I was so excited to get the Swirlio but am disappointed that it just doesn't work. Even following the directions to a tee. Much of the fruit stays in the chamber unground ...preventing you from pushing any more fruit into the chamber and making it necessary to take the swirlio completely apart. So you can only process 1/4- 1/2 cup of fruit at a time then have to take it apart, clear the fruit out then start over.

Easy and healthy

My 8-year-old daughter bought this with birthday money, even though I didn't want yet another single-use appliance in my kitchen. But we've had it for a little over 2 years now, and the kids still love it. We've discovered that you can't use fruits with skins without peeling them first, because the skins get caught in the machine. But we've done banana, kiwi, and apples successfully. The bananas are our favorite because it has a similar texture to vanilla ice cream. And I love that I have a use for browning bananas that my kids won't eat fresh. I want to try mango next.

We probably only use this about once a month, but it is still working fine and it's pretty easy to clean. We also thaw the fruit longer than the 10 (or is it 15?) minutes that the instructions recommend - usually because we forget about it until closer to 25 minutes later. So maybe that's why we haven't had the problems that others have trying to push the fruit through.

I was very excited to order this, but when it arrived it did not work. I went through the instructions, plugged it in, turned it on, nothing!

I have started a return with Amazon, and will purchase something else. Should have paid attention to the bad reviews.

My kids love this!! It makes such a wonderful dessert. It is easy enough all of my kids can use it, ages 9-20, wouldn't recommend it for younger kids except with supervision because it is kind of hard to push the plunger. Great alternative to regular ice cream and so much more healthy :-)

Could use a larger intake opening and is bit messy. But, I have experimented with alternative fruit and am happy with the lower calorie choices for frozen treats with this machine.
