INDEED, A PRODUCT OF EXCELLENCE!
by AlwaysUseWisdom (5 out of 5 stars)

The "SPORT-BRELLA VERSA-BRELLA 4-WAY SWIVELING SUN SPORT-BRELLA" are the top of the line, baby! ;-D

Seriously, I'm elated to see a product which has EXCELLENT craftmanship. I ordered one (then, after fully inspecting it and putting it to the rigors of high winds AND hot sun and rain)...I re-ordered THREE more to gift to family & friends!

You'll also love the way it adjust and the rich vibrant color seem like it has " lasting" power. The special shape of the "brella" separates it from all the "wanna-bees" on the market. This is a cleverly designed umbrella...the creator/designer must be very proud of him or herself.

This one's a WINNER!

This is my personal testimony of how much I like these "particular" umbrellas. By the way, they come in MORE beautiful colors, as well. It FOLDS down nicely and slides in the carrying tote very easily. It is very easy to mount it to anything that fit the adjustable slot. DON'T WORRY MOST CHAIRS, ETC. will fit it. The inventor took that factor into consideration, as well. The company also offers a warranty on the product...;if it breaks you get a BRAND NEW ONE, case closed!

When companies make premium products...they usually STAND BEHIND that product because they know that it will function as they intended. YAY!

I will attempt to UPDATE within a year or two to let you know how well these umbrellas held up. That's if Amazon will permit me do that.

So far...VERY VERY GOOD!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! It's exactly what I've been looking for!

***for those debating on which size to buy if you're using it on a stroller, this is the regular size & it's perfect, any bigger would've been in the way.

We love to travel & be on the go with our kids. We go to Disney World once or twice a year as well as numerous day trips to the zoo & other fun places. I hate trying to try to shade the baby when he's sleeping in the stroller at Disney, or anywhere else (we don't go back to the rooms for naps because there's too much time wasted in traveling back & forth & then the kiddos will probably fall asleep on the bus ride & then be wide awake from their power nap when you get to the resort, so we invested in a big comfy stroller years ago, mainly just for Disney, lol) I usually clip thin blankets all around & unzip the fabric behind their head for airflow, but it's still bright & there's inevitably still sun shining on feet & legs & I also hate the direct sunlight on the baby/toddlers legs while we're strolling around & they're awake (I'm third generation skin cancer, & I have fair skinned kiddos). I've tried normal stroller umbrellas, but they don't offer much coverage unless I put two on, & they're domed so they don't lay well & that's a pain...BUT I finally found this cool umbrella. It's odd shaped & flatter so it fits great, & it pivots in 4 places to get the coverage you need! This one isn't in the way of anything (I can still get to the kids, the basket, the cupholders, etc.), I can still clip a stroller fan on the inside for when they're sleeping, and now I only need to use one of the thin muslin swaddle blankets clothes pinned with 1-2 clothes pins on one side to keep the sunlight out and off of the sleeping kiddo 💗 The only drawback I have with it is it makes my double stroller a little bit wider but I can easily reach underneath of it and and pop the top down to make it laydown flatter to get through doorways.

I hooked it on the bar down by the basket of our stroller so that it laid flat on top of the canopies, but I can also attach it higher to shade the adults if I wanted to.

Other reviews are spot on, and overall this umbrella is good (but not a miracle)

If you've read the other reviews, then nothing will surprise you with this umbrella. The various points of articulation work pretty well, although some are stickier than others (and simply require some wiggling during adjustment). There is that clamp problem where there's a metal nut that can come out if you loosen the clamp almost all the way. The superglue fix others have described here is easy, but you have to do it BEFORE you lose the nut. Just make sure you don't accidentally glue your clamp into a static position.

As for the umbrella as an umbrella, it has made the beach much more bearable. I originally got it because I'm pregnant and right now my skin is too sensitive to handle the sun exposure I would normally be fine with. I've taken this umbrella to the beach multiple times, and it's great. It clamps right to the back of my chair and is easily adjustable as the sun moves, or if you move your chair. I also clamped it to my deck railing to create some shade while my husband was grilling this summer, and that worked pretty well. It doesn't cover a huge area, but if you're in one spot, it'll do.

