NEEDS SUGAR TO WORK

Delivery was FAST! Problems were: NUMBER ONE The liquid you use HAS to have real sugar in it! It absolutely will not work if it's a sugar free soda or anything else diet. I dont recall reading that in description and that's an important fact. 2. Really small amount like maybe 3/4 cup! 3. Keeps freezing after you get it to what u want consistency wise, so it keeps getting harder and drier. 4. Also. BIG one, the consistenct is NOT at all similar to an Icee or Slurpy! It's chunky like a cheaply made snow cone. Guess if u want to make a slurpy, you need to buy one of the electric machines. I figured that was the case when ordering, but thought, I have Amazon Prime so free shipping back and forth so why not give it a try. Kids might like this, but only one because any other kids wanting a serving will be waiting a long time.

Dude, slushee freaking everything! My only "complaint" I guess, per say, is that I wish it was larger. It's absolutely perfect and preforms it's job 110% as intended for to slushee your beverage of choice (adult or not). I personally would love to see one that does... like a liters worth of slushification all at once.

steps to use:
1.) freeze the damn thing.. duh
2.) pour in beverage
3.) wait 8 mins ish and stir and scrape the sides of container with included slushee thing...
4.) enjoy!
5.) reuse until no longer viable for slushification.
6.) Handwash and dry
7.) REPEAT

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make a liter of cola version haha

Easy corn syrup free ice cream!

I recently discovered I have hypoglycemic-like reaction to corn syrup(especially the high fructose) It's been very difficult, I never knew how rampant corn syrup was in american food until I had this issue! I love ice cream, but the ones without corn syrup tend to be expensive, so I decided it was time to make my own!

This little thing has been a dream. It's so easy to pop in a few ingredients and then stir occasionally while watching a youtube vid or something. It holds exactly 1 cup of everything, so the portions are small, sometimes I go for a refill!

My only complaint is that it's very cold to clean, but if you work fast it's not so bad! And it's not difficult to clean, just a rinse with soap and then quickly wipe off the water before it freezes on! There's also a slight plastic taste to everything it makes, but that happens with nearly all plastic things, I have a sensitive tongue so others might not notice.

I was too excited to look up recipes, so I've made my own, which I'll list here:
2 1/2 Tb sugar
2-3 drops vanilla extract

Optional: 2 tsp cocoa powder if you want chocolate(it'll mix in as it freezes)

Or half a banana(it'll mash as you stir the frozen milk)

Then fill with milk to the lip of the cup!

This product worked great until the seam on the bottom of the cup separated.( see photos) And of course it happened a few days after the return window closed! I received it on 5/4/17 and the window closed on 6/4/17 and the cup broke on 6/9/17. Not a happy camper right now!

Works Great But Doesn't Last Long

I am very disappointed. I received the Zoku Slush and Shake Maker as a gift (purchased from Amazon) at the end of June 2014. It worked well. Used it several times a week, and it was a lot of fun. But just today (Aug. 23 2014) I was using it and noticed a lot of liquid in the holder when I was done. The refrigerant is leaking out of the bottom. I have followed ALL directions for this thing fastidiously, never put it in the dishwasher, never stored it either in or out of the freezer upside down, never used any utensil in it except the plastic spoon it came with, and it has never been dropped. It's just not built to last, as you can see there's a seam around the bottom of the cup and that's where it's leaking. I don't feel that two months of use is really acceptable for a product that costs $20.

UPDATE 9/28/2014: Updating to add that I contacted the company and they shipped me a new unit free of charge. They were very friendly and helpful.

AWESOME product! I especially love it for a nice relaxing adult beverage ( If you are a woman over 50, one serving of alcohol per day can benefit your body according to the American Dietetic Association)! My Fave: Add some premium tequila to a home made serving of a lime sour mix or a premix and pour in into your pre-frozen mug and stir!! No blender to clean, no watery slushy as you arent adding ice! You will need a bit of patience as you wait for the icey dream to thicken! Warm weather is approaching so this makes a perfect gift!! Your best bet is to order one for every member of your home, otherwise when you are craving your refreshment, your cup wont be available for use!!! Add Zing to an average beverage with Zoku! #ZokuZing !!!!

It works great, does what it advertises. Best part is your slushie isn't watered down by ice that you would need if you didn't have the zoku. Freeze. Pour. Stir. Enjoy. I would have liked the product to be more travel friendly, to come with a lid, and to fit in a vehicle cup holder, and also the lip of the cup is shaped very oddly, and it's shorter in some sides which makes it easy to spill if it us still liquid. Overall it's a great product, it just needs to be travel friendly.

I was skeptical after reading mixed reviews of this but decided to take the plunge anyway. I bought it for my son for his birthday. It actually does work! Just like it says it will. Now, it will not look quite like the Mr. Slushy machine slushes but close and tasty! My son absolutely loves it and I'm pleased that it works. Just make sure you follow the easy directions for washing and storing and you will have no trouble!

I have made ice cream with chocolate milk, slushies with kool-aide, frozen yogurt, etc. I find it best to store upside down in freezer so any drips of water from washing will empty while freezing. takes refrigerator cold ingredients about 5 minutes to start freezing, 10 or more for room temp ingredients.

In December we somewhat randomly purchased one of these as a birthday gift for one of our kids who loves slushies. Five months later, it has become such a hot item at our house (2 parents and 3 kids) that we ordered 2 more. All three Zoku slush makers are used on a daily basis.

While it does take some time for the drink that you pour inside to freeze thoroughly to make a nice slushy, I have never heard complaints about the time that it takes. It works really well and they love the result.
