Hard for product to flow through clip

I love the idea of this clip. I have two of them, both on cereal bags. The clip does a great job of keeping the cereal fresh, but I have a great deal of trouble getting the cereal to flow through the opening! I have tried re-clipping the seal many times, with the bag in different configurations to see if it would improve the flow. I generally just remove the clip to pour the cereal and put it back on when I put the bag back on the shelf. I had hoped this would be an easy-pour clip for my Grands to use. Unfortunately, it is just frustrating for them.

A bit awkward to use but I get the idea. If I had the right package it might be fine. Just seems easier to cut a nice hole for good pouring of contents from bag and then close up package with clothes pin. It takes longer to snap this thing shut than it does to roll up the extra plastic and attach a clothes pin.

I use this in my 2 lb coffee beans bags and it works like charm. I think the design can be enhanced by making it less flimsy and the plastic locking mechanisms on the lid and on the horizontal pinching piece more secure.
