Product Description

Run or cycle with maximum visibility wearing the lightweight (6.5 oz), intelligently illuminated and 3M reflective Tracer360 Visibility Vest. This is one of the most innovative and effective high viz safety vests available. The all-season/rain-proof design is ultra-comfortable, incredibly durable and adjustable to be worn over a t-shirt or your favorite cycling or running jacket. Perfect for night running, early morning bike commutes and everything in between. A headlamp or running light can't provide the type of eye-catching, 360° illumination of the Tracer360. Even the best reflectivity, on your running shoes to your high viz jacket, is only effective in the path of headlights. The Tracer360's unique, multi-color illumination modes are based on visual science and tailored to catch the attention of today's smart phone-distracted drivers. The vest uses two powerful, efficient CREE LEDs. The five dynamic illumination modes are software-controlled and combine flash, strobe and blink modulation across a variety of colors dramatically increasing visibility and safety. Also the Tracer360 includes six solid colors. It also works great as a PT belt. With superior breathability and minimal fabric-to-body contact the Tracer360 won't trap sweat. It also won't interfere with your hydration belt. Be ready to hit the road for your next nighttime run or evening bike ride in this powerfully illuminated and 3M reflective vest.

Features

  • ALL THE COLORS IN ONE – Change between 8 super bright solid colors - Green, Red, Blue, Pink, Yellow, Blue & Pink (mixed), Pink & Green (mixed) and Blue & Red (mixed) AND 8 eye-catching multicolor flashing modes – Our special illumination modes are based on visual science to give visibility to you and warning to motorists. Modes are easily selectable at the press of a button, easy to access if you're walking, running, playing ultimate frisbee, riding a horse, or even riding a motorcycle.
  • TRUE 360 DEGREE ILLUMINATION, REFLECTIVITY, & FLUORESCENCE – Unlike other reflective running vests and hi viz cycling gear, our flexible fiber optic cables, and 3M reflector chest belts actively keep you safe by alerting distracted drivers and traffic before their headlights are on you. The unique X shape of the led lights guarantees a larger visibility area, illuminating both sides of the body and making you visible from over a quarter mile in any direction
  • LIGHTWEIGHT, BREATHABLE, & EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE – If it’s for a short jog in the morning with the kids, walking your dogs in the evening, or an all night solo ride, at only 6.5 oz – you’ll forget you’re wearing it. Using High Quality Sports Mesh and elastic makes the Tracer2 Sweat Resistant, Chafe-free, comfy to wear. The slim, minimalist design ensures minimal fabric-to-body contact, less sweat-trapping, and helps it not interfere with your HRM (heart rate monitor)
  • HIGHLY ADJUSTABLE - WEAR IT ANYTIME OF YEAR – Expand it to fit over your cold weather coat or jacket or adjust it down to fit more snug on t-shirts or singlets during those hot summer night activities. Experience a perfect fit and zero bounce, no matter the season or clothes, Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter, the Tracer2 will go as long as you do, even rain and snow won't slow you down with the waterproof design
  • ENGINEERED FOR EXCELLENCE– Noxgear was founded by engineer athletes, who continue to apply the same rigor and discipline as they did designing rockets and robots to providing you a 5-star product with 5-star customer service.

mediocre design for a much needed product

It's nice that a few companies are trying to make something like this, but they have much to improve before it can be called a great product.

Here is my feedback as a former competitive runner and who still tries to run as fast as possible off of 60-mile weeks and a limited number of workouts:
- you have to wear the chest strap rather tight to keep the back module from moving around
- it's not ideal to have to place the strap near the diaphragm where it is just uncomfortable and also gets in the way of any heart monitor strap you may have
- it causes shirts and jackets ride up a bit which leads to chafing
- it obviously keeps clothing tight against the body which causes more sweat
- it is not easy to clean once it is sweaty and smelly
- unless you get a get a size too small, the tubing is a bit loose around the waist and easily catches swinging hands when running (have to use bread ties in the back to keep the tubing tighter and closer to the body)
- the module seems unnecessarily big
- the clamps that keep the tubing in place end up damaging the tubing over time

It would be great to simply have tubing that could thread around the shoulders/waist of a normal lightweight reflective vest with a small battery case that could clip onto pants/shorts. However, as far as I know, that product doesn't yet exist and this might be the best option we have in the meantime.

If you want to be seen after dark, look no further.

