Product Description

The best windproof umbrella for weathering any storm

An umbrella shouldn’t be a disposable item, bending and turning inside-out after only a couple of April showers. The BLUNT Metro Umbrella, boasting a rip resistant polyester canopy and rugged stretchers as part of our proprietary Radial Tensioning System, is impervious to driving rains and winds of up to 55 mph. With no sharp tips to gouge others, the BLUNT is also the best umbrella for densely populated areas. Available in 11 fashionable colors, you are sure to find one to convey your unique style.

Groundbreaking design and durability

Our patented Radial Tensioning System equally distributes the effort of opening the umbrella across the entire canopy surface. This results in an aerodynamic defense against high winds and torrential downpours. The generous 37” canopy offers greater protection for your business attire, important papers and more. The 2-stage telescoping design of the anodized aluminum shaft allows it to tuck away under a car seat or in a briefcase when not in use. Fully collapsed, the BLUNT Metro Umbrella stored in its carrying sleeve weighs less than a pound and is just 14” in length.

Customer Satisfaction is our top priority

We insist on superior and craftsmanship to bring you this premium Blunt Windproof Umbrella, including a 38-point check system for quality control. We confidently offer a 30 Day Money Back Guarantee for your peace of mind. In the unlikely event that our product does not perform to your expectations, return it for a full refund of your purchase price. No questions asked.

Blunt umbrella and customer service
by lion1234 (3 out of 5 stars)

I like this umbrella. It withstands wind quite nicely and I very much like the way the closing and opening mechanism works. It's small when opened, but it fits in the bag nicely. If you can live with this trade off and the high price, it's a good product.

Now, the umbrella comes with 2 year warranty. In my other Blunt umbrella (Blunt Lite) a tip inside the canape broke and I contacted Blunt to inquire about having it replaced. It's now been over a month, and in spite of almost daily emails, and even after having removed the broken piece using instructions they provided, I am still waiting for the resolution. This is not the kind of service one expects when paying a premium price for a product. I hope Blunt reads this and figures out how to streamline the process.

Warranty is Useless without Customer Service Replying
by Spencer (1 out of 5 stars)

I loved my blunt umbrella until one day when one of the arms snapped in the rain. I spent the extra money to purchase a nice umbrella knowing that they had a 5 year warranty should anything happen. I sent an e-mail to customer service and have not heard anything back. I am very disappointed in the customer service and now have a $60 umbrella that is useless.

Great design. Disappointing quality.

Love the engineering and design of this umbrella, but the build quality is awful.

Lots of loose threads, sloppy stitching, cheap materials...not what I expect for the premium price. Worse yet, this was an anniversary gift for my wife, who loves umbrellas, so the surprisingly cheap build quality was embarrassing as well as disappointing.

In the future, I'll look elsewhere for a nicer umbrella, or at least save money and buy a cheaper one.

The shaft snapped off. A board feel on it as it was lying open on the floor but the shaft is made of light weight plastic. If it had been aluminum or some other metal it would have been durable. So is it really worth the price if it is that fragile. Cheap $10 umbrellas have a steel handle. I don't understand the rationale behind the poor quality. I have written to Blunt USA and asked them to replace the item and have not heard back yet. I don't know if it even matters. Buyer beware and bear the risk.

XS_Metro is single person umbrella for windy rainy days that holds up to pretty much everything!
by Brian McLaughlin (4 out of 5 stars)
December 27, 2016

I purchased the Blunt XS_Metro Umbrella (Orange) for commuting to the city every day. I have to walk 8 blocks to my work location and while it is great exercise, it is terrible on the rainy days. Terrible. I have broken 2 other umbrellas before purchasing the Blunt XS_metro because of how windy it gets. The size of the blunt is NOT the smallest one, but the quality makes the extra size worth it without question. This has stood up to insane wind gusts where everyone around me had their umbrellas basically break into pieces. When it is opened it is definitely only going to cover 1 person, if you need to cover 2 people, you should get the larger size. The quality of materials used is also way higher than any umbrella i've ever had. I highly recommend this if you have to face wind and serious rain at any frequency. This thing is incredible!

UPDATE! Not bad
by CaliberCable (2 out of 5 stars)
January 16, 2019

It's rugged for sure, looks great! But the radius when deployed is super small. I still get wet on a rainy windy day. This would rate as a small, made for a toddler. I was wish they had a Large one, made for an adult. I'd buy that one!

UPDATE! Gave one less star. After one month of use, the umbrella is extremely rickety and wobbly. It feels cheap and looks like a toy. Very sad with this purchase.

Need both hands to close it.
by OldFashionReader (3 out of 5 stars)

It's a pretty and fancy umbrella.

Handle must be improved as with heavy wind, it turns the umbrella to be difficult to hold.

It would be great if it could be closed with a button, so entering to a car in the parking lot while raining is not that difficult as you need both hands to close it.

Also, the shape of the umbrella at this size does not protect as expected.

Impression is that a regular umbrella, circular, offers better protection.

At $25 a rainstorm, not really worth it.

For $50, I wold expect it to last more than two rain storms. I live in the NYC metro area, so we generally don't get horrible storms either, but this thing died after just too storms. It sure looks pretty in the umbrella graveyard though. I would definately not buy again. I have gotten a nice wind-proof one from Totes before, but can't seem to find it now. I need to find a new one though, so the search continues.

Perfect umbrella for city living!
by Amanda Wade (5 out of 5 stars)

Definitely windproof! Perfect umbrella for city living.

It gets extremely windy where I live, and I've typically gone through 2 umbrellas a year. They typically break in the first 5 uses, but I had gotten used to dealing with a damaged umbrella until it was absolutely dead. However, I've had this umbrella through two blizzard-heavy winters, rainy springs and gusty autumns and can confirm that it is the best umbrella for city living. It flipped exactly once (when a hurricane was coming in, to be fair) without any lasting damage. On days when ordinarily I'd be struggling to keep the umbrella from flipping or just struggling to walk through the heavy winds, this umbrella doesn't even feel it.

Best money spent for a quality umbrella
by Anonymous (5 out of 5 stars)
June 4, 2018

Best money spent for a quality umbrella. Have used it in very windy weather without any issues. I was with several friends who were using standard run-of-the-mill cheap umbrellas which all flipped inside out and broke. This umbrella didn't even show any signs of possible strain. Ended up buying a second one so my husband had one too.
