount of water. Clean up with soapy water. We do not recommend that our glow in the dark paints be applied to the skin or hair. For the brightest, professional stars, put the paint in a baby feeding syringe. Use pressure on the plunger to squeeze out tiny 1/16' cones of glow in the dark paint. Use 2 Ounces of Green V10 Glow in the Dark Paint for a typical room, preferrably on a white ceiling. Paint additional stars near the top of the walls as well.

Dull glow at best

Tried painting my son's name on the wall. I saw more Glow in the Dark effect with the stars from the Dollar Tree. I 'charged' it with sunlight and tried again. Dull glow at best. I really wanted the super glow (and my son has a black light in his room as well...nothing. Zip.)

It takes about 3 coats to get the glow in the dark effect, but it does work well. This was used for a musical production of Peter Pan to paint windows and accents on Big Ben, London Bridge and the other miniature buildings as the characters "flew" up above. The sheen is like an eggshell finish(slight gloss). The texture goes on like thick white glue with gritty sand in it. The biggest drawback is that it's expensive for such a small amount.

"Ultra blue" is turquoise at best. The granular nature of the product makes it difficult to work with on smaller projects. I imagine it would be fine with larger ones, yet the quantity is quite limited. With little more than a decent lip balm container.

Great product! The glow is extremely bright, and lasts very long.

When I go camping I paint my children (3,5,10, and 4) with this stuff, and I can see them very clearly in the dark until bed time, plus they love running around in the dark with this stuff all over them.

This worked terrific for my daughter's birthday party craft of painting inside a glass jar, which can then be used as a bit of a night light. The girls had so much fun painting and there was plenty in the container to go around.

Doesn't have the glow I was hoping for in the application I'm using it for, even with multiple multiple coats.

Apparently daylight isn't quite enough to 'charge' this paint up. Maybe another use that some direct sunlight would garner a different result.

As far as illuminance goes it is superior to any other. I give it only 4 stars because as a paint it doesn't stick very well but to be fair to it I did not use a primer before applying it either.