After seeing ads for this on Facebook, and after being repeatedly reminded by my wife that I should have some sort of safety gear on for running after dark, I decided to try this out. I love that it is lightweight, easily adjustable and VERY visible. The light button is easy to reach, even while wearing, so if you need to turn it off or want to change between the many color options (including flashing light options), it's simple to do on the fly. The chest strap clasps securely and I don't see this as having any durability issues.

If I had one gripe about it, I haven't quite dialed in the fit yet. The chest strap seems to shift up, although not horribly, during runs. Again, this might bother me more than others, but it's definitely not enough to keep me from highly recommending this product. Even though the band shifts, the battery pack stays in place, and I haven't noticed any distracting movement from it.

I'd choose this 10 out of 10 times over a safety vest.

Great product but could use some improvement

I bought this vest to go with the LightHound dog harnesses. The price was the same as the harnesses ($59.99) which I felt to be a bit steep considering the construction feels flimsier. One of the plastic cables used to transmit the LED light has broken within 6 months and reduced the usability of the item.

I like the low profile and lightweight design; however, it is not rechargeable and requires multiple AAA batteries. This means it can run longer on a low charge but will remain in the red (low battery indicator) for a long time before the batteries finally die. It can mean needing to carry spare batteries if the vest has been in the red a while. I think this would benefit from a rechargeable battery option.

It comes with multiple light options: rainbow pulse, rainbow strobe, rainbow cycle, solid pulse, solid strobe, and solid static. The colours are white, blue, green, purple, pink, and red. The vest will turn red when the battery is low so I don't recommend choosing red as your default colour. The downside is that you have to cycle through the options with the on/off button so it can take a little time.

The chest strap is an elastic safety yellow with reflector strip and connects in front with a quick release clasp. The straps are also adjustable with plastic cinches. You may have to ajust the width as the vest does move a bit when running. The shoulder "straps" are plastic, similar to fibre optic cables. They attach at both ends to the LED emitting housing and pass through the elastic chest harness in front. There are two plastic toggles in front to adjust the fit as well. The toggles do slide as you move and I've found I've had to constantly adjust the harness. I'm a female and I found the harness to drift to one side and the "straps" getting in the way or falling off my shoulder. A male user may not experience the same problems.

The toggles also create kinks in the plastic cables which cause damage over time. Wearing the harness with a hip pack will also cause damage to the cables. I found one of the cables broken during a walk/run. It broke near where it attaches to the LED housing and I cannot find a way to reattach it without losing the LED directivity and therefore, the optimum illumination.

I've used it in light to heavy rain but, considering my experience with the LightHound, am leery of declaring it properly waterproof. It does seem to be relatively water resistant though. it definitely stands out well against a black outfit and makes me feel safer when on or near the road in low light. I think this would also be good for cyclists as it provides the kind of visibility and silhouette definition blinker lights can't.

I'm including a video of the LightHound harness to show how the colour cycling works. It's got the same set-up as the Tracer360.

PROS:

Lightweight

Easily adjustable sizing

Compact size

Multiple colour options

High illumination factor

CONS:

Not rechargeable

Flimsy feeling design

I won't be getting hit by a car again!
by Amanda (5 out of 5 stars)

I run at 5AM and beyond my neighborhood, the roadways are pitch black. Despite the lighting in my neighborhood, I was hit by a car last week coming out of an alleyway. I remembered one of my friends receiving the Tracer 360 as a gift. I asked her about her experience with the product and purchased the unit on her recommendation.

Adjusting the vest is easy. The reflective chest band is elastic and keeps all the other components in place. The illuminated tubing is fixed at the rear and has adjustable anchor buttons on the front, so it's easy adjust the length of the tubing to fit your shoulders. I purchased the XL because the chest band is adjustable from 29-44 inches, so both my husband and I can use the unit. The power pack on the back has a button that allows you to turn the unit on/off and select the color(s) and mode (solid/flashing) you want to use. The product is very lightweight and does not interfere your movement. If it weren't such a glowing beacon of light, you wouldn't even notice it was there.

I tried it out for three runs last week and I'm impressed! It felt really weird to be so visible during my runs, but there was no question as to whether or not drivers were able to see me. Cars started moving over 500+ feet down the road, even when I was on the sidewalk.

This product is lightweight, provides free range of motion, is incredibly bright, and well worth the money. I'll be recommending the Tracer 360 to all of my friends that run in the early morning and at night.

I also purchased a clip on light (Lone Wolf Active Safety Light) from Amazon that works great with the Tracer 360. The clip on light illuminates the road and, more importantly, let's me see spiderwebs while running under low hanging trees.

This is by far the best visibility vest I've ever had, I don't usually run in the dark but when summer comes and you have a marathon training, I'd prefer to run early try to avoid the heat. This works good for me, worth the money.