Mild winds don't faze the umbrella. In moderate winds or with gusts, you need to be aware of wind direction so you don't accidentally create a sail out of your umbrella. As with any umbrella, it will catch in a stiff breeze. The Sport-Brella never threatened to break or invert, but the strongest beach winds did cause it to shift/slide from its clamped position. Basically, this thing isn't wind-proof, so don't expect it to be.

I imagine that I will continue to use this at the beach in the future, since it does wonders for not getting too hot (or getting burnt after forgetting to reapply sunscreen, which I've done several times). I also like that the clamp is so versatile, since it can attach to other chairs, a stroller, or a deck railing. I can only imagine how useful it will be if I'm taking my impending kid somewhere in a stroller and there's strong sun or some rain. Being able to protect yourself without taking up your hands is clutch. Definitely glad I made this purchase.

Everything (besides size) seems to be the same between the regular and XL sizes except the XL has a longer pole plus it has an extension lever also so it can expand longer. The clips, angle button and push lever are all identical just that added extension lever and size the color is off ever so slightly also but material seems to be the same. Hope this photo of size comparison helps.

BEWARE. If it breaks, you're done.
by PMCC (1 out of 5 stars)

I really WANT to give this 5 stars, because it's a GREAT umbrella. I love the shape, I love the elbow that helps tilt the umbrella to block the sun, I love that I can turn the whole thing without moving it from one place to another.

HOWEVER. I was only able to use this about 4 times before the clamp just broke. The screw won't hold up, the buttons on the clamp are stuck pushed in, and so the stability of the entire thing is completely shot. There's not a way to attach it securely to anything anymore, without using rope to tie it in place. Nor is there a way to keep it from flopping over, because the buttons are pushed in and won't come back out. I'm very disappointed, and I will not be buying a replacement. It was a waste of money, because not only is it now broken and complicated to use, I cannot find a way to contact the seller. I hope they troll the reviews and can tell me what I'm supposed to do with a broken umbrella that I've only owned since April (so, 3 months).

Buy this, it is worth it!

Thus is the second Cancun trip with this item. It is great! My wife likes no sun so this allows us to pull a beach chairs together and I can set it up and "boom" no sun for her. The clamp holds up in wind and the adjustable angles that the umbrella has allows you to sort of aim the shade. Great product and it fits into a suitcase!!

Hardware tightens securely and moves easily between equipment

Take note of the umbrella shape.. It's not round and will cover the legs while sitting in a wheelchair. Hardware tightens securely and moves easily between equipment. Spines of umbrella are strong but fold conveniently into the included bag.

The exact difference between their regular and XL model was ...

The exact difference between their regular and XL model was very unclear, and the description of their regular model actually references to the XL. Since I got no answers from "the community" I ordered both to see exactly for myself. Given the 50% price difference ($20 vs $30) I would have expected the XL to be at least 50% larger, especially given most of the cost is in the multi-adjustable handle. That was definitely not the case and the XL was only 2" wider from an umbrella panel standpoint, and had a 4" longer handle (see photos). Either way the XL was still way smaller than the $10 umbrella I picked up at Home Depot, that protects me from both sun and rain. Plus with the odd shape of the umbrella top I couldn't adjust it to keep my entire 6' 5" frame out of the sun.

What they don't tell you.
by Water (4 out of 5 stars)

What they don't tell you is that the knob has a nut inside it that screws onto the screw that is attached to the clamp. If you completely unscrew the knob, it falls off and the nut rolls away - in my case into the sand. The company was very accommodating and sent me replacement knobs and nuts. Here is how I solved this problem: With NO MORE than a drop of crazy glue, I used a toothpick to spread it on the top of the nut, CAREFUL not to get the glue into the threads! Then place the nut into the knob and use the other end of the toothpick to straighten it and push it into the grooves at the base of the inside of the knob. Works great. I asked the company to pass on tho the manufacturer this small but important issue. I WILL ORDER MORE OF THESE EITHER WAY - IT IS THAT NICE.

Other than that, I was surprised at the quality of the fabric, parts and construction of this umbrella. Its shorter end is perfect for awkward spots. I use to clamp to the railings at the outdoor restaurant I go on the beach for morning sun shade. It has fabric awnings that are low, so the short side is perfect on top. The clamp opens to 1 and 3/4 inches, generous enough for a rail and is curved inside for clamping onto tubular needs as small as 1/2 inch. The carrying case is as nice as the umbrella. All parts are metal and hardened, thick plastic with plastic protection tips on every spoke. Well worth twenty bucks.