Must have for runners after dark.
by Joey Chao (5 out of 5 stars)

I have only worn the vest for running. I run primarily after work and typically in the dark in a suburban neighborhood with plenty of traffic. One evening I was driving through my neighborhood when I was complete caught off guard by a runner which got me thinking safety options for myself. With all the good reviews I decided to purchase the Tracer360. I'm 5'5 120lbs and went with the small. It fits perfectly with plenty of room for adjustments. The vest is very bright. I have no doubt vehicles noticed me on my first run. I had cars slow down almost to a stop when they got near me, a couple of cars turned on their hi beams, and even a police officer did a u turn to get a second look at me. I have no problem reaching the button on the back while the vest is on but I could possibly see others not being able to. In that case you just turn it on or off before you put the vest on. The different colors are a bonus. I experimented around and settled on red. My wife shares the vest since we don't run together and she likes to change it to pink. The vest is comfortable. I don't find that the straps or lights get in the way. My wife also said the vest was very comfortable for women. I highly recommend this product to anyone. Cars can see you coming or going giving them a chance to avoid you and the extra safety measure.

Must have product for running at night

Wanted to get in some good distance before writing a review. If you run in the dark or dusk hours, get this product. Period. End of story. I do 100% of my weekday runs in the dark. in the late fall, winter, and early spring. I don't want to wear a headlamp. I don't want to wear clip on lights. Or a lot of the other visability products out there. And I don't have faith in reflective wear providing drivers ample warning that there is someone running near their path. This product does everything it is designed to do. And has a wide variety of settings to provide you what you think will work best to meet your visability needs. And unless you run through an area that is pitch black, you won't even know you are wearing it. Its that comfortable. I only realize I'm wearing it when suddenly there is a glow around me when I go through areas with zero ambient lighting. I have also found the battery life to be better than I expected. Of course, your mileage will vary based on battery brand. USB chargeable battery would be nice, and I suspect it will be in the next generation product.

The one thing this product does NOT do is project any kind of light in front of you that you could use to light your path. You will still need a flashlight or headlamp for that if you are running trails or areas where you need/want to have a lighted path.

I feel much safer out running the streets at night with NoxGear. Can not recommend this product enough.

If You Need to be Seen at Night Buy This Product Now!!!

3 Jan 2018 update after almost 1 full year of use, 1023 miles logged: Still 5-STARS, the vest continues to operate as advertised. Its been through several rain storms and extreme cold for (Central Florida). I have replaced the batteries 3 times in one year. After every run I have rinsed it off being careful not to get battery compartment wet. I still get questions from other runners and cars passing by. Once again if you want to seen at night and early mornings get this vest.

My review after 4 predawn runs totaling 30 miles about 10 of those miles in the street no sidewalk available. The Tracer360 is light weight and bright after the first few steps I forgot I was wearing it. I'm 6'3", 215 pounds and ordered the XL, after adjusting the straps and tubes I still found there was a little bounce in the lighted tubes so I crossed them over my head to form an X this took some additional slack out and there was no more bounce in the tubes or the battery pack, this also eliminated the possibility of the tubes sliding off my shoulders as I ran. I wear a chest heart rate monitor when I'm running and found the included reflective belt on the Tracer360 did not interfere with it at all. The belt rested just below the heart rate strap and never moved. The purpose of this product is to illuminate your person at night and it does that with flying colors (pun intended). I used one of the many flashing modes on each run, not only did every approaching vehicle move over before they even got close to me, they all actually slowed down, some of them to a crawl trying to figure out what the hell was approaching them, this even happened several times while I was running on the sidewalk with 10 to 20 feet between road and sidewalk. If you are wearing the Tracer360 you be seen!!!

An absolute must!

Bought this vest after longing over my friends that she bought last year for Badwater 135. Finally dropped the hammer and ordered it. I could not be more happy about this purchase. You are beyond super visible and I feel much safer on evening and night runs on the road. You can change the colors easily and make it flashing if you're in high traffic areas.....although the flashing does get a bit disorienting if it's on too long.

It fits well alone or over a light running jacket, and you can extend the chest strap to accommodate going over a hydration pack. Either way you choose to wear it, it is comfortable, doesn't bounce, and adjusts easily. I'm 5'10" and 160 (with a DD bust) and I bought the medium/large, the small wouldn't have had enough adjustment in the chest strap to fit over my hydration pack comfortably.

I would recommend anyone who trains through the winter and is relegated to road running in the dark to buy one of these.
